Breakfast condiments at All Star Sports food court?

Everyone needs to get off the high horse IMHO. She does not want to steal the butter she just doesn't want to worry about tring to keep it in a room with no frig. If you need the butter take it and if you ask they will more than llikely tell you to get some for free. I can not believe how many people like to jump on someone to make themselves seem so goodie goodie. not one person here is perfect. You would not sit in judgement of someonelse if you where, because that is not the right thing to do, now is it. wasn't GOD stone by people in a group egging each other on. Wasn't "witches" burned and drowned in Salem. Look how stupid that it now. Remember you will be judged as hard as you judge someonelse. :grouphug: love everyone . BTW if Disney were that worried about it they would put it behind the counter. :goodvibes

VERY WELL SAID!

Bravo!! Couldnt have said it better. I think that everyone needs to calm down, this is ridiculous. I have to tell you guys that the fighting and rudeness that comes across this board has been discussed on other boards. This is suppose to be a safe haven for disney lovers, there is no reason to be so snippy with each other The poster simply asked a question, not for an opinion. Everyone has a right to there own opinions but I believe you shouldnt push yours on someone else. Now please, Cant we all just get along? :rolleyes1

You've got to be kidding, right?

She flat out said she didn't want tos pend the money on butter and jelly at the store, and said she feels she's giving Disney enough money to justify taking the items.

Like I said, in this context, it's perfectly acceptable to walk into Peco Bills and make a salad on the fixings bar, because you pay a lot of money to get into the MK.

I might not be perfect, but I try to conduct myself in a manner whereby I don't take items I'm not entitled to and then try to justify it.

I totally agree!

And to be honest, I don't see how anyone could disagree with this.

It's like saying they can fill up water bottles at the free refill station there too because "it's not behind the counter".

It is one thing to run into a situation where you need a packet of butter/jelly if you run out and an entirely different thing to plan and calculate (IN ADVANCE!) to "liberate" condiments from Disney. We pay a lot to go to Disney too so maybe on our next trip we should take some towels from our room, take a bag of Mickey soaps off the housekeeping cart, sneak some drinks with our own cup as our own "refillable mug", maybe even help yourself to some merchandise from the Disney Store? Where does it stop?
I have seen this for years and am seeing it more than ever now everywhere were some folks believe that "Free is better" and "I deserve this."
Sad, very sad. :confused3

At one time, I used to notice the abundance of those little tubs of peanut butter around the condiment stations at various resort food courts. Mara had them. Movies had them. etc. Then one trip -- and unfortunately I don't remember exactly where I was staying or when -- I realized I couldn't find the peanut butter to put on a bagel I'd bought (yes, at the food court that morning). At the time I didn't ask, but rather just put honey on it instead (a quirk I developed when I couldn't find pb, jelly, or cream cheese at the Grosvenor's quick service area). However, that began my saga of the peanut butter. I started looking around at resorts to see if those that once had it still did. Finally, I asked at one of the All Stars and was told that yes, they had it, but they were charging $0.25 for it.

And then there's the crucial issue --
On the one hand, having a variety of tasty fat free condiments available for the taking encourages satisfying safe snacks while practicing girth control, but on the other hand, perhaps passing out free condiments encourages casual snacks with just anything you've paid for and picked up off the street? ;)

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: I buy bagels and English Muffins for breakfast at Disney every day(10 day trip per year) I eat them Plain. You are more then welcome to have my butter/and Jelly. I can't believe some people would FLAME you for asking. Maybe this year i'll take some tea and sugar packets home!! :rotfl2:

Are there actually people out there who care about this kind of thing? It's mind boggling.

Have you people never taken an extra ketchup or two from McDonalds to use later or some extra napkins from Arby's to keep in your car?

When my baby was little, I always grabbed some extra straws for him to play with in the car - and sometimes I hadn't even bought a drink! Oh, and on our last Disney trip, we had bought milk and chocolate milk mix to keep in the room for my little guy, but we hadn't packed any spoons to mix it - so I took some from the food court! Please don't tell. I'd never be able to live with it. :confused3

I mean, seriously, we're talking about a few butter packets - not somebody trying to sneak their whole family into the Magic Kingdom in a rolling suitcase.

On our trip this summer, we picked up some pizzas and sandwiches off-site. There weren't enough forks/knives, so I walked over to Capt. Cook's and got some and some napkins. I didn't buy anything. Is this wrong?

if you need some napkins, forks, etc. because of an emergency (didn't have enough forks, had a spill, etc.) using them is understandable. But planning months in advance to "use" butter, jelly, etc. every day for the length of your trip to save a few cents, that is where I draw the line. And grabbing a few extra napkins for your car AFTER you have purchased a meal is entirely different than planning, in advance, to take them on a daily.
This is just one of pet peeves. I see more and more everyday folks taking 10 items instead of the one that is offered for free, standing in line for an hour and fighting in line for a free .25 hot dog when they are available next door for .50, etc. If you don't have a problem with any of this, that is fine. Everyone is different but the original poster did ask this as a question and wanted input.

Hmmm . . . I've seen lots of posts here reccomending that people use the foodcourt toasters to toast bagels, bread, etc. that they bring themselves.

What about all the extra electricity they are using?? Shouldn't that electricity be going to people who actually paid for a bagel?? And what about the people who bought bagels who have to wait in line behind the people who bought their bagels at the store??

Oh, the outrage!

If you want to stand by the condiment stand and make sure that everyone picking up a packet of ketchup has a corresponding order of fries on their tray, that's fine. Maybe there should be a 1-800 number posted at the condiment station where you can call and report these devil-may-care lawbreakers.

I just can't understand why anyone would bother even thinking about it. :confused3

Thank you, Improvgal, for that PSA about practicing safe snacks! :teeth:

FWIW, I wouldn't want to buy a tub of butter only to throw half of it away,
either. And if the original poster is intending to purchase lunch or dinner at
the food court during their stay, I feel that it all works out in the long run.

I agree with Lori, if the OP and family are going to buy lunch/dinner at the food court at least once or twice, I see nothing wrong with it.

Agree!

Our last visit there, at POP, and then POR we brought our own bread/bagels. I put butter and jelly on my tray (from the condiment area), as well as one peanut butter, and one cream cheese from the cooler. I asked at the register how much. I believe it was .50 for the peanut butter, and .75 for the cream cheese, or no charge if I bought their bread (for the pb) or their bagel (for the cream cheese). She said I could have the jelly and butter. Next time I went through with those items, she got a manager, and she rung up .05 for each. So now, I just go through and ask when I don't have my own (I usually have my own jelly, a seldom need the other stuff). If I needed just a butter, and I had bought something, I would help myself. I always use their electricity, because they have told me to help myself to the toasters and mocro's.

It's true that the OP did ask a question to receive an answer. And from the various answers already, there does seem to be butter and jam, just no peanut butter, and they are not located behind the counter. It's too bad you cannot purchase those small condiment packages at the grocery store cause it would be more convenient to use on trips than buying a whole jar, leaving it in the room, and hoping it won't attract any bugs. I don't believe the OP wanted anyone's moral opinion about using the condiments at the food court, or she would have asked that too. I'm sure she is very surprised to receive so many posts for such a simple question, lol! Poor girl! Have a good trip and relax!! :flower:

After many hours of reading threads and especially this one, I cant help but ask, why does anyone even eat a meal in a motel room? Its not like there is a kitchen or anything. Isnt that why they have restaurants? I cant imagine making my kids sit in a room to eat just to get it over with while im at disney with character breakfasts and great themed restaurants. I just think if you cant afford it, dont go.

I'm still cracking up over the people that make a salad at Pecos Bill's.

Hmmmmm maybe Disney should just put a disclaimer on all the butter/jam packets like they do on the refillable mugs. Maybe something like......
This packet is only for those PAYING customers. Would that make all you butter/jam police feel better? If Disney cared they would keep it behind the counter at the checkout and they'd give you what you needed/wanted at checkout after you paid. They do the signs with the refillable mugs about only being used at time of stay .... they'd do a sign next to the condiments if they cared. Jeez people on here find something to complain about in everything. I pay thousands every year....many thousands to be exact (3 week stays) and I could CARE LESS if somebody takes a butter. We are a family of 5 and we never use the butter/jam so lets see at three weeks thats 21x5 thats 105 packets of butter/jam IF we only all used one and only once a day and since I've already gone this summer and didnt use ANY butter/jam and I paid everyday for breakfast....YOU dear OP may take my 105 unused butter/jam packets. They are my GIFT to you :cool1:
