I'm trying to decide what to do about breakfast our first day (Friday - EMH MK). We want to be at MK just before the EMH entry time. I want to grab something at the CR food court before we go, dh wants to grab something on Main Street. I think his plan wastes early entry time. We could do room service, but it's so pricey.

In any case, we'd get something really small, then stop for lunch very early (and hopefully off peak lunch time).

How do you guys manage breakfast?

Have you thought about having some food in the room? Like pop tarts or fruit that you get from the resort food court. This way you don't waste any time looking for food and you might not have to leave the room at the crack of dawn. Then after you do what you want for the EMH you can get a snack on mainstreet!

Have fun!!! :cheer2:

1) I go along with a Main Street breakfast snack.
2) It may look like a time-wster, but not really.
3) You could get rolls or goodies in about 10-minutes.
4) You could eat as you walk, if you don't want to sit and eat.

5) Sure makes a Magical Start.

You are right - eating on Main Street does waste precious morning time at MK. We did that one year - there is a long line & then you are lucky to find a place to sit. I say, do breakfast in your room or at the food court that day...if your priority is getting the most out of EMH....

Oooh - good idea. Do all the rooms have fridges now? We're eating at Ohana the night before, so we could purchase something at the Poly or at the CR and bring it back. We can grab coffee anywhere (I bet dh would be thrilled to go pick up coffee while I get the kids ready to go out, lol).

Maybe we should buy something before we get there to keep in the room for quick breakfasts . . . hmmmmm

Thanks!

So the Main Street bake shop won't be terribly crowded right at the start of EMH opening?

We always eat a big breakfast and then we don't stop for lunch. We just graze around MK during the day and then book a PS for dinner around 4:30pm. I personally need a nice full tummy in order to have a good day. So, I guess you could say that I don't think stopping for breakfast on Main Street is such a bad idea.

Oatmeal is a good quick breakfast in the room too - you can make hot water with the coffee maker and there you go!

On early EMH days we always eat something in the room. That way we can enjoy the parks without the crowds. I like the idea about getting a snack on Main Street after you've taken advantage of EMH. A compromise that really sounds inviting.

We bring a styrafoam cooler, keep milk, drinks, fruit etc. In the room,we had cereal, pop tarts, donuts, etc. So while we were getting ready, those already done, could eat breakfast. I AM Comando Mom! :cool1: There will be NO wasting of precious Disney time!! ;)

Contemporary has a fridge in the room for sure. You can always grab some muffins or something quick from the Food and Fun Center. They are open 24 hours so you can do it the night before or one of you can run down and grab something for both of you while the other is in the shower in the morning. Or grab it on the way out and eat while walking over to the MK.

I agree that stopping on Main Street will kill some precious ride time.

We do fruit and cereal bars. The men made us stop for coffee on Main Street and we lost atleast 20 minutes. Uhhhh!

We have warned them that on the next trip they need to get up extra early and have some while we sleep. :teeth:

We stayed at the Poly last December. I did not request a fridge but when we checked in they asked if we wanted one. I was told they are now free but you have to ask. Not sure if this is all resorts or just the Poly.

I'm with you! We rarely get breakfast outside of our room. We bring bagels, peanut butter, jelly and Nutrigrain cereal bars and pick up fruit and yogurt either at a grocery store or in the resort store. Unless it's a princess breakfast, I'm not wasting any morning time in a restaurant or shop. Straight to the rides!!!

We usually do EMH at MK, knock out Fantasy Land, then eat at the Main St Bake Shop. We love the food there, but since, like you we dont want to waste precious empty park time eating, we wait. This usually has us eating breakfast at 9:30 which isnt too late.

Also, we will send 1 person to get a FP for Buzz while the rest of us are on our way to the Bakery. Or in more crowded times when we havnet been able to do all FL, we have a FP in hand for either Peter Pan or Pooh. By the time we are done eating its our FP time for that and we are able to send someone to Buzz to get another FP before going back to ride the first FP ride(Pooh or PP).

We grab something at the food court to go and eat it while we wait for the bus..... usually works, though sometimes the bus comes quicker than we think it will!

We just had that issue on our trip in December. EMH was 8 AM, so we did a bunch of rides   and then headed to Main Street for a quick stop. Did not waste a lot of time, but put a big DENT in my wallet. I think we spent 20 dollars for 3 muffins, and 3 drinks. We are DVC members, and almost always eat breakfast in the room, but who can eat a 7 AM :flower:
Whatever you decide EMH in MK is magical :goodvibes :goodvibes

The beauty of WDW is there are just so many options. I would just leave the hotel, head towards MK, begin the day, and just let breakfast fall into place. There are just so many options, you can just grab something that looks good along the way, and keep enjoying the magic. ::MickeyMo

This is great. I love to hear all the different strategies!

The one given is that the troops (DD12, DD9, and DS5) will get cranky if we wait too long to feed them.

Thanks for all your ideas!

We take our own breakfast (pop tarts, muffins, etc.) and have a quick breakfast in the room before we head out the door. Saves time and $$$$!
