Breakfast at Boma

I was trying to get a reservation for Tuskar on our AK day but so far no luck. I do have a 7:45 reservation for Boma and thought it was located at AK but realized its at the lodge. The opening time for the day is 9 am. I am thinking this might not be a good idea as it may put us behind getting to park at rope drop. I was thinking it was like Tuskar and we would already be in the park. Is there any advantage to having an early reservation at Boma on AK day?

There's no advantage I can think of except that it's a good meal.

See if you can move the Boma reservation to 7:30. This should give you plenty of time to eat, and get over to DAK in time for opening. Honestly, I don't think RD is too important at DAK. But that's just my opinion.

Well, it is a buffett, which should go quicker. Assuming you arrive 5 minutes early and get seated at your ADR time, you should be done around 8:30. Catch the bus (or do you have a car?) over to the park. I would say you could conceiveably arrive at AK as early as 8:45 or as late as 9:15, depending on travel/wait time for bus. You could try arriving at Boma at 7:30 and see if you could get seated earlier.

Thanks for your replies, I only made the reservation because I thought it might be a good idea to help us beat the crowds, but doesn't look like it will matter that much. We are going Thanksgiving week also. Cant wait.

Cool! We're going Thanksgiving week also. Staying at Art of Animation. I would advise you to keep trying for Tusker House. People cancel all the time.

I never miss breakfast at Boma. I'd keep the ADR. Enjoy!

Ditto to both. I looooove Boma, any meal.

I would keep trying for TH. Boma is good for breakfast, if you are staying at AKL or will have a car. If you are going to rely on taxis and Disney transportation, Boma really isn't worth the hassle for breakfast (dinner is a different story).

Breakfast at Boma is my favorite meal in all of WDW, definitely worth going a little out of the way for. It's never been busy or crowded at breakfast like it is at dinner (we've always gone early though) so you can be out of there pretty quickly. And it's just a short drive (or bus ride) to the park.
