Break out the bubbly and warn the waiters...she's coming back!

Awww...a woman after my own heart, I'm so not going near any teacups ever ever ever again....spiny is just not my thing...and well we both know how much I love the Haunted Mansion and Jungle Cruise at night...I love it...one of the best experiences.

OOH...ADR day is coming up so soon...for both of us...I have some to make Sunday and some to make Tuesday. I can't wait!!! Oh now I have to start working on my binder LOL!!! Going to update all my information and go from there!

How do you feel about Astro Orbiter? :rolleyes1 How is HM different at night? Just the queue, I guess. I remember it being super fun last year at MNSSHP.

Why are your ADR days split? Do you have a split reservation? :confused3

How is your binder coming? Are you doing a PTR? popcorn::

Sorry to hear about that. I hope they make it right for you.

We had similar issues with AA about 2 years ago. Ended up 39 hours late to Disney because of changes (not due to weather). We have not flown AA since.

I remember how helpless I felt. I could not control any of it and they really did not even act like they care. Its probably one of the must frusterating situations I have ever dealt with. Just thinking back on it gets my blood pressue elevated.

Ooops, just read you got your direct flights back. Glad it worked out for you. I am through being outraged now.

Thanks for your outrage - even if only minutes worth. ;) What an awful experience with AA! I don't blame you for not having flown with them again. I don't get it. It's not rocket science. Why can't the airlines figure it out. And while we're at it, could someone PULEEZE figure out the security lines? :confused3

Whew! I was a ways behind...

My list of favorites are: Space Mountain (refurb), TTA, BTMRR, the teacups, Buzz, Monster Inc Laugh Floor, and the Jungle Cruise. I REALLY like Spectro-I hope you are able to catch it, it's a beautiful parade!

I have to chime in on CHH. The tuna sandwich and the hummus/brocolli slaw sandwich are YUMM-O!!!!! I don't even like tuna and I like this!!

I third, fourth, whatever this. It is a lot of food!

Have you ever done breakfast at Chef Mickey's? It looks delish! I want to try it sometime...

I love that you are making your version of the Main Street Cinnamon Rolls on ADR day! :goodvibes My version sounds to be the exact same recipe as yours and CPs! Who wouldlda thought it?

Very glad to hear you got back on direct flights-what a headache!!!!!

Hi Brook! I haven't done Chef Mickey's. Am looking forward to a trip first! Will be sure to document it for you! :goodvibes Thanks for the recommendation on CHH- will have to try to fit it in. And Spectro... think I need to see that.

How funny that our cinnamon rolls are the same! ;) Perhaps I'll take some food porn pics to commemorate the occasion. I'm trying to decide. I hear online ADRs open at 6am on Sat and phone at 7. Do I go for 6? It IS Saturday. But I can always take a nap... :rolleyes1

Delta, I have had so many bad experiences with Delta I finally swore off them. They are so notorious for changes and half the time they never even notify you!

For our January trip we were flying Delta Hartford to Orlando and then later in the week Orlando to Nassau. That flight was a short direct flight to Nassau. They cancelled it completely and had us flying to Atlanta, changing plans and then going on to Nassau. Made a quick flight a half day excursion. I ended up cancelling the whole thing and they did refund my money. I told them this was not what I signed up for, not what I purchased and it no longer fit in my plans. Don't give up. Try for your money back and book Southwest or someone else (you fly out of Hartford right?). We are going Jet Blue out of Boston in August. I loved them when we used them in January. I used SW last August out of Hartford and that was great too. I hope you can come to a good resolution. Flying to MI to get to Orlando? That sucks.

And Kona, fit in Kona! You won't be disappointed!

Allyson

I am thinking about Kona for Tuesday! :thumbsup2 What an awful experience with your flights in January! :headache: Mine have worked out (for now) but it is definitely giving me pause. I've never flown Jet Blue or Southwest but I may have to give them a try!

So I just got it that you had a PTR brewing over here... 12 pages worth! BUT I just read it, all your posts and some of the chit chat so I could catch up!!! SO very cool! Hey, we are staying at the BCV for Christmas! Did I see you say that is where you were? The F & W festival is AWESOME. I can only say $8.00 lobster rolls for a snack credit. That and the margaritas and the champagne, yes, I am with you there! It isn't a surprise that I had no idea there were actually things and stores in the WS pavilions, b/c all I every did was follow the food booths!!!

Looking forward to following along.

I have to do ADRs for our Dec trip in August. I am flipping out about the online thing -- I will probably call, too! Curious how it works...

and we have an ADR at Sanaa, so I am looking forward to trying it out and reporting back :thumbsup2

That is just great that you are going with fellow DISers! Astro Orbiter is fun!

Do it! :goodvibes

HappyDog! So happy to have you here! :goodvibes You leave on Saturday... I am SO jealous!!

BCV. I don't have enough nice things to say. I stayed in the villas last Oct and am staying in the regular hotel this time. LOVE the location and the entire resort. You will have a great time!!!!

:rotfl: that you didn't get past the food booths:lmao: I know exactly what you mean!

Can't wait to hear about Sanaa!

Woah.

Dial back.

$8 lobster rolls?

What's that all about? :rolleyes1

Where you been sister? Perhaps you'd better investigate F&W. ;) Food booths rock. :thumbsup2 I think lobster rolls are "usually" (I think :confused3) on the menu in the U.S. food booths? I'm not sure b/c I don't like lobster. :scared:

But I can verify that there are a variety of yummy treats and libations for *relatively* reasonable prices. :upsidedow

yep C... Jen and I's ADRs have to be called seperately (although she's gonna try and sweet talk the CM on Sunday:rolleyes: ) She's booked Sat-Mon by herself ...then we are booked together Mon-Sun. Since I'm the 'primary' being the owner and not on both ressies... they can not be linked:sad2:

bummer really

but she has both sets of conf#s and is gonna try to get them all on Sunday... but it's all gonna depend on the CM she gets.:confused3

Yay for you getting your flights fixed BTW!!

Paula

OK. Now I get it. If either of you had a PTR (ahem :rolleyes1) I might better understand your plans. Well, I only have a one day advantage over the Sunday and a few days over the Tuesday but if there are any that you're worried about I'm happy to try to place them for you on Sat morning (and will spare you my presence!)

yeah... you need to take that up with Mrs 'Jolt' LOL:rotfl2: She's on PTR duty:rotfl: I think the only one we are really concerned with is Sunday... and that's after your checkout, so while I (and she i'm sure) appreciates the offer very very much.... me thinks we will have to take our chances!!

Sure wish there was a PTR so I'd know what mysterious plans you were so keen on for Sunday. ;) :) :upsidedow :rolleyes1

Okay first of all HM at Night is so more spooky than during the day...and well you know what I have never been on the Astro Orbiter so if you want to take me on it by all means...or Dumbo still haven't done that yet either LOL!!!!!!!

At boy do you and P sure lay it on thick...good gravy...PTR launch date is Monday...and we even have a title...so now you have something to look forward too....LOL!!! And no I'm not giving you any hints to the title...this PTR is full of secrets and surprises LOL

Hon, I don't know how, but I missed you getting your airline fiasco taken care of. :lmao: Congrats! :thumbsup2

OK- we're doing HM, Dumbo and Astro Orbiter on MNSSHP night! ::yes::

"We" have a PTR title? Who is "we"? You and Paula? How did you know I was going to ask for a hint. Pretty please?

Remember I hold at least part of your ADR future in my hands... ;)

Hon, I don't know how, but I missed you getting your airline fiasco taken care of. :lmao: Congrats! :thumbsup2

Thanks, TK! I have apparently been very sheltered in my airline travel b/c I've really never had any trouble. This was too much! Or maybe it's just b/c it was messing w/ my Disney fix. No one should ever do that. :sad2:

OOPS! Sorry missed this one -- yes, you can get an $8.00 lobster roll at the F&WF for a snack credit. It is the one think my DH could not stop talking about.... for a snack credit. They are FABULOUS, if you like Lobster, and yes, they are in the American spot!!!

Oh, and YUP, never got past the food booths, that and Maelstrom :lmao:

hmmm me thinks it's an omen... the ad that popped up on your thread for me was for Rosetta Stone.... Let's learn French!!!:rotfl2:

I found the cutest thing at a garage sale its a little pocket dictionary of conversational french and as a whole section about "getting to know" a frenchman better...well suffice to say a new item has been added to the magic wonder known as my backpack LOL!

Too funny- for whatever reason I haven't seen ads on the DIS lately. :confused3

But, hey, if it works? ;)

Keep laughing, missy. Just take care not to reveal your secret Disney crush or they'll "turn on you" next! ;)

LL...has a secret Disney Crush...how do I not know of this...I want a PM soon with details...I have my ways LOL

So this was it. The big day. The day I'd trained for, scoured menus for and revised countless spreadsheets for (how nerdy!!). ADR Saturday. The big dance for DIS'ers.

I was very nervous about the online system but upon hearing that I get the advantage of an hour online - being able to log in at 6am as opposed to calling at 7am - I figured that I'd try the online thing and if it didn't work I'd still be able to call at 7 and wouldn't have wasted any time or let anyone get ahead of me. Who knew this was so competitive! ;)

So I logged in a little before 6am. Put in my resort reservation confirmation number. And viola- it magically opened up my beautiful ADR booking window. Confidence building... maybe this will be ok.

So I had some priorities for this trip. First on the list was California Grill.

No dice. :headache:

The tool lets you search a date range and the only opening it was showing for Cali Grill was for the night I have MNSSHP planned. Frustrated, I moved on. Later I would come back and booked Narcoosee's as a substitution- figuring it is also an MK area resort and also has views of Wishes and pumps in the music. I'll keep trying for Cali but this could be an ok back-up. Have any of you dined there?

Next on the priority list - lunch at Chef's. Check. Dinner at Brown Derby. Check. Dinner at Yachtsman. Yup, that too! Lunch at Sci Fi - cheeseburgers of the World... here I come! Rose & Crown- yes, that too- a little earlier than I wanted so we'll have to eat slow to stretch for Illuminations but I think I can do that! Liberty Tree Tavern for a MNSSHP evening. Chef Mickey's for breakfast. No problem! Plaza in the MK for a farewell lunch - thought it would be nice to say goodbye to the MK with lunch on Main St and then hop over to Epcot and then back to Beach Club to hop on Magical Express.

Then I got to Sanaa. I had heard that it didn't book online but the button to "book your reservations" was there so I tried it. No availability. For the whole week. Weird. But just in case I was able to substitute Jiko, which I love. This way we are at least ensured a drink at Victoria Falls and some night vision animal viewing!

Last on my list is tea at the Grand Floridian, which doesn't book online so I have called for that. All set!

So all in all, I can happily report that I like the online system. The search feature seems to work pretty well - even recognizing my misspelling of Narcoosee's. You put in your desired time and party size and the tool comes back either with that time or some alternate suggestions. Some I got for the exact proposed times others I had to vary by 5-30 minutes. Cracks me up that they can accommodate me at 7:10 but not 7:15 or 6:35 but not 6:30 but who am I to argue? The tool also makes alternate restaurant selections but I'm not sure how "smart" they are. For example, sorry about Cali Grill, how about Sci-Fi? Not exactly in the same league...

As you make the ADR you can enter special dietary restrictions or request a high chair or booster seat. You can gather as many as 10 ADRs at a time in your "cart" and then book them. Your ADRs hold for as long as a 2 hour session while you are planning. I will say that it processed my first 10 ADRs for quite a long time and I was getting pretty nervous. But then it spit out a confirmation page and here I was able to enter in any celebrations for each meal. Your choices of celebrations are: anniversary, birthday, engagement, 1st visit, honeymoon, personal triumph/other, reunion, wedding.

The tool offers you the option of emailing your ADR details to as many email addresses as you want, which I thought was kind of neat. And they are always "waiting for you" in the My Disney vacation section of the website.

So... the final dining line-up is:

Thursday
Special Adventurer's Club dinner

Friday
Liberty Tree Tavern before MNSSHP

Saturday
Rose & Crown - dinner at 7 - Illuminations at 9. Will have to stretch dinner. Don't worry. I'm prepared to sacrifice and have a few cocktails before and after dinner to accommodate. ;)

Sunday

dinner - Narcoosee's - still hoping to get Cali Grill

Monday
lunch at Sci Fi
dinner at Brown Derby

Tuesday

dinner at Kona!

Wed
lunch at Chef's
dinner at Yachtsman

Thurs
breakfast at Chef Mickey's
Tea

Friday

Dinner at Jiko - or Sanaa if we can get it

Saturday
Farewell lunch at Plaza

Congrats on getting your adrs! We ate at Narcossee's last month and loved it! The crab cakes and the steak & lobster were all delicious!
