Can someone suggest a good breakfast place at AK? I have read about the character breakfast buffet at Tusker House but I think that might be too much food, especially in the summer. If TH is worth it for the atmosphere, we'll put it on the list. I believe Rainforest has a bit lighter breakfast.....any good? Need reservations there for breakfast? Any other suggestions?

As always.....Thanks for all your great advice!

We really have enjoyed Tuskar House for breakfast, you can eat lite there if you choose too but it can be time consuming if you want to wait on the charactures to come around. It is themed really well, but there are some dining rooms that are kinda out of the way and to me doesn't seem to have the themeing that some of the other rooms have.

We enjoyed Tusker House for breakfast. Mostly because our 5 year old was into the characters, but also because it's a buffet with quality food, some of which is African-inspired. Too much food?...On vacation?...No such thing. :)

We LOVE the food at Tusker House! The character interaction is wonderful as well. I love the look of Tusker House inside, very much makes you feel like you're in an African marketplace. You won't be disappointed :)

Tusker House. Hands down.

Yes, the characters are wonderful, but the food itself is very good and there are a lot of non-traditional options that we really, really look forward to each year.
Don't worry too much about the summer heat. We have eaten there in AUGUST on many occasions.
Still wonderful.

Just out of curiosity, does anyone know what time Rainforest Cafe (at AK) opens for breakfast?
Thanks!!

The earliest time you can reserve is 8:30. We chose Rainforest over TH because DS11 feels he is too old to do character meals. Anyway, the Pie of the Viper sounds like it is right up my alley. We are staying at AKL and have Boma ressies as well.

We just had breakfast at Tusker House on Wednesday, 1/23 and it was delicious, as usual. I love the theming and the food is always great! We always get a late reservation, around 10:30, and use it as a brunch. It works out great for us, because then we have an afternoon snack and a later dinner.

Their ham carved off the bone is awesome, as well as the frittatas, bobotie, plantains, etc... and they have lots of traditional breakfast foods as well. It's a great variety.
