Hey Folks,

I have never had breakfast on Disney Property and was wondering if anyone could recommend a good place to book in the MK area as we will be spending half of the day in that park. We are not bothered about being at Rope Drop so wont need to rush or anything. Also it will just be me and my DBF.

You're quite close to your trip so you may find it a little difficult at this stage, but hopefully being a party of two should help somewhat.

Are you wanting a resort, a park location or either?

The only one in the MK which does a TS breakfast is the Crystal Palace which we think is wonderful. Not sure if you will get a reservation there now but you could try. Otherwise there is Kona Cafe, Ohana, Chef Mickey's .... Kona is not a character meal which may suit you better. I don't know if you are too concerned about characters for this meal, but assume not since you didn't mention it. I think you may be best checking to see what is available and then make your decision from there. The fact that you are flexible on times is also to your advantage.

There seem to be quite a bit still available. I am not fussed whether is is in the park or at the resort tbh. I would enjoy a character breakfast so that would be fun. Would definitely prefer a buffet breakfast as it will set us up for the day!! :thumbsup2

There are places available at The Crystal Palace and Chef Mickey.... which would you say is the better experience?

In that case I would recommend Ohana or Crystal Palace. CP is our favorite. The quality of the food is good as Disney buffets go, variety is great and being in the park means less time wasted traveling around. CP gets consistently good reviews too.

We've been to CP twice and have not seen many characters. I don't know why but last week Piglet came to the table while I was at the buffet and we only have pictures with Eeyore. I've never met Pooh or Tiger there. I know a lot of people really love it though. Just our experience there.

We like Chef Mickeys a little better for character interaction. I must say the buffet at CP is good.

Definately Ohana is worth checking out but crystal palace is also good since both are character meals it may depend on who you are wanting to see but we always make sure we do Ohana for breakfast

Oh dear! Now I am torn between Ohana's and CP. Ohana's looks awesome and would love to take my DBF around the Poly and its will still be very easy to get to MK. I prefer the characters at Ohana's (No offence to Pooh and friends) Does the food differ much between them?

If I were you, I'd go to Ohana's. It would be perfect for a couple.

I would go to 1900 park fare instead. Food wise it's better selection than chef mickey and ohana. characters are alice, mary poppins, mad hatter, tiger and pooh. we booked one this time. The food choices intrigued me.

What times were you looking for? Park Fare does not open until 8am. so that would be good for a day you are not rushing to get to a park. I planned Park Fare for a day that we are going to AK because I plan on that being a relaxing day. Nothing that we feel we need to get there early for. I planned Ohana's for our day in MK. Made an earlier reservation at 7:30 I believe and then should be done in time for rope drop when we go. I cancelled CP to do Ohana's because of the family style meals and we will get Pooh at Park Fare.

We are looking at going to breakfast around 9:15am, MK will be open then so I am sure it will be a lot quieter as well.

My husband and I have done CP without children and the characters all came over- if one of us was away from the table they even came back. We really enjoyed it as our 1st character meal and MK dining experience.

This is what happens when you get help on here - sometimes you get too much :lmao:

In response to one of the previous posts about characters at CP, we eat there more than once on each trip and the characters have always all come around to our table, usually more than once in a sitting. With any character meal if you are midway through your meal and some of the characters have not stopped by yet, speak to your server. They want the characters to visit all the tables so that people don't sit around waiting for them when the table could be cleared and take another party of guests.

Although my first choice is CP and I would recommend it without hesitation over Chef Mickey, I wonder if you might enjoy Ohana better. I know you want to see characters and you did say Ohana is your preference of characters, but in addition to that, taking your DBF around the Poly would be lovely. You could get some wonderful pictures there too. Isn't that his birthday? (I remember another thread you posted).

I would say Crystal Palace. The food was excellent and the Pooh's puffed french toast is to die for. I'd also try and get a reservation before the park is open. It's a neat experience to walk into Magic Kingdom with out people around and to be able to take pictures in front of the castle with no people behind you.

Heehee yes it is.... ive planned so many little suprise for his birthday its going to end up lasting the full two weeks!

So far he has:

NY Giants Jersey
Tickets to see the Jacksonville Jaguars Vs Denver Broncos
Night at POFQ (Also so we can do EMH at MK)
Breakfast at 'Ohana (That is what I chose in the end)
And tickets for La Nouba

When I look at that list though I see that I am also doing pretty well out of it!! :rotfl:
