Breakfast condiments at All Star Sports food court?

OK, this may sound wacky, but I swear it's not! We are planning to go grocery shopping for "on the go" breakfast foods, like donuts, muffins and bagels at the beginning of our vacation. The plan is to "grab and go" commando style, and eat while waiting for the bus. So my question is, can we count on the condiments at the food court, like butter, jelly or peanut butter to put on the bagels? Can you walk up and grab a handful? Or are they behind the counter and you have to buy a bagel, etc. to get butter? Basically, I'm trying to figure out if I will have to buy a tub of butter and a jar of jelly to keep on ice in the room.

Thanks!!!!!!

You usually can find these things at all Disney food courts. I would not buy anything extra. :)

I stayed at the Allstar Music, but figured most resorts are pretty much the same. There was butter and jelly out, but I do not recall there being peanut butter.

Not trying to start an arguement here, just my personal opinion...but I would plan to buy these items at the grocery store for your own private use. The condiments that may be out at the food courts are, in my opinion, for food-buying guests of the food court...

you should not help yourself to the condiments. These are for those purchasing breakfast. I am sorry but I believe that if you can go to Disney World, you can spend $2.00 for your own stick of butter and jar of jelly. First of all, it is the right thing to do and second, the right thing to show your children.
JMHO.

thanks guys

I understand your concern, but I think Disney will get plenty of $$$ from us that week. A few packets of jelly or butter is not going to tip them into the red. I don't want to buy a tub of butter and end up throwing half of it out. It would be expensive and wasteful. My budget is more delicate than Disney's!

This is in no way giving an opinion one way or another but - why bother asking, especially if your going to just defend your would-be actions here on a thread. Do what you feel you need to do and don't worry about.

I just wanted to know if it was possible. Whether or not I will actually do it is another story, now that you've all made me feel guilty about stealing butter.

:rolleyes1

I agree, plus if I'm the person who just bought toast or a bagel or whatever and there isn't any more butter/jelly out at that time and I'm being slowed down by having to wait for it, I'd be peeved!

Are you kidding me, this really bothers people, if Joe Smoe takes a packet of butter or jelly. Do you ever take napkins from a place your not eating at just because you need one and its close, do you think they are free? Loosen up people she just asked if they were out not if she was breaking some golden rule by using them!!!

but you suddenly need it and planning to "aquire" butter, jam, etc. in advance because you want to save $2 are two vastly different things. If you must bring your own food to eat breakfast in your room (as many do), bring what you need (as most do). If you can't swing a thing of butter and jam, you probably should not be at WDW. YMHO.

We stayed at ASMU on our last trip, and had all our breakfast fixin's delivered by wegoshop. Personally, I don't care one way or the other if people help themselves to condiments in the food court, but on a practical note, you may want them in your room just for the convenience. While we never ate in there for breakfast, it looked very crowded, loud and chaotic whenever we passed it on the way to the bus. I remember congratulating myself every morning as I walked past that I had fed my kids in the room, so I didn't have to face that craziness so early in the morning. It just seems like it might be faster and easier to deal with it in the room, and be able to zip right out to the bus without stopping in the food court, juggling bagels and sticky butter knives on the bus, etc.

The condiments are for those who actually purchase food at the food court. What you are doing is no different than making a salad at Peco Bill's Fixings Bar, but not buying any food there.

I can't believe the fuss over packets of butter and jelly! If someone is making a financial investment (and we all know it is) in a trip to Disney, going to the parks, staying on site, and probably buying a boat load of souveniers, can't they have a few packets of butter & jelly? After all who can honestly say the price of things at Disney are comparable to the price of things in the "real world". On our many trips to the Disney, we always have our driver stop by a grocery store on the way to the resort. We pick-up breakfast food and snack food, including the condiments. We end up eating 2-3 meals a day at the disney restaurants and never eat counter service. If on my trip to the grocery, I forgot the butter, you can bet I would pick some up in the food court without an ounce of guilt!!!

I find it interesting that some people don't think someone should "use" a 10 cent pack of butter or jelly, but they think it is okay to use a child's meal credit for an adults meal on the dining plan.

We'll save that for another day.

The OP, isn't "forgetting" anything. They are planning on simply not spending the money at the grocery store and taking stuff from the food court. That's just plain old wrong IMHO.

I'm glad we don't have to worry about you doin' it. We wouldn't want you to ruin it for the rest of us. :rolleyes1

I'm surprised that they don't just keep the condiments behind the register. Even most McDonald's do that these days.

I totally agree with Anne. I find it very sad that people who spend thousands of dollars to take their family to Disney pinch pennies with things like this. Telling a ten year old they're "nine in Disney" or stealing condiments instead of purchasing them or anything like that. If you can afford the travel expenses to go somewhere, you can afford to feed your family there honestly.

If my budget were so delicate that two dollars would spoil it, I would certainly not be at WDW!

I agree that it is teaching your children poor values. Our society is increasingly "take what you can get, don't worry about others" in it's mindset and as a teacher it is disturbing when kids take home the pencils or books I provide, or take six cookies when I bring them in for the class and it's really because of how they are taught.

Taking something provided for someone else is wrong. Stealing ten cents or ten millions dollars is still wrong. Stealing from a poor person or stealing from a large company that makes millions is still wrong. It's not going to hurt Disney irreparably, of course not, but it may bite you in the long run, if you find your child stealing five dollars out of your bag, saying it's "only five dollars". It's a poor example.

Everyone needs to get off the high horse IMHO. She does not want to steal the butter she just doesn't want to worry about tring to keep it in a room with no frig. If you need the butter take it and if you ask they will more than llikely tell you to get some for free. I can not believe how many people like to jump on someone to make themselves seem so goodie goodie. not one person here is perfect. You would not sit in judgement of someonelse if you where, because that is not the right thing to do, now is it. wasn't GOD stone by people in a group egging each other on. Wasn't "witches" burned and drowned in Salem. Look how stupid that it now. Remember you will be judged as hard as you judge someonelse. :grouphug: love everyone . BTW if Disney were that worried about it they would put it behind the counter. :goodvibes
