Can anyone tell me what our options are for having breakfast on checkout day? Would we be able to eat at a restaurant inside a park (like TH) without tickets for that day? Or should we opt for a breakfast at a resort? And if so, what are your top choices for a resort breakfast?

You'll need a park ticket to eat in any of the restaurants in a park.

I'm planning 'Ohana for our departure day, then heading to Disney Springs (or MAYBE a park for a few hours).

Exactly my plans as well!

A lot depends on where you're staying. And what time you will be leaving.
When I'm at BWVs, I like to have breakfast at Cape May, in BC. I can walk there easily. You will need a park pass yo eat at a restaurant inside a park. If you're taking DME back to MCO, you'll need to be at the bus stop 15 mins prior to the stated pick up time. So you need to figure on timing.

You can not enter a park without a ticket. We always end our trip at Kona, but there are several very good resort breakfasts. We also like The Wave, Boma, WCC, and Olivia's.

Thank you all! I figured we would need to choose a resort over the park without a ticket, but thought it was worth asking the question! Now to decide where to go!! :hyper:

It seems like a good way to close out the week. We're starting with Chef Mickey on arrival, and I want to hang out with Lilo & Stitch!

I'd kind of like to duck into a park, but the more I think about it, we'll probably do DS instead. I've really hyped up the Lego store to my son and do T K of when else Wed fit it in.

Ohana's earliest reservation time isn't until 11:30 the day we leave and we have another destination to get to that day...so sadly we will have to save that for next time! But we got booked for Boma, which I'm excited about because we will get to check out AKL for the first time!

And I think DS is a great idea! DH and I did that on arrival night last trip before the parks and we loved it...taste of Disney, plenty to do and see, but more low-key. Sounds like a great way to ease out of the trip and nurse a Disney hangover before heading back to the real world, so we will probably do that too!

Thanks for the suggestions!

We plan to do Ohana as I mentioned, then go to DS - ride the carousel and train, maybe splash in the fountains, but most importantly to go to Goofy's Candy Company to get goodies to bring home! Yum, crispy rice treats!

My family and I are having breakfast at Ohana as well. We wanted to sleep in and take our time (since we'll be up early every morning for rope drop at the parks) so we booked the lastest breakfast reservation, which was 11:30am.

We love ending with a character meal and as much as people love to hate it we love doing Chef Mickey's - can't beat one last hug from the big cheese!!!

Must have park tickets to enjoy dinning inside any of the parks.

If you are doing a vacation package and not leaving till later in the day then I would find out about what the cost would be for adding an extra day on to the park tickets, so if you want to have breakfast at TH then you can. Only you can decided if its worth it or not.

I would choose whatever is convenient to your resort. For departure day... its all about time.. so for us picking the less stressful route would be the way we would go. When we lived out of state, breakfast at the resort QS, and then head to DS(DTD) for some shopping, spending down the rest of our snack credits at Goofy's. I have some friends that have breakfast in Norway with the princess, one last ride on Soarin and Test Track, that's their traditional way to end their vacation, for them the extra day ticket is worth it.

Here are my choices for a good breakfast in no particular order
MK area...The Wave, great buffet, probably the easiest to get too without a car, take bus from resort to MK, then walk to Contemporary, 10 min walk tops
Trails End is a boat ride away once you get to MK, another great buffet
Kona catch the resort monorail, allow about 20 mins for the ride

These next 2 are a bit off the beaten path, but can be reached with a little adventure to boot.
Olivias If busses are running to DS early enough for your timing, you can then catch a boat to OKW. Olivias IMO has flown under the radar for years. But the food here is really good
Boma this is probably the trickiest of all to get too. Catch resort bus to DS then another back to AKL.

Of course any of these can be reached by taxi or Uber.

You need a ticket to eat inside the park so I would choose a resort restaurant. In the past we have eaten at Chef Mickey's and 1900 Park Fare for breakfast on our check out days. On our next trip we are going to give Boma a shot. For our entire trip I have us eating breakfast at 8AM or earlier bc that way we don't lose that much park time, so on our check out day I am planning on making breakfast a little later around 9-9:30 AM that way it gives us time to pack and load our car up and get over to Boma and not have to rush around.
