OK so we decided to not use the DP for the breakfast since it takes 2 credits and I would rather save them for something else. But when I calculated the cost, it would be right at $150 for the famiily! Is it really worth it? DD's will be 4 and 2 and we will be doing Chef Micky's and the Princess dinner in Norway. TIA!:yay:

Wow! Your post prompted me to look at the OOP price for CRT breakfast and it was a shock at how much it is now!

Breakfast is $22. per child and $32 per adult!

PSB breakfast, which I prefer anyway, is $13c and $23a. (Dinner by the way is $14c and $29a)

So the price difference of these two similar meals is for the atmosphere of the castle and the photo package that is included. Is it really worth $9 per person more for atmosphere and the photo package? Maybe. Only for a once in a lifetime experience I guess. I'd only do it once myself.

Just as an fyi for those on the dining plan, CRT cost this much OOP:

Breakfast: $22. per child and $32 per adult
Lunch: $23. per child and $34 per adult
Dinner: $25 per child and $40 per adult

As you can see, if you are on the dining plan and want to use the 2 TS credits for the castle, breakfast is the worst deal and dinner is the best deal although it still might not be worth 2 TS credits either.

I guess I have too much time on my hands today! ;)

I think it was worth the out of pocket expense. Me and DH did it when we were there in feb for our honeymoon, and first time at WDW, and it was great. The castle setting, the refilled when asked, they were nice the waitress seemed a tad overwhelmed but it was a bit busy. We had great service, and the breakfast was good. We saw Mary poppins, Cinderella, Snow White, Belle (in blue dress), Fairy Godmother, and I know I am missing someone, but it's fleeting my mind early this am. I think it was worth it, and I would do it again without a doubt.

We are doing breakfast in Sept at CRT.
We will be paying OOP for DH and I, and using the dp for dd. We looked at the cost of most TS child dinners, and decided we would just pay for one of dds. For us, it is more worthwhile paying OOP as most dinners on the dining plan would be $20+ anyway, so using 2 TS credits is not worth it. Most childrens meals are around $7.

I figured it all out cost wise on paper, but I'm going on three hours sleep right now, so I can't think clearly enough to calculate it.

Either way, we feel its worth it. DD is obscessed with all of the princesses right now. We don't want to miss our window of opportunity for her to really enjoy it.

Were you able to book the castle? I am supposed to call on 5/22 at 7AM and hoping that if we do decide to do it, I can actually get it. Thanks!

I figured it would be hard getting breakfast at CRT during Free Dining, but we got 9:00 adr's for one of the mornings. Did that today.

I was also able to book a breakfast for the first day I asked for in September with no problem.

I know money wise, it's not the best choice for the dining plan, but it's something we would never pay out of pocket to do and I'm sure that 7 yr old dd will be overjoyed to be able to eat there our first morning at Disney.

Eventhough the price is steep, the look on your child's face once Cinderella and her friends come walking through the door is Priceless. Also, just eating in the castle makes it all worth while. We did it a couple of years ago, and if I was going back to MK, I would do it again, but since we are going to be going to just Epcot on this upcoming trip, I have booked ADRs for the PSB (have never done) as a surprise to both my dd's. I just love the looks on their faces when they see their favorite princesses in person. :goodvibes

Not worth 2 credits, pay cash.

and again I say...worth it for little girls, not for anyone else.

That will be all, until this post again...again...lol.

We actually had our resort ressie since Jan, and booked ADRs at 180 days out before free ddp was announced.
I actually had dh call for CRT on day 180. He accidentally gave the CM the wrong check in day, (a day late), and they told him to call back the next day. I woke up that morning, a Saturday, my day to sleep in, and he told me what he did. I panicked and had him call back right away. Thankfully we got an 8:10 ADR on the last morning of our trip.
He's lucky this time. :rotfl2:

LOL- yes, he was lucky! I would have been the same way!

OK you guys have convinced me. It will be worth it to see her little face light up with Cinderella (oh who am I kidding, I want to eat in the castle to!). Thanks so much everyone- fingers crossed we get it to! Have a great day!

This is what I figured out for our upcoming trip.

2 adults and 1 DD8.

We will pay OOP for the adults and use the 2TS for DD. For us that will be cheaper based on the following assumptions...

price of child CRT breakfast is $22 plus tax and tip = aprox. $28
$28/2=$14 per credit

We will be eating at at least 2 other restaurants that are not buffets and where they have acceptable child's menus for $5.50 to $7.50 per meal. My DD will drink ice water, therefore no need to pay $2 for a soda. Or I can order a soda with my meal and either share or swap with her if need be. Also, as far as dessert goes, since DH and I will both receive desserts with DDP meals we will share with her.

So total out of pocket for 2 childs meals at other TS restaurantas will be aproximately $15 to $20 with tax, about $8 to $13 less than CRT OOP.

It's not a huge difference, but for us it makes sense to do it this way. If you are only doing buffets, then it won't be better for you. Or if you will need to buy drinks and dessert for your kids, you will probably just break even. Honestly, I would never pay this kind of money for a meal (especially breakfast) outside of the world. But at WDW, in the castle, with the princesses and my DD8, I will do it without a second thought!!!! At least once that is:)

There is nothing that can compare to taking two young daughters to CRT for breakfast. We have done it twice with our daughters, most recently at the ages of 2 and 5 at the time. They loved it and we have amazing memroies. They truly believe they are in the casle with Cinderella. Priceless. That being said, the breakfast was without a doubt the most horrific food we have ever had at disney. Most of our trips are 10 days long and include a daily Table service meal. I would like to try lunch or dinner at CRT, because nothing can be as bad as breakfast. If you use 2 TS for breakfast, have low expectations on the food and big expectations on the experience and you should be alright. They have a wishing ceromony now that is extra cute. We enjoyed Norway, as we have done that for lunch. We did not like all of the food , but there were plenty of choices to fill us up. Have a great time.
