Breakfast before the parks?

My Mom and I are both fairly early risers. We're heading to DLR at the end of August, right when the park hours are moving back to opening at 9am. Combining the fact that we'll be on East Coast time and that we're early risers, we'll probably have time to kill in the mornings.

Fortunately, we also like breakfast. Is there anywhere you can recommend that we'd be able to get breakfast around 7am or so? We're staying at the Fairfield on Harbor, so anything near there or at Downtown Disney? We don't want to make reservations, so just a place where we can walk up and sit in the mornings would be great.

We have scheduled a breakfast at Storytellers for the day we leave (before heading to the airport.)

Are you looking at a nice sit down breakfast or a quick bite to eat? The FFI has a cafeteria on the 3rd floor with breakfast sandwiches, cereal, juice, etc.. and there is a McD's in the parking lot.

If you want a nice sit down place I hear Mimi's is pretty nice and there is an IHop down the street I believe. I've never actually been to either though, the rest of my family are not early risers.

Confirming the post above, Mimi's is a great little breakfast place. It's a chain, so it won't wow you with fancy fare, but it is good comfort food, and we have always received great service there.

Better than fast food, reasonably priced, tasty. Just what the doctor ordered.

Another vote for Mimi's. It's definitely a few steps above anything else in the immediate vicinity. Great decor and yummy food. We love Mimi's!

What about La Brea Bakery Cafe? Or any of the restaurants in DTD?

We have a Mimi's here, so it'd be nice to go somewhere we can't get at home.

I have a couple recommendations.....are you interested in any character breakfasts????

DL park has a great one called Minnie and Friends and so does Paradise Pier Hotel..its called Surfs Up! with Mickey and Friends...these are my 2 favorite places to eat character breakfasts...Storytellers at the Grand also has one but Im not too keen on it...you do have the option to go there and just order off the breakfast menu...the ambiance there is really nice..both Paradise Pier and Storytellers are open really early...when I do Minnie and Friends we always go a little later in the morning so Im not sure when the earliest seating is for that...

If character breakfast is not your speed I also recommend either whitewater snacks...they have a good selection and you will be that much closer to the park..

my favorite hotel breakfast is at the DLH steakhouse 55..they have awesome food there...

DTD places are la brea bakery, jazz kitchen express, Catal, and Rainforest Cafe

We like getting breakfast at Jazz Kitchen Express (the beignets are wonderful ) but, they usually don't open until 8:00 a.m. Same with Le Brea Bakery Express in DTD - I don't know what time they open - may not be early enough for you! Whitewater Snacks located in GCH is a good option - they should be open early.

Most of the sit down type restaurants have a good breakfast. Mimi's Cafe is good - you can go to their website and sign up for their eClub and they will send you coupons for free breakfast (buy 1, get 1 free). I would love to try Steakhouse 55 for breakfast - I hear really good things about it.

With Ralph Brennan's not opening until 8am, it doesn't bode well for the other places in DTD to open earlier I suppose.

White Water Snacks in the Grand Califorinan Hotel opens at 7:00am and, IMO, is a great place for a quick breakfast.

Second the recommendations for Mimi's and Steakhouse 55. Those have been our favorite sit-down breakfasts.

I live in CA and have mexican taco shops and restaurants at every corner so I typically dont eat mexican food when Im at the parks...but let me tell you...their breakfast burrito is to die for and its HUGE...I can eat but I couldnt eat all that and their eggs benedict..oh god they are awesome

Another two big thumbs up for Mimi's. Especially if you're hungry -- they serve huge portions of great food at reasonable prices. We usually stay at Hojo's, and will have breakfast at Mimi's more than half the days we're there. Love it.

Mimi's! We eat there every visit. Sign up online and get great coupons. We find their breakfasts are large enough that it usually takes us past lunch and more into a dinner/supper type of thing.
