Does anyone know if this is a real problem in those parking places? (was mentioned on another webpage) Only reason I ask is we will be parking with ALL our belongings in our car before we can park over at Hojo. Does Hojo let us park there if we will be checking in that afternoon? Is that any safer? This is our first trip taking a car and it has me all freaked out!

Coming from a safety standpoint you should always secure your belongings in a trunk/out of sight whenever possible. You can definitely at the very least check your bags with HoJo to hold before check in. I would call HoJo and ask about parking but I believe you can yes but still even so would not recommend parking anywhere - home , travel , etc. with anything in sight regardless.

Nowhere is perfect and this includes Disney and the surrounding areas. Just being smart and prepared is about all you can do.

That's what I'm worried about...we don't have a "trunk"...it's a hatchback. I might suggest to DH we take our stuff over to the hotel to hold. It would just be awful to have nothing! Thank you for your thoughts. :)

I am staying at Hojo in Feb and asked if I could park there early (arriving before noon on check in day) and was told it wasn't an issue and that I could check in (although room not guaranteed to be ready until 4pm) and they could store my luggage. Hope that helps! :goodvibes

We stay at the Hojo regularly. Yes, you can park and check-in when you arrive, even if it is before official check-in time. If there isn't a room ready for you yet, you won't get room keys, but you will get a parking permit to put on your car's dashboard and Hojo will store your bags for you. They have a very large locked storeroom. This would be the safest option.

We have parked inside Mickey and Friends and also in the outside parking area next to the Mickey and Friends structure before with our possessions in the car. It's a hatchback. Basically, when going somewhere we accept the theory that our car could get broken into wherever we leave it, so we do our best to not make it look particularly attractive. We don't have any nice stereo equipment. We don't leave cords and chargers or electronics anywhere visible in the car. Yes, we might obviously have luggage in the back, but we neatly drape a blanket over the top of it all or spread some jackets across the top. We assume that a thief is probably looking for a vehicle that looks like it might offer a more obvious payoff. Might we get unlucky and still end up being the vehicle that gets broken into? Sure. We make sure not to leave anything in the car that we would find a hardship or major annoyance to lose, so, yep, that means if we have an iPad or laptop along on the trip it goes with us into the park that day. No purses or wallets or extra cash or IDs stashed under the seats, but we don't do that kind of thing anyway. Still, I don't believe that car break-ins at Mickey and Friends are rampant, and I don't spend my time in the parks worrying about it.

I'm another saying that OF COURSE you can park over at Hojos.

And have them hold your bags for you, don't leave them in their parking lot.

So far, in DH's world travels, he's encountered two hotels that won't let you check in (and get access to things like parking) early. HoJo is not one of them. At Disney, the resorts know you are traveling, know you have a park to get to, know you don't want your bags stolen, and they have people who would like to get a bit of a tip for taking your bags and storing them safely away then getting them back to you. Take advantage of it.

Yes, Crystal1313 and longtimedisneylurker are correct! You are more than welcome to park your car in our parking lot and we will be happy to store your luggage for you until your room is ready :) You arrive in Anaheim, just come to the Front Desk and so we give you a parking permit.

See you soon!

One more question...is someone always at the front desk at Hojo? We are planning to use our Magic Morning that same day so we will probably be at the desk around 6:30 AM to get the parking permit.

So this advice won't work for you and your hatchback, but for those cars with closed trunk areas, I prefer to load my car and drive away from my hotel, then park at Disneyland, making sure I do not open my trunk once I am parked. That way anyone seeing me at the hotel will think I am driving home, and anyone watching at the parking lot won't know that I have a loaded trunk.
