Breakfast @ Ariels in am to Toy story...

Hello..we having dining for breakfast on a Saturday @ 8:40am at Ariels Grotto..the lady said we can be there till 10am..so my question is can we just go to Toy Story from there without having to go back to check in area? We will be staying at GCH, I was told to get to the gates at 8:30 and they will let us in.. any one done this???

Yes 10am was opening for DCA.. we will miss opening at DL, but have firday & sunday for that!

One thing that you need to be aware of is that they do a pre-opening line for TSMM that starts filling up as soon as the gates are open. So even if you get let right into the park, you may not find yourself with an advantage when it comes to getting in line.

That was my thought. I've seen pictures of where the line starts, and it's NOT pretty. You will probably have to backtrack all the way to the front of the park; they aren't going to let you cut into line.

I'd do TSMM on another day when you'll be at the gates in line before opening, not inside eating.

I am going in August specifically to get on TSMM. Just to clarify what you said, a line starts outside DCA for TSMM before the park even opens? At what time and how do they keep everyone in correct order from opening to the ride? I thought it was like Nemo and you make a mad rush! Is it clearly marked somewhere?

We were just there and there is no line outside of the park for Toy Story! When they opened the gates people started sprinting to the area. I think if you are having breakfast at Ariel's and you can stay in the park, you just walk over the boardwalk and get in line with everyone else!

The way I understand it is that when the park opens at 9:30 AM to ride Soarin', there is a queue set up to start the line for TSMM. At the 10:00 AM rope drop, a CM leads the line to the actual attraction.

Yes, we're doing this too, although our Grotto reservation is for 8:30 AM. Another perk is that you can park at Downtown Disney, and the Grotto will stamp your parking card.

However, I still don't understand exactly where the ToyStory line starts, and where we go (or go back to) from the Pier.

It was very orderly. We entered DCA through the DGC entrance about 9:35 or so and actually had to turn left and walk a ways towards the front of the park to get in the queue. Once there we waited until the rope drop at 10 am (had a nice view of the water ride) wound through the park up past Ariels (on our right) through a few rope mazes and were on the ride about 1050. Worth every second
