Breakfast and EMH

From now on until the end of September there is every morning EMH; but how does this effect breakfast at the Disney hotels?

Correct me if I’m wrong but breakfast does start at 7:30 at the Disney hotels.
During our last trips (without EMH) we always had breakfast at 8am. At this time we had absolutely no queues and after breakfast we had enough time to get to the parks for the 10am opening.

But how does the daily EMH change that? Will breakfast starts earlier at the Disney hotels? (Because if you want to be at the parks at 8am 7:30 breakfast would be a little bit late.)
And for all who do not want to use the EMH – does that mean that from now on the crowds will be much longer at about 8am?

Has anyone experience with breakfast at EMH days?

Breakfast starts at 7am at all the Disney hotels.

To be honest, even at 8am, I've seen it busy at breakfast (this was at the Santa Fe and Cheyenne, in February, October and November 07). So, even if we don't have EMH, we go for breakfast by about 7.30 each morning, to avoid the queue for breakfast.

In my experience with morning EMH, early (ie7 to 7.30) breakfast is still the quietest time, as there are many people, although they can enter the park at 8am, will choose not to, and will choose to take their time and go a little later.

Breakfast is really quiet until about 7.45 usually.
the same with the queue at davy crocket (breakfast there is from 7.30).
which means that if you do make it in for 8 am it's really quiet. it gets busier around 9am.
we like GMF as we can rush in and have fun then eat as it gets busier.

Marcus we were down at breakfast around 7.15am both times last year and it's fabulous, seated straight away and an almost empty restaurant, well worth getting up that little bit earlier, and if your still dining at 8.00am a message comes over the speakers to say "Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls Disneyland Park is now open" - So you can leg it to the park.:rotfl:

We were offered an 8.30 breakfast slot on arrival at sequoia lodge, but when i asked for a 7 am breakfast, this was also available!! At 7am time, there were no queues, but by 7.30 - 7.45 am both restauarants at the hotel had queues all around the foyer and even up the stairs!!! A couple of families that i knew also staying there couldn't get the earlier breakfast slot and so didn't even attempt the queues and bought breakfast in the park. It did mean a 6am alarm each day, but it was worth it in the end! This was feb 11-14th this year, but still low peak on disney booking calender.

Hi, I'm planning my first trip to DLP and I'm trying to choose hotel.
Is this breakfast queueing usual ?

Some queueing at peak hours would be expectable, but "queues all around the foyer and even up the stairs" sounds a little bit unreasonable to me

At about in the off-park hotels, e.g. the Holiday Inn, are there the same type of queueing ?

It seems to be a common problem in most hotels. When we stayed at Holiday Inn we booked the hotel without breakfast and it proved to be a good move. We had dream passes so got in early for EMH, did an hrs rides then went for a croissant or pain au chocolat on mainstreet.

We are going to Cheyenne later this month and am tempted to forget about breakfast unless we can get GMF as the thought of fighting the crowds at breakfast just doesnt appeal to me at all

We spent our last night in holiday inn (had a loyalty reward night with ich to use). We actually felt that this hotel and breakfast system was a lot more relaxing as there was no allocated time slots given and people weren't rushing around for emh. With the few rides that were open, we felt that next time we would poss sacrifice emh and stay off site for a more relaxing/refreshing start to the day! The days that we were at sequoia lodge was half term for some of the uk, although not the majority.Don't get me wrong though - sequoia lodge is a lovely hotel other than the queues!!
