So I read all these great reviews about the Carnation Cafe for breakfast and we decided on one of our Disneyland days to go here for a late breakfast. Now that the menu has changed, is there a better choice in Disneyland for a sit down breakfast?

My husband and I really enjoyed the River Belle Terrace. I've also heard great things about Flo's V-8 Cafe.

Ok, not breakfast in California Adventure or the hotels.

Is Carnation Cafe really all that bad?

Haven't been to Carnation Cafe yet for breakfast, but they have removed some people's favorites, added a few things, and made some changes even to dishes they chose to keep. There is no other sit-down wait-service breakfast served in Disneyland, so Carnation Cafe is it if that is your requirement.

As for other Disneyland breakfast options...

Minnie's Breakfast at the Plaza Inn is a character meal buffet. Payment up-front. Self-serve food and drinks. CMs bus the tables. Many characters will visit you at your table during your meal.

Jolly Holiday Bakery is counter service. Coffee, hot chocolate, etc. Cinnamon rolls, croissants, pastries.

Tomorrowland Terrace - counter service. Hot food choices such as breakfast burrito, eggs and bacon, or french toast triangles.

Riverbelle Terrace - counter service. A favorite for its Mickey Mouse shaped pancakes. Also serves regular pancakes, eggs and bacon platters, and cinnamon rolls.

The River Belle Terrace is one of our must-do breakfast spots every time we visit DL. :)

Even though it offers cafeteria-style dining, we like the River Belle Terrace best of all because of the Rivers of America view and angles to see much of Frontierland and NOS while we eat. It's a really pretty location in the morning, before the crowds start building and a great location to soak in the excitement of DL.

Sorry, you did say Disneyland. I have not been to the Carnation Cafe since it re-opened. However, I did check it out as far as the new renovention. The new indoor seating is nice. And I love seeing Oscar. I usually head over to the Riverbelle because you don't need reservations, and can get served quicker. I'm going for a quick trip this coming weekend. I would make a reservation, but that tamale at Flo's is calling my name.... :tink:

Well I made reservations for Carnation Cafe, but maybe we'll want a quicker breakfast that day and we'll try the Riverbelle Terrace. Thanks.:thumbsup2

I did breakfast at both Carnation Cafe and River Belle Terrace last week.

I had an amazing latte at Carnation. And the chicken sausages were surprisingly good. But otherwise, the food was nothing to write home about.

Riverbelle was fairly standard (and average) breakfast fare.

Carnation was actually faster than Riverbelle--we just told our waiter we were in a hurry (had a tour at 9:30), and we were in and out in under a half hour.

To be honest, the best breakfast I had in Disneyland was a Dole Whip float. ;-)

:rotfl2: love it...mine is similar to yours except it was a cinnamon roll:love:...now everybody knows that DL makes some bigguns too but my daughter, being the fine connoisseur that she is:rolleyes2, noticed that there was a place that had bigger cinnamon rolls than HJB so I said "lead the way"...well we went over to the area by HM and on one side they had an ODV cart selling the biggest rolls I have ever seen Disney sell and of course the cocoa in the mugs...so we got one and sat over by the fountain at HM and ate our breakfast...it was fairly early in the am and there was NOBODY over there..I think most people were off doing FL or Space Mountain...so to eat that big old sugar shocker of a cinnamon roll and drink cocoa, (which btw was just too much sugar for me:rotfl:)...just made for a delightful morning and I felt nobody was in the park except for us...loved it!

You can't beat the Riverbelle Terrace for breakfast. While it is counter service, the food is good and sitting outside at a table looking out over the River of America and New Orleans Square, is just AWESOME!!

Everyone is always talking about these! I'll have to try one on our first day there!

Does anyone know the cut off time between breakfast and lunch for Carnation Cafe?

I was thinking if we timed it right maybe we could order some breakfast items and a little later get some lunch items. The smaller appetizers on the lunch menu sound good but not the meals.
