Breakfast at 'Ohana

I think Lilo is usually there. It may be one of those costumes that is harder to fit, so if someone calls in sick etc. the have to swap out. Lilo was there when we went in Sept 06. The character interaction was great. Stitch tried to feed my DD eggs. The server we had was hands down the friendliest and most helpful of any we had during our stay. The food was alright. The eggs are of the fluffy homogenous, kind of fake variety that some people really like, but I like my eggs to look and taste more like EGGS. Just personal preference. Everthing else was pretty yummy and DD ate in between playing with the characters and joining the parades. We are vegetarians and DH is vegan and they were very accomodating.

:goodvibes
Mmmmmmmmm....pineapple bread...YUM!
Breakfast is as stated before... "Family Style!"
Scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, Mickey waffles,
potatoes & "Pineapple Bread!"
Oh, yeah...coffee was excellent too!

With a breakfast at O'Hana's as such, DW,DD & I found
out that we only needed a quick snack on the run at
the Magic Kingdom until Dinner.

Good Luck...and say Hi to the Mouse for us!

We have enjoyed the character breakfast at Ohana's during every one of our trips over the past 6 years. It is always our breakfast on our last day. This year when we made the ADRs we were looking forward to the whole experience as always. Unfortunately, the experience seems to have compromised quality in the past three years. First of all, the pineapple bread was just not as moist and, well, gooey as it was in the past. Then, they did not bring around the fresh squeezed orange juice. We had to request and then wait for it. My biggest disappointment was when there were no Mickey waffles in the dish of food that they brought to the table. We had to wait for a rather grouchy man to come and plop a single waffle on each of our plates. When our DD wanted another one, we had to get his attention and then wait for him to give us another one and that was all she got...one! In general, the service was rather unfriendly and rushed. The little parade wasn't nearly as much fun as when they used to play Simba's song. None of the waitstaff stopped what they were doing to clap along with the tune the way they used to. It used to be an event that the whole restaurant participated in. We will probably try this breakfast again when we get a chance to return to WDW. I just hope it gets its old steam back! It used to be such a fun way to end our trip.

I'm sorry to hear you had a less-than-wonderful breakfast at 'Ohana this time around. In all fairness, I wouldn't necessarily say that it has declined or "lost its steam" -- maybe they just had an off day when you last visited? Our waitress on May 16 was fantastic, friendly and funny. She was obviously quite busy, but took the time to joke with us, kept our juice glasses and coffee cups full, and brought us more of exactly what we liked most on the platter -- and when I told her how much I loved the pineapple bread, she brought more, and brought me the recipe! As far as it not being as moist and "gooey" as you remember it being...maybe it was just that particular batch. I can't think of any reason they would have changed the recipe? I have worked in several bakeries, and also do a lot of baking at home. The same recipe can turn out differently depending on the flour used, the weather, the humidity, whether or not the oven temperature is accurate, too many factors to mention -- including good ol' human error, maybe somebody put in too much flour or not enough water that day  The pineapple bread we were served was fabulous, and I can't wait to try the recipe she gave me :goodvibes

ohana is DEFINITELY a must-do breakfast for us! we tried it last year and are hooked, lol. eggs, bacon, sausages, mickey waffles, cinnamon rolls, pineapple bread, fresh fruit-YUMMMMMM! can't wait to go back in september! oh, and the characters are great too-i have a lovely pic of mickey in his hawaiian shirt wearing the baseball cap he took off my DH's head, lol.

We went to Ohana for breakfast this past March. We all really enjoyed the food (as a matter of fact more then CM) and the character interaction was great. Especially with Stitch. I would highly recommend going!

Our waitress on May 16 was fantastic, friendly and funny. S

We were there on the same morning!!
8:50 am ADR.
Who was your waitress?
Ours was a blonde woman named "Carolyn".
We were a party of 8 sitting in a corner by all the windows facing the castle.
All 8 of us were wearing Lilo & Stitch shirts that said "Aloha".

DS did not join in the parade because no one had given us maracas.
By the time I went to go grab some, it was too late.

Katiebelle, I sure hope you're right. We were there on May 20th and the experience was exactly as stated. In the past, we have loved having our last WDW meal here and we were disappointed in how it worked out this time. Frankly, I think every effort should be made to guarantee a WDW level of quality at every meal. When someone pays so much money and travels from afar to have the WDW experience, it should deliver. If the batch of bread isn't right, it shouldn't be served. Just because we are a captive audience, doesn't mean we should be treated to a substandard experience. We noticed that the service was lacking at just about every WDW meal we had. Waiting for water, sitting in front of dirty entree dishes while they squeezed in our dessert offerings, waiting and waiting for the check, is not what we were expecting based upon our previous experiences. They were the norm during this trip and I wonder if the Dining Plan is the reason for this decline. We were paying out of pocket and we paid plenty. We just did not get the same magical dining experiences that we have on every other trip.

We were at Ohana in February and again on the last day of our Mother's Day trip. We enjoy the food and the characters here, and being at the Poly is awesome! Both of these times we had to wait over half an hour to be seated because they were behind. Our ADR's were for 10:00 AM and 10:20 and this past time we were not seated until 11:00!! They also cancelled the parade because they were so behind!!! I will definitely go to this one again - we are big fans of Lilo & Stitch - but will have an earlier seating next time.

We've been here 3 times and the characters have always been Lilo, Stitch, Mickey and Pluto. This last time Lilo stood in the corner and you had to line up for a picture. Isn't the point of a character breakfast NOT to have to wait in lines like at the parks??!!?? :confused3 Kind of annoyed by that. The other three went to the tables.

Will I go again? Yes. My husband said it wouldn't be a trip without Ohana!!

ohana is the BEST!!! we made the trek by bus, then monorail from BW Villas. Oh but it was so worth it. We did the breakfast buffet, and i got to go in the parade!! (reminisces to being a 3 year old) ah...good times, good times.

and for the characters i think it was
minnie
mickey
goofy
lilo
pluto
and stitch.
we had the wholeee gang!

We had a 10:30 ADR and had to wait, as well. Maybe the secret is to get an earlier ADR. We'll try for that next time.

i love it there-its never insane noisy-and they bring the food right to the table-its very spacious so they have the kids parade around the restaurant

Thanks OP!
We were thinking about doing this on our "off" day and now I will definitely be booking it!

Our ADR was 8:30, and I think I may have seen your group! I remember seeing a large group with matching shirts... We were about 3 tables away from the castle view windows. I can't remember our waitress' name, she had dark hair, she was so sweet, and very funny. She said, "OK, I'm gonna go make your breakfast now, real quick!" and then she came back just minutes later with a full platter and said, "See, told you I'm a fast cook!" And it was so nice of her to bring the pineapple bread recipe, along with another helping of that heavenly stuff :goodvibes

That might have had something to do with it. Both daisyduck's family and DH and I had early reservations -- plenty of Mickey waffles to go around, the pineapple bread was very fresh, and the wait staff may have been perkier and more full of energy  I would expect the servers to wilt a bit a couple of hours into the breakfast rush -- it's an exhausting job. How late does 'Ohana serve breakfast? Earlier in the shift, I'm sure they are making tons and tons of waffles, then later in the shift they may be trying to gauge how many more guests they will be serving, how many more ADR's are scheduled, how much longer they will be open, so they don't end up with 8 million leftover waffles that they have to throw away...

I just wanted to warn everyone against trying Ohana for the first time. We did it on our last trip, in December and now we have to do it every trip. Yep, one more character meal to add to our list!

All kidding aside, it was a wonderful experience all the way around. Good food, good service, good character interaction! We actually have it planned for one of our off days this summer. We are going to sleep in and have a 10 o'clock reservation. That is our only plan for the day!

Looks like Ohana is the breakfast of choice for last days!! We are planning it for our last day in December. I was on the fence between Ohana & CP, but decided not to purchase another park day so we wouldn't be tempted to stay longer!!!

The Disney store now has a Tiki line of clothing that I'm thinking about getting for us to match when we go to Ohana!! I might get the girls matching dresses and leave them wrapped along with a breakfast invitation from Stitch on their pillow the night before. Might help with the "last day" blues we all get!

Looking forward to eating here on our trip in December, glad to see there are alot of favorable comments!:)
