We are staying at All-Star Music and I was thinking I would do an ADR for breakfast. We won't have park tickets for that day, so maybe something at a resort? Will it be difficult to get from our resort to another? A character breakfast might be fun, but not necessary at all.

It depends on when you're leaving, and how. Magical Express will only pick you up at Music, 3 hours before your flight domestically and 4 if it's international. If you use Disney transport, you'll need to bus to a park, then transfer to the other resort. In reverse, you'll need to go Park - ASMu. (Or use a cab each way.)

So if you need to catch ME, you need to consider timing pretty carefully.

Couple good resort breakfasts:
  • Non-character: Boma, Trail's End, Kona, Whispering Canyon
  • Character: Ohana, Cape May, new one at Trattoria al Forno depending on timing (don't know if it's good to be fair), Chef Mickey

How are you getting around and how much time do you have?

Chef Mickeys at the Contemporary or Cape May at the Beach Club are good character breakfasts. If you don't have a car take the bus to MK and walk to Contemporary or bus to HS then a boat to Beach Club.

Or uber, cab, etc.

We really enjoy The Wave at the Contemporary. You can bus to MK, then walk or monorail over to the Contemporary. Then, do the same in reverse.

If you have time before your flight (if you're even flying), that is. You never mentioned how you're travelling.

We are using ME to get to the airport, but don't have flights booked yet. Also, using disney transportation to get to parks. I would really like to go to Boma I think, but I wonder how tough it is to get from AK to AKL? I thought this would be a fun last thing to do, but it's turning out to be more complicated!

How about anything good in Disney Springs?

If you really want to go to Boma, go to Boma. You can take an Uber for $7-8 each way, and it'll be quick. Make your flight reservations for early afternoon, and you'll have no problems.

Just be sure wherever you decide on, you leave ALOT of time to get back to your resort. We went to Ohana for breakfast on our check-out day and the monorail broke down and we had to boat to MK and got lucky enough that we were staying at the CR and could walk from there, otherwise it would've been waiting for a bus on top of that.

I agree, if you want Boma, i'd go for that. Its pretty good and the resort is beautiful. I also agree that taking Uber or taxi is easier than the bus.

AKL is very close to the AS resorts I would think Uber will be less than 7-8... If you take the bus you will go to AK and than to AKL on the bus time will be maybe 15 minutes for both bus trips waiting??????????????

We have an ADR for breakfast at Whispering Canyon Cafe at the Wilderness Lodge on departure day. We live within driving distance though, so we'll just drive over there on our way out of town, thus transportation is not an issue. I just love the Wilderness Lodge and wanted to at least visit.

We haven't made ADR's yet but are planning to book a late breakfast at either 'Ohana or Chef Mickey's for our departure day. We're staying at BLT so Chef Mickey's would be very convenient, but we love 'Ohana and it also might be nice to take a monorail ride and go to a different resort. Our flight isn't until 5:20pm so we'd just have to be back for ME by 2:00-ish.

Our departure day breakfast is Kona Cafe. We choose somewhere on the monorail route on purpose. We will bus to MK and monorail to Kona. There are quite a few choices including several character meals. Uber also makes anywhere easy to get too and opens up a lot more choices. We might even end up using Uber to get there.

I was going to suggest the same thing. AKL is much closer to AS than the MK resorts so it won't be as time consuming to go there as to a MK resort. I would just take an uber. It won't be very much. My mom got sick on our last trip and ended up in the hospital near Sea World. I took a uber everyday to see her from the Poly. It was on average $13 for an uber. That is a much further trip.

You could always take a bus there and uber back if you are worried about time.

We did Boma as our special departure day breakfast last week. It was perfect - the breakfast was amazing and we all ate so much that we didn't have to eat at the airport. :) FYI...by our 10:00 reservation on Sunday they were running WAY behind - we didn't get seated until almost 10:45 - so make sure to leave yourself plenty of time.

Boma sounds fun and I would most DEFINITELY take an Uber. Having to do all that extra transportation on a travel day would stress me out.

Boma breakfast on departure day is a regular thing for us. So yummy and filling - we easily skip lunch, plus it's such a special treat it helps us feel a little less sad about reaching the end of vacation.

Made an ADR for Boma! I'm trying not to be *too* excited for something that means we're leaving!

Chef Mickey's, Ohana and Cape May are both good, but are essentially the same food with good character interaction. If you want good food without characters, try Kona Cafe and get the Tonga Toast. Your gall bladder and pancreas will hate you afterwards, but the Tonga Toast is worth every point in your blood sugar:thumbsup2
