Hi! We're staying at the Swan and looking for a leisurely breakfast on checkout day. No park tickets and don't want to deal with transportation - so either somewhere on the boardwalk or at the Swan/Dolphin. Recommendations? Thanks!

I would choose Cape May

During our last stay S/D we had breakfast every day at Picabu and enjoyed it, but that was just eat and get to the parks. If I were there now I'd check out the breakfast at Rosa Mexicano in the Dolphin

Garden Grove, right in the Swan, is open for breakfast Thursday through Monday. That would be the most convenient. Otherwise, there is Rosa Mexicano at the Dolphin, Amare at the Swan Reserve, Trattoria al Forno at Boardwalk and Ale and Compass at YC. Cape May at BC, as well, if you are interested in a character meal.

I have eaten at all three: Trattoria al Forno at Boardwalk and Ale and Compass at YC. Cape May at BC, Trattoria is decent, Cape May is a Character Breakfast Buffet very fun, I have never been rushed, Ale and Compass has a buffet or eat off the menu. Buffet is a great valve, breakfast is very good and YC/BC are my favorite resorts. Nice to walk around.

My thinking on Cape May is that it’s a pretty laid back character meal for what that is worth and seeing the characters is a good send off/ finish to a trip.

I would agree that you can find a better meal.

We've had breakfast at Ale and Compass several times and recommend it. We'll also be staying at the Swan shortly and will head over there for breakfast once or twice.

It is fairly low key if that is a consideration.

Hands down Ale & Compass if you want really yummy a la carte breakfast. The chocolate waffles with marcapone cream and cherries....mmmmm and they have real fresh squeezed orange juice, awesome pressed pot coffee and their eggs, blueberry pancakes and some sort of apple breakfast that my kids also loved are all great.

The atmosphere at the Cape May buffet is also nice, but it just went up in price and A&C is the tastiest cheaper breakfast on property. I would say it's half the price easy.

I am another vote for Trattoria al Forno. Had breakfast there last October with my wife, sat outside watching the water and enjoyed a breakfast pizza. It was a nice way to end our vacation.

Cape May is great for a character meal, but a bit chaotic (we still love it). We’ve really enjoyed Trattoria al Forno, though the took the amazing breakfast calzone off the menu! Toppolino is a skyliner ride away and is a lovely atmosphere and good food, less chaotic character meal.

I also have eaten at all 3 of the Boardwalk options for breakfast, and I recommend Trattoria al Forno. Ale and Compass was kind of hectic and the server was rushed. Cape May is better, but the characters, really the families visiting them, make it loud. Trattoria al Forno was peaceful, quiet, and both my food and server were excellent (I had a yogurt with granola, fruit, and honey).

Ditto for us - you saved me typing! Even that part about the yogurt, granola, fruit, honey!!

Add another vote for Ale and Compass. It’s pretty much a go to for us.

I very much enjoy Ale & Compass over at the Yacht Club and the buffet of sides (fruit, pastries etc.) is a great "deal" -- only ~$5 more than the entree. I find the service to be hit or miss there ... they often seem understaffed and/or overwhelmed and can run behind. I haven't tried it yet but have heard that Rosa Mexicano in the Dolphin does a great breakfast .... churro waffles!!
