Break out the bubbly and warn the waiters...she's coming back!

Maybe CHH was just having an off day. I have heard great things about the tuna and the hummas sandwich. I was also eyeing the salad with chicken that looked delish, I should have gotten that. You live and you learn!

Yes, please. Where is Mr. Toad hiding?

As soon as you enter the scene that is Owl's house, swing your head to the left -- the picture of Mr. Toad handing over the deed to Owl is the very first thing as you enter that part of the ride. I almost missed it and had to turn around in my seat to look at it!

Just chiming in ... they make a terrific tuna salad sandwich at Columbia Harbor House ... it's one of the reasons I go there. It's so hard to find a decent tuna sandwich at WDW anymore. I've also heard that the vegetarian sandwich they make ... with hummus, I think, is really good. I may try that the next time we're there.

All the talk about the tuna sandwich here on the DIS really has me thinking I should give tuna another try! :laughing:

I had the fish. I meant to get the tuna sandwich, but I completely flaked while in line (and you will find out why when I do my next update). I also had the apple crisp thing for dessert, and it was very yummy!

You flaked while in line? Don't tell me you're one of "those" people (who I always seem to be behind) who freezes when they get to the front of the line no matter how long they've been standing there looking at the menu? ;) I'll look forward to the story in your next update! Mmm... apple crisp. :cloud9:

I had the hummus sandwhich there twice and it was excellent!! :goodvibes

That looks delish!!!! I love hummus.

Oh the BLT chicken salad? I've been eyeing that too.

Thanks! I will make a note of it so I hopefully remember. The line is always so long I'd hate to miss it and then have to wait in line again!

Oh, no! I refuse to be one of those people in line because they absolutely drive me nuts also. That's one of the reasons I sometimes flake and make decisions too quickly. :rotfl:

Joining In! Great PTR! I'm with ya on Stitch and the Teacups make me :sick:. GL with ADR's. It's so much easier online. :goodvibes

Phew. So glad you're not one of "those." :lmao:

:welcome: So glad to have you aboard. I have to say, I'm nervous about ADRs. Hopefully I don't crack under the pressure! ;)

What IS hummus?

it's a dip (or spread) made from cooked, mashed up chickpeas, tahini, olive oil, salt and garlic. I didn't think I would like it but it's actually quite good ... love eating it with warm pita bread. :cloud9:

I didn't think I'd like hummus - in fact only tried it to be polite- and to my surprise really, really liked it. The opportunity to try new things in small doses is one of the reasons I enjoy F&W so much! Otherwise I am not a very adventurous eater. But a bite-size portion with a wine chaser... that I can do! :thumbsup2

I've enjoyed CHH a few times. I've had a good salad there and sitting upstairs is a nice quiet break.

And yes look for Mr Toad in the Pooh ride! I remember riding Mr Toad as a kid and just loving it!

I will keep it in mind as a good break spot. I have to figure a handy way to write down all this stuff I want to remember and bring it into the parks.

Ah, Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. I loved it as a kid. All the wild twists and turns. And the end when you thought the train was going to collide with you? I got a little nervous every time. :rolleyes:

We are down to the wire, friends. It is ADR crunch-time. I believe my ADR window opens on Saturday. In my opinion it should open on Friday, but since I have two separate reservations sounds like that is too complicated for Disney to handle. OK- Saturday is a good day for ADRs.

Here’s my plan:
Set alarm for Saturday morning (a sin, if you ask me. And something I would ONLY do for WDW!) :rolleyes:
Brew coffee :surfweb:
Cinnamon rolls (Pillsbury. Not quite Main St bakery but I’ll imagine!)

Tactics:
Planning a "belt and suspender" approach of both the online methodoligy and the telephone.

Here’s what I’m trying to get:
* Friday 9/25- Liberty Tree Tavern Dinner ~5pm – dinner before MNSSHP – hoping friends will be joining me. Otherwise will have a lot of turkey to eat… :laughing:

* Saturday 9/26- dinner at Rose & Crown. Time TBD. What do you think? Also want to see Big Bad Voodoo Daddy this night. They are playing sets at 5:45, 7:15 and 8:30 and Illuminations is at 9. Early dinner and then concert/Illuminations? Or concert then dinner/Illuminations?

* Sunday 9/27 – dinner at California Grill

* Monday 9/28 – lunch at Sci Fi – still debating this one. Think it’s ok as a solo? Alternative is Tune In Lounge or maybe back to Boardwalk area for lunch.

* Monday 9/28 – dinner at Brown Derby ~6:30pm

* Tuesday 9/29- no plans… as of yet… suggestions? Maybe Kona? Or Flying Fish?

* Wednesday 9/30 - Lunch at Chefs de France ~11:30am

* Wednesday 9/30- dinner at Yachtsman ~6:30pm

* Thursday 10/1 – breakfast at Chef Mickey’s

* Thursday 10/1 – Grand Floridian Tea ~2pm

* Thursday 10/1 – dinner before MNSSHP #2… Wave? Kona? Plaza?

* Friday 10/2 – dinner at Sanaa ~8:30pm

And then it’s back to reality . Boo!!! :mad: WHY can't I live in WDW? :confused3

So now is the time. Weigh in. (Ironic phrasing since I will most certainly weigh 300 lbs after this trip.) What do you think? Am I missing anything? Any mistakes? Anything you’d add?

I’m having anxiety about not having Le Cellier and Tutto in rotation. But there are just too many options. Would also really love to fit in Kona somewhere… maybe on Tuesday 9/29 if not a pre MNSSHP option?

----------------

On a separate but vacation-related note, have been investigating the Mandara Spa at the swolphin ever since MickeyNiki's recent report. $220 for a 75 min hot stone massage. :scared: Insert joke here about the services that had better be included for $220. ;)

I think your ADRs look great. I'd suggest concert then dinner/illuminations, I quite enjoyed the dinner/illuminations combo!

I think if you are that panicky about not having Le Cellier and Tutto in there then you should add one of them. You can always change your mind and cancel further down the road. But at least you will have an ADR if you do want to eat there. :thumbsup2

Hi Christine - I'm signing on for your PTR ride. Looks like you and I will be at the "World" at the same time. As a matter of fact, I too moved up my arrival date to enable me to attend the Everest Adventurer's Weekend festivities. It's going to be an amazing time! See ya'there!!

I think a bunch of us from WDW Radio are doing a review together of the F&W on the 25th. Then we're running in the EEC on the 26th with a ticketed party in AK afterwards.

A whole bunch of the restaurants on your list are on mine too - so I'm sure we'll be running into each other. In addition to being on the DDP, I'm also taking in PFTS and a Sweet Sunday. I'll be there until 10/10, so I'm guessng I'll weigh 400 pounds when I get home.

Looking forward to hearing how your ADRs come out.
TTFN,
Alisa

Okay, the first thing I really like is that you are having cinnamon rolls and coffee Saturday morning. A girl after my own heart!!! :lovestruc

Second, I was pleased with having an earlier dinner at Rose and Crown and then watching Illuminations later on -- so, my vote on that is dinner, concert, Illuminations.

Third, I think you will be fine solo at Sci-Fi -- you should try it -- the ambiance/film clips alone make the place a must-see!

Fourth -- the rest look great -- I want to come, too!

The only suggestion I can offer on your ADRs is this - maybe skip a sit down dinner on the 1st. Every time I've done had afternoon tea at the Garden View Lounge, it's taken a couple hours and I've come away stuffed. It could just be me - I tend to eat like a little piggie at WDW. I usually do the tea before MNSSHP. Then grab something at a CS location during the party (or break into my candy stash)

I agree. If you have afternoon tea at the GF you probably won't be hungry enough for dinner shortly thereafter. I'd stick with a light snackeroo during MNSSHP as well, if I were having tea before the Halloween party.

I don't know about the astro orbiter. Your pics are great but I'm guessing based on the angles that the little space ship thing twists and turns you around? It's not just a nice easy ride like Dumbo?

Dole Whips don't appeal to you? Do you like pineapple? Oh well, more for me! ;)

Nope never seen Spectro. You like it?

No twists and turns. Just in a circle and up and down control like Dumbo. We didn't do Dumbo so I can't say for sure if its any faster. It certainly is higher, you take an elevator up to the loading platform.

I am wierd when it comes to fruit...I love FRUIT, I like very few things that are made with fruit unless it is a pastry of some type

I loved Spectro but I love any parade or fireworks, they are on my must see everytime list!

Thanks! I loved reading about your dinner/Illuminations experience. That is what inspired the idea. I can't wait! :yay:

I don't know what to do about Le Cellier and/or Tutto. There's just no way I can eat everywhere I'd like to even in 10 days so maybe those have to wait for my next trip...whenever that may be. :rolleyes1

Hi Alisa!

:welcome: It's great to meet a fellow Everest Adventurer traveler. Are you attending the Adventurer's Club dinner on Thurs?

:lmao: on weighing 400 lbs when you get home. I am impressed that you will be running the race while you're there. That's awesome! I always say thank goodness for all the walking in WDW otherwise I truly could gain 20 lbs in a week. Seriously!

I look forward to meeting you! :flower3: :upsidedow

Wanna get up early on Saturday to email with me back and forth to ease my ADR angst? :flower3: Just kidding. That's too much to ask of anyone. But hopefully by the time you wake on Sat I will have some ADRs to report.

Any time I plan anything Disney-esque I think of you and MeMom. You both plan the best little celebrations! :goodvibes

But don't get too excited about the cinnamon rolls. I'm popping them out of the can and baking. :rolleyes1

That's a good suggestion. I am a piggie as well. Oink Oink. And there are plenty of MK counter service I would enjoy.

Don't underestimate what I can pack into my tummy but point well taken. ;)

No twists and turns? :confused3 I wonder why I've talked myself out of it in the past? Pure height doesn't bother me. But spinning, upside down action etc. is not my cup of tea. Hmmm... this could be a late addtion to the "would like to" list. I can totally see Paula and Jen getting me on this ride... :rolleyes1 :goodvibes

Hi Alisa!

:welcome: It's great to meet a fellow Everest Adventurer traveler. Are you attending the Adventurer's Club dinner on Thurs?

Yep - I'll be at the dinner. :cool1:

I was worried about flight delays causing me to be late for the party. So, I decided to fly in very late on the 23rd.

I'll spend the morning of the 24th at MK. Then head over to DtD...lunch at Raglan Road, lots of shopping, maybe Aerophile, etc. Hoping to hook up with some WDW Radio pals for a drink at Paradiso 37 before we go into the Club.

You're welcome to join us!
