I was just reading a trip report and the OP said they had breakfast buffet on a 4 night at Parrot Cay...they even had pics. Is this ALWAYS an option? I thought you could only get breakfast at BB! What was I missing?!!

We've never done Parrott Cay for breakfast except for on the debarkation morning but we always have at least one morning where we go to Lumiere's (or Triton's) for a nice sit-down breakfast. There are a lot of people who don't want a buffet breakfast so this is always an option.

Yes, they have a buffet breakfast in Parrot Cay, too. Most of the same offerings, maybe a touch fancier. But I like the open air feel of BB much better - especially if I"m going to breakfast after a visit to the gym and I need to eat before it closes - then I definitely want to be seated outside away from people!

So wait, let me get this right...you can sit down and order from a menu on regular mornings at Triton's and you can buffet at Parrot Cay?! Wow. I never knew. Well, I have only been on one cruise but I thought it was only BB.

And don't forget Room Service!

BTW -- on 7-night or longer cruises, you cannot eat at Parrot Cay on certain mornings when they have the Character Breakfast unless it's your morning for the Character Breakfast.

Yes. The back of the Navigators tells you which restaurants are open for each meal.

We take the kids to Beach Blanket (or PC if the weather is bad) for buffet breakfast because they really don't want to eat at a sit down restaurant where we have to wait when they could be at the club. Then they go to the kids club and my wife and I have a nice relaxing sit down breakfast at Tritons. They have really good breakfast there.

I found Parrot Cay to have the best breakfast of all the restaurants.

What options are there for lunch, other than the quick service sites?

Pretty much the same as breakfast. A buffet at Topsiders/BBB and Parrot Cay with a sit-down lunch at Lumiere's/Tritons where you order from a menu. The operating hours are slightly different at PC vs Topsiders.

Again, you can also order room service.

Check the navigator daily as PP serves international buffets. Asian, American, etc. Excellent choices, but miss the view you get if you eat at Topsiders.

Ahhh, the view! That is the main reason we ate at Topsiders every morning and either Topsiders or the QS on deck 9 for lunch. We just loved being outside and enjoying the ocean breezes and beautiful view. However, I would like to try the restuarants for breakfast and lunch as it is vacation and it would be nice to be waited on. We're on a 15 night, so we'll just make sure we try it all!!!

You'll really enjoy the Panama Canal cruise - I know we did!! Funny though, is that we thought the same thing about eating at Lumiere's. We thought that we'd eat there a couple of times for either breakfast or lunch, but we never did. We ended up at Topsiders every time! Just something about that view!!

Oh, I can't wait. I don't want to rush the next 8 months by but boy do I wish it would get here! You may be right, that view might be just too tempting to pass us!

I'm with you there, and I have 7 months till my next cruise! I did eat once in Triton's and enjoyed it, but the view from BBB was cool!

I absolutely agree with you. We did Parrot Cay buffet and I thought it was excellent, yeah you didn't quite have the view however, it also was not crowded and you did not have to fight for a place to sit very far away from the buffet. We also did Triton's by choice one morning, it was good and Aminator's Palate our last morning. Can't wait to get back to PC, I would be shocked if there was anyone who could not have found something they wanted there. Sorry didn't think to take any pictures.

do you need to make a reservation for the served meals? if not, is there usually a wait to be seated?

You do not have to make reservations. We never really waited to be seated - but we had a party of 4, I don't know if larger parties would be different.
But oh we can't wait for breakfast at Lumiere's in a couple months!

Only need to make reservation for the brunch at Palo. Otherwise just show up during the breakfast hours listed on the Navigator. We did Parrot Cay and Lumiere's for breakfast just to try each out. No wait at all for a table.
