Which characters show up at Chef Mickey and Cape May for Breakfast? Is Minnie at either or both?

Help me decide which one is best to go to for breakfast with a 2 1/2 and 4 yr old. Is the food and/or character interaction better at one than another? We will be staying at the Poly so obviously it'd be a bit easier to get to Chef Mickey's than Cape May but I'm worried that Chef Mickey's may be too busy and not enough time iwth the characters. (We're going in early Dec if that makes any difference)

Thanks!

The character interaction to me is much better at Cape May. It is a smaller restaurant and not nearly as crowded as Chef Mickey. Minnie, Goofy & Donald are there and they spent a lot of time at all of the tables with kids and posed for pictures with us four adults.

Here are my thoughts on both Chef Mickey & Cape May... First of all Chef Mickey's is wonderful, but very busy atmosphere and the characters seemed a little rushed though. The characters at Chef Mickey were Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy, and Pluto. Cape May is a more relaxed atmosphere and the characters definitely spend more time with your children. The characters at Cape May are Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Chip N Dale. But remember you don't get to see Pluto, Donald or Daisy at Cape May. I hope this information helps and my children were 18 months and 5 yrs old when we went last September.

I am definitely going back to Cape May this September and maybe Chef Mickey...

Actually, Cape May is ONLY Minnie, Goofy & Donald (Donald replaced Chip & Dale last October). Mickey has never been there the times we have gone.

Completely agree. We have never been to CM for breakfast only for dinner, and the characters seemed to be too rushed. But at Cape May, they were more relaxed and had a lot of fun with our girls. All the characters spent some time with my DDs and they both really enjoyed it. Plus the food is very good as well. We will definately be doing this character meal again.

So we miss seeing Mickey and Daisy if we go to Chef Mickey vs Cape May, right?

My girls LOVE Minnie so my hope is that in seeing just her, they'll be "wowed" enough. haha Is Chef Mickey the only place to meet Daisy?

One last question-how difficult or easy is it to get from Poly to Beach Club?

THANKS!

We have done both & both are fun. However Cape May has better character interaction (at least for us) than Chef Mickey's. Goofy & Minnie spent alot of time with my kids at Cape May & the food was really good.

Daisy is only at Donald's Breakfast Safari in AK, she is not at either CM or Cape May. As for the transportation question, if you don't have a car, then one suggestion would be to take a bus over to DHS and then take a friendship ferry over to BC. The only other way would be to take a bus over to DTD and then transfer onto another bus to BW and walk over. Good luck and have fun, we loved Cape May breakfast it was by far our favorite character meal of our trip.

We have always done Cape May and loved it because it was nice and quiet and they have a ton of fresh fruit, the food is very good too. The characters are so cute in their bathing suits but they only have 3 characters now, Donald, Goofy and Minnie.

We tried Chef Mickeys in March and the food was incredible! It is much louder and more crowded than Cap May but you get to see 5 charcters, Minnie, Mickey, Donald, Goofy and Pluto.

It is a tought choice but I would go to the breakfast that is easier to get to. Since we will be at the BWI in Oct we will go to Cape May...when we stay on the monorail line we will go to Chef Mickeys

I have been to CM a few times and Daisy has NEVER been there when we were. We were there last 9/07. We saw Daisy a couple of times in MK and will be hunting her down again since we are bringing our DD on her first trip and her name of course is "Daysie". :goodvibes

How is the food comparison between the two buffets? We are thinking about Cape May but havent been reading good food reviews.

The food is good at both, but the selection at Cape May is more limited than Chef Mickey's.

We want to go to Cape May on the day we are going to Epcot. Will the area be open over in the World Showcase for us to get to Cape May?? TIA :)

If you really want your DD to see Daisy go to Donald's breakfast in AK.

Breakfast is one thing but if your LO's really want to see and interact with Mickey and Minnie you definitely need to go to the Judge's Tent behind Mickey's House in Toontown at the MK. You wait in line and then they bring you into the room with the characters in small groups to meet "the Boss" and Minnie, get autographs, pictures (Photopass photographers present) and interact. It's not rushed. Check out my avatar for a pic I took of my son with M&M just this month. The interaction of my son with the characters here made my cry.

With that said, we did the breakfast at Cape May and it is Goofy, Minnie and Donald. They are dressed in beach attire. I have yet to be able to get reservations to Chef Mickey's. Some day!

Yes, The international Gateway opens at the same time as the front gate at Epcot (Last week it opened at 9 AM or 8AM for EMH).

From the BC you will go walk out the door, walk past SAB along the lake/beach front, over a bridge and along the canal and then thru the international gateway to get to Epcot or in reverse to get to the BC. You can take the boat but it is actually faster to walk to/from the BC; the boat goes to the BW inbetween going to the YC/BC so takes about 20 minutes plus it only comes once every 20 minutes so it could take up to 40 minutes to get to Epcot. We stayed at the YC and it took us less than 10 minutes to walk there from the lobby. The International Gateway is just past England in the WS before the bridge to France. You will take a bridge to get to the International Gateway too, but instead of turning to the left to go to France you go straight. There is a Kim Possible kiosk to the right of the bridge right before you go over it. There is a little shop by the gateway just on the other side of the bridge - I think it is called the International (or World) Traveler or something like that.

If going in the early morning this is a great time to get some photos in the England/Canada area of the WS before the pavillions open. There is basically no-one there. I got some great pics of my family with no-one in the background.

That said for character interaction and relaxed atmosphere I MUCH preferred Cape May over Chef Mickey's. The waitress and the rest of the staff were also much less harried and much more polite and friendly. Also the tables are set up such that it is easier to see if the characters are on their way to your table so you know if you have time to get food before they come. HTH

That's what I was thinking, Nicki. I figure since we're at the Poly (and prob the ONLY time we'll be able to afford to stay there) I may as well take advantage of the proximity and use of the monorail. Perhaps we'll save Cape May for a visit when we aren't on the monorail line. Although - after all your great reviews about Cape May Clam Bake - I may still have to trod over to Beach Club in the evening anyhow! haha

So if we do go to Cape May for DINNER - can we just walk over into Epcot afterwards and stroll around before taking the Monorail back to Poly??

Thanks so much. I will also take your advice about the pictures...great idea!!!
