When using the one table service credit at breakfast (not a buffet) is a dessert offered or does it kinda get lost in the wash somewhere? I've gone over our credits by three and trying to figure out which would be the best meals to pay OOP.

Yeah...I really don't like using DDP for breakfast because you lose the dessert benefit. If I remember, they used to allow two different beverages (orange juice AND coffee, for example) to "replace" the dessert. Then...they took that away...at least that's what I am remembering.

If you go somewhere like Boma or another buffet for breakfast you would get dessert in the form of cinnamon rolls, fruit, etc.

You don't get dessert for breakfast unfortunetely nor a extra drink to compensate. Most often then none, breakfast is the best meal to pay out of pocket as it's the cheapest meal unless doing character meals

Agree with PPs. Breakfast is not a great TS value on DDP because of no dessert and the cheaper cost of breakfast foods. If you need to pay OOP, definitely go with the breakfast.

I agree. Using DDP credits for CS breakfast is really not a good use of them. Yes, you used to get 2 beverages (supposedly hot and cold but you could get anything) to replace the missing dessert but now you don't even get that. Would be nice if they allowed something like one of those bowls of fruit or a baked good.

If you will be paying for any meal OOP, I would choose breakfast. What we did on our trip in Oct. was if we didn't eat breakfast in our room, we picked up some pastries, fruit, yogurt, etc. and used either 1 CS for 3 items (still not a great use of CS but we had so many) or SC for each ind. item.

ADDED-I see you were really asking about TS breakfast but the same rule applies to CS breakfasts.

The second year the DDP started (back when it still incuded appetizer, entree, dessert, and beverage), we were staying at PORS and ate breakfast at Boatwrights. After we ordered our sweet potato pancakes, the waitress asked what we wanted for our appetizer and offered the strawberries with whipped cream and brown sugar or a fruit cup.:rotfl: When we came back from that trip I read reports of where people were told that they got neither an appetizer nor a dessert with breakfast and were instead offered two beverages, so not sure why our waitress offered us fruit.

I think breakfast on the dining plan is now a total rip off. We are doing Deluxe on our upcoming wedding trip and will only be doing buffet breafasts or having a cinnamon roll as a snack credit.
