My wife and I had breakfast at Steakhouse 55 (hereinafter S55) yesterday and really enjoyed it. Val & I are an older couple - in fact this trip to DL is my retirement trip - and we weren't looking for a character breakfast.

We had heard good things about S55 breakfast from other DIS friends and decided to try it on our first day here. The service was wonderful and the food was great. Val got eggs benedict and declared them as good as the ones her dad used to make. I had a more typical egg/bacon/pancake breakfast plate that was really good as well. I will say that breakfast here isn't a cheap meal but the food is really good quality and the surroundings are elegant.

Loved looking at the old pictures on the walls and trying to identify the various people. They have a cheat sheet for those that are stumped and can't identify somebody. Just ask your server.

Looking forward to doing S55 again, but for dinner this time tonight.

One of our favorite places to eat, everything is so relaxed and the service has always been excellent.

Subbing.

DW and I are going in August. This is our first trip to DL together as a couple. Would love to hear you tell us about dinner. This is an anniversary trip for us and we're planning on dining there our first night. Glad to hear you enjoyed the breakfast.

I agree. We went for breakfast also, with our 6 yr old daughter. The staff is wonderful and the food excellent. They do have color crayons and an activity menu for the children so they don't get bored.
Please let us know how dinner is. Both hubby and I want to go back.

Enjoy, Tammy

I had breakfast there on my trip back in January and LOVED it. What a great place to start the day. :thumbsup2

I had the build your own omelet which was yummy.

In 3 weeks we have dinner reservations, but I'm thinking we need to try breakfast too. Thanks for the review!

I didn't know there was a cheat sheet! :thumbsup2

Enjoy your dinner! My mouth is watering thinking about it. :goodvibes

Just got back from dinner there. By coincidence we were seated at the same table we had breakfast at.

Dinner was outstanding. A friend joined us and we started with the crab cake appetizer and she had the french onion soup. Very interesting presentation on the soup, where they bring over a bowl with a parmesan crisp on the bottom and then pour the onion soup over it. Val & I shared the dugeoness crab cakes. You get 3 small crab cakes, which was perfect for our small appetites. Very good. I went for my usual filet, while Val & Ros each had the 12 oz dry aged NY strip. They were perfectly cooked and very tender. Some of the left overs went home with Ros. For sides, we had one order of the potato stack au gratin and one order of the mac n' cheese. Both good, but the mac n' cheese was probably the best.

We shared dessert - the 24 layer chocolate cake. Absolutely outstanding.

Total for dinner after AP discount (15%) for the 3 of us was ~$200, which included a $40 bottle of wine. (XYZinfandel if you want to know.)

Yes, we will go back.

Sounds like a wonderful dinner for the three of you :goodvibes

I've had dinner at the restaurant a few times, and enjoyed every meal. Someday I'll have breakfast there, too. :)

We also enjoy breakfast at Steakhouse 55 and found the cost not bad at all, especially considering the location.
