I made 8 AM H&V reservations to make my 3 year old happy for our day in HS. It's not an EMH day, so park opening at 9AM. Just now, my 7 year old told me he wants to do Jedi Training. I know that people get to rope drop early to get in line, but will it be an issue for my DH to leave breakfast early to get DS to get to sign ups? Thanks!

No, and I suggest that you DO that.

The 7yo and an adult must be at the sign-up.

Make sure any parties that split up each have a charged cell phone.
Losing each other (especially if there are unforeseen difficulties) can be a day-spoiler.

Thanks so much? So leaving breakfast at 8:45 would be good then?

We always do this. We were the first people to signups on our trip 2 weeks ago. We ask for our check when we sit down to eat, leave the table around 8:45, and then go wait outside (this is always enough time to meet the characters...they move through rather quickly since none of them can talk). The CMs will make you stay in the vicinity of the restaurant until the park opens, and then will let you leave--your cue is the music changes. Since H&V is so close to the JTA signups, it only takes about half a minute to walk over there (literally). We were all signed up for JTA and out the door before anyone else (except another family that followed us from H&V) had even arrived for the signups, and were over walking on TSM before the horde arrived there, too.
