Breakfast question

I love a good breakfast, but I just assumed that I'd eat my breakfasts at my hotel (CR - I guess the Wave). Now I'm planning my last day (I have a late flight, so I'd like to have a nice breakfast - perhaps at Kouzzina - and pop on over to EPCOT for a bit -and MK if I can). My question is: how do you all handle breakfast? In order to get to the park prior to the official opening, do you eat at your hotels just to get some food in you? Do you get up extra early and go to restaurants in resorts near the park you are going to (so for instance, Kona if going to the MK)?

Thanks!

in our last 3 trips of a week we have done 2 sit dpwn breakfasts. CRT and Cape May because our son actually asked to do a "big breakfast". We are hufe fans of breakfst but eat in room to say time.

We mix it up over the course of the trip -- some days are a quick grab 'n' go breakfast (esp. if we have an early lunch reservation that day and are heading out for rope drop in the a.m.), some days indeed we line up a breakfast near a park (Kona before MK is a must for us!). We loved our breakfast at Kouzzina, by the way. We've also done quick service breakfast in a park (good example is Epcot for rope drop, get fast passes the ride Soarin' standby, have breakfast at Sunshine Seasons then use the Soarin' FPs) on occasion. Also depends on what the night before was like -- if we know we're going to have a late night, we prefer not to have a breakfast reservation for the morning in case we need a little extra sleep.

For the most part we love breakfast food but don't like having big breakfasts (I am a big big fan of "Brinner":worship:). This past trip we aimed for getting the last breakfast ADR's of the morning in most cases. This worked out well for us at 1900 PF (GF) and CM (CR). We had a small bite at our resort (POR), usually a pastry and some juice. Then we would head over to RD at MK or EPCOT. By the time we had to start heading out to our ADR we got through a lot of the parks. To sum it up we used our breakfast ADR's as lunches when we could, and just had a small something to hold us over first thing in the morning. The only early breakfast ADR we had was for TH at AK. All other mornings we had breakfast at POR before heading out for the day.

do breakfast but we do do brunch. So, at Disney we generally grab some things from the TS and snack on those while we wait for rope drop. We will have some snacks like fruit or granola bars with us in case someone gets hungry before lunch.

The last day we break from that. We don't go to any parks as we're usually driving to the coast for a couple of days. That day we do a later CM breakfast.

I'm heading out for work, so I don't have time for individual replies right now, but thank you all! I have to think about this - my guess is that I will do a couple of breakfasts but that mostly I'll eat at my hotel. After all, it's all about the parks.

Glad to hear about Kouzzina - that hash they have on the menu sounds amazing!

I confess that I really like character breakfasts in the parks. I also like being at the park for rope drop. Having said that, I try to get the 8am ADR (one hour before park opening) for the character breakfast of choice (my favorites are Crystal Palace in MK and Tusker House in AK). First, it is cool to walk into a nearly empty park and second, we usually finish in time to be AT the rope for rope drop. This works really well on our departure day.

I LOVE breakfast food personally, but don't enjoy eating a huge breakfast and feeling gross and full the rest of the day, especailly to go out into the Florida heat. Typically, while at WDW, I eat a small breakfast most days, but will usually do one big sitdown or buffet breakfast.

I am also interested in what everyone does for breakfast? What are some good places to grab a quick bfast snack in the parks? We have never done rope drop so are there any stores or quick service places open before rope drop?

I've never done a character breakfast - I admit they don't interest me. If I wanted to have breakfast at Kouzzina (have to check what time they open), I can do that on an EPCOT day so that I can just walk over to the park when I'm done. I figure I'll do Kouzzina one day - then, on my last day, I have my choice of any spot since I'm under no pressure. I've read good things about Kona, but I'll have to do a bit more research. Boma is supposed to be great, but how good can a buffet really be? The breakfast menu isn't listed there, so although I could do that on my AK day, I'm not sure it's worth hit.

Good point. Plus, of course, much of the time I'll be eating big meals for lunch and dinner, so do I want to have such a big breakfast?
