We like to grab a quick bite on the way to the parks for breakfast(to eat as we walk to take the bus) and don't want to spend time stopping in the parks to eat (some can't eat before we leave the room). Is there anywhere that we can get lowfat muffins, egg sandwich, bagel, and coffee to go? Does Beaches and Cream offer this type of breakfast? Is the Boardwalk Bakery too far to walk to on the way to the busses or Epcot?

What is a good stop for a light lunch at BCV? Beaches and Cream again? What is Cape May like? What type of food? Wraps and light fare or meal type fare?

Thanks friends

If you are staying in the villas, why don't you just bring a bag of bagels or something (or buy them at the BCV store) and keep it in your villa fridge? This way you can grab it from your room and make your way over to the park or bus/boat?

The Boardwalk Bakery is only a little out of your way when going to Epcot, so you could make a pit stop there. OR, you can always walk over to Fresh or Tubbis at the Swan or Dolphin to grab something to go.

Although, I'd go for keeping the breakfast items in your villa. That would probably work best! :)

Have fun whatever you decide! :sunny:

Beaches and Cream is a great place for lunch. I saw in a corner of the lobby by Cape May Cafe that there is a place that sells coffee in the morning and probably bagels and pastries. I am sure that someone here knows more about it than I do. If you are staying in one of the villas, I also highly recommend that you have something quick and handy to eat in your villa. We just did toast, juice and cereal. Hope this helps. :earsgirl:

First off I don't believe Cape May is open for lunch, and breakfast there is a character meal, so probably that is out for you as well. I would suggest the Boardwalk Bakery as well. I made a couple of trips over there myself on our last stay. The earlier you can get there the better as you will have more of a selection and less of a line.

B&C is not open for breakfast, but would be a great place for lunch. I'd suggest going at an off-time for lunch though as it can fill up pretty quick. The only other option you would have would be to do take out or hit the ESPN Club on the Boardwalk. I would equate ESPN Club to Bennigan's or TGIF food fare.

Have a good trip.

Brian

What food items does the BCV store carry? Milk, juice, bread, etc.

Thanks friends

You could always purchase muffins or bagels at the Boardwalk Bakery the day before and they would be fresh enough to eat the following morning. Especially if you toasted the bagels.

Yes, I saw that place too. I can't remember whether it's the Rip Tide Lounge or Martha's Vineyard Lounge, but it is right off the lobby, next to Cape May. And I saw several people eating cold cereal, fruit, muffins, etc. in the Solarium in the morning, so I'm sure that that place must have a variety of things. Families seem to stop in there and then go to the Solarium to eat. I've never done it though, so I don't know how the lines are. Like someone else suggested, I just have coffee and a pastry in my villa. Sometimes, I'll stop the night before at either the French Pastry shop, Boardwalk Bakery, or one night I brought "home" leftover Sticky Toffee Pudding from Rose and Crown and get something for breakfast. That's really a treat!

Yes, we've gotten coffee and muffins there....it's not Martha's Vineyard, but I'm not sure about Riptide Lounge. It's only open in the a.m......

Cape May does serve breakfast. It's a buffet with Minnie, Goofy, Chip and Dale. Make sure you make a ps it can get busy! The hours are from 7:30 am - 11:00 am . And the prices are Adults $16.99 Children Ages 3-11 $8.99.

Cape May has a "to go" breakfast section too where people can get pastries, cereal, etc. in the morning. This opened to replace Beaches and Cream not being open in the morning anymore. The Emporium (large gift store at the entrance to the Villas) has a lot of food stuff like Milk, juice, etc. Its sort of a convenience-store combined with a gift shop. But I don't believe they have fresh pastries or anything like that. Just stuff in the fridge, freezer, and things like canned goods and cereal. The Emporium opens at 8 a.m.

If you must eat outside the room, and you don't want to eat in the parks, you have three options: Grab something to go at Cape May, go to the Yacht Club Galley which serves breakfast (lobby of YC) or go to the Boardwalk Bakery. Be prepared to stand in line for 5-10 minutes (possibly more) if you go to the Boardwalk bakery at peak time (like 8-9, before park opening). That place is small and can get crowded. But it is very good.

If you are going to MGM and want to take extra time, you could stop at Tubbi's at the Dolphin and pick up food there. But they don't have anything that you could not get closer by.

I would definitely agree that the very best thing to do in terms of time and money is to keep breakfast items in your villa fridge We had cereal bars every morning on our way to the parks and orange juice that I bought at the Emporium and kept in the fridge.

For lunch at the resort, you are fairly limited: Beaches and Cream (usually jam-packed), the Yacht Club Galley, or walk over the Boardwalk, where you can dine at ESPN Zone, the bakery, Spoodles, or Big River Grille for lunch. The Swan/Dolphin also have lunch options.

My biggest (probably only) quarrel with the Beach Club is the lack of food offerings. I think the place really needs another casual restuarant or, at the very least, an major expansion of beaches and cream which is way too small to support two resorts, the villas and all of the people who drop in from Epcot.

I totally agree that a major expansion of Beaches and Cream would be wonderful, but how would they do it? I wonder how often Aerial's is used?

Aerial's is busy pretty often with wedding receptions and private parties.

We usually stop by the Bakery at night before going back to the BCV's and pick up danishes for the next morning. DW usually likes to get a fancy coffee at the stand on the boards before we head "home"...

That is such a beautiful room! It reminds me of Triton's on the Wonder.

On our trip this past October we just had breakfast in our villa - we had the town car service stop at a grocery store on our way in from MCO.

We bought the refillable souvenir mugs and stopped in at the take-out place in the BC lobby for our coffee refills every AM on our way to the bus stop. One piece of advice - if you like ice coffee(as I do), fill up your refillable mug with ice in your villa before you head down to get your coffee so you don't have to stand in line just to get ice. The take out place was self - serve with very long lines as there was only 1 cashier!

As far as lunch at the resort - we were only there at lunch time 1 day and we just grabbed something at Hurricane Hanna's Grill since we were at SAB. They serve the usual burgers, etc but they also serve wraps and salads - VERY casual poolside dining!

Hope this helps!:D
