Brazilian Keratin Treatment..

Oh and you have to use sulfate free shampoo. I bought special shampoo and conditioner at the beauty supply store. $18 a bottle:scared1: I think I'll check out Sally beauty online and find a generic for when these run out.

If you find one, let me know. I've been getting the Coppola Shampoo from ULTA and it's soooo expensive! One thing my stylist told me...you actually don't NEED the sulfate and sodium free conditioner, just the shampoo. Budget saver!

For those of you considering it, know that it only lasts about 4 months. I have really really thick and frizzy hair, and I did mine last May, and I'm starting to notice I need to get it done again. Also, my hair has a bit of wave to it, and if I don't dry it straight, I can still get that wave back if I want to...it's just not as unruly!

And as far as the not showering, don't freak out about it. I tucked mine behind my ears, showered without a cap (just re-blowdried and flat ironed when done) and it still came out great!

You will love it after the frist wash. that's when you can really see the difference! :thumbsup2

I had this done last night too..my 2nd time doing it. I love it! Last time was in May it was getting frizzy and big again, so I had it done. I look like a total greaseball, but it is so worth it. I can wash my hair Sunday AM (I like to give it three full days). I do wear a shower cap - but my hair is short and I can fit it in without twisting or clipping it. One day down, two to go...

So I'm still a little :confused3 about where to get this done. I checked the website, but can't find anything in Louisiana. Do you just call around and find someone who does it? Seems like there should be someone in New Orleans at least huh????
Any suggestions NOLA disers?????

If you have an ULTA near you I know many of the salons in those stores do them. Good luck!

I've been wanting to have this done. I have very thick hair that holds a lot of humidity. I call it Bozo hair when I'm at Disney. Blowdrying and flatironing it is a major chore but an absolute must if I want to look halfway decent. That said, $400 for the treatment that lasts three/four months, plus the cost of the cut, plus the cost of my highlights? Yikes...

The morning of Day 2 for me. I had to use the flat iron a little this morning to take out some creases I got from sleeping on it; but no big deal. I didnt shower; but I washed up. I feel a little gross; but I dont look to bad. I feel like those days you wake up late and cant take a shower. A couple people commented on how flat my hair looks.

I'm glad one of you said about waiting 2 weeks to get color cause I was going to do next saturday but it will only be about 9 days after my treatment. I guess I will wait until the 18th, just in case.

As for finding someone in your area who does the treatment, call around. The higher end salons probably do but also call the smaller ones, they may be less expensive cause they want to get people in. In my salon only 2 of the hairdressers took classes to learn how to do this. Be sure to say the Coppola treatment so they know for sure which one your talking about.

I have seen commercials for a product called Garnier Fructis Sleek and Shine Blow-Dry Perfector , it supposed to keep your hair frizz free for 7 washes. I cant find the cost anywhere but there was a $2 off coupon at http://www.garnierusa.com/_en/_us/blow-dry-perfector/index.aspx#/home

This might be a good solution if you go on vacation or have somewhere special to go.

Wow, this is much different than the Brazilian BlowOut I had done in June. There's no 3 days wait period for washing your hair or any strange rules other than using Sulfate-free hair products.

The process is you get your hair shampooed like 3 times, then they apply the solution, then your hair is blown dry, then flat ironed, then rinsed off. The results are amazing. My hair felt silky soft from the get-go. I could wash it as soon as I wanted to. My hair is about 2 inches from my waist, so it really shorted up my drying time and I didn't even have to use my flat iron. Amazing!

The big test was WDW in July and my hair was perfection. It was a frizz-free vacation! :thumbsup2

This is what I had done as well. I couldn't believe that my hair didn't frizz in WDW in August!! My salon gave the shampoo and conditioner as part of the package deal. I use the Brazilian Blowout serum and I need to use the masque more often than I do, but I absolutely love it.

My DD got it done yesterday and I can't wait to see what it looks like this morning when she gets up :)

For those of you looking for a place in NJ - we got it done at Beauty Solutions in Hillsborough and it was only $199 (they have a special going on-it's usually $250). My DD has very curly (think ringlets and a frizzy on top) and it came out stick straight and didn't frizz up even when she was outside for hours last night.

A friend of mine who gets it done says that she uses L'Oreal Ever Pure on her hair which is wayyyy cheaper than the Coppola or other sulfate-free shampoos and it's also sulfate and sodium-chloride free.

How long is your dd's' hair? Would it have been more if it was longer? That is a good price.

Do you still need to blowdry and flatiron after this treatment. I don't always have time to do this and I am terrible at it. I guess I might not be after the treatment though because my hair wouldn't be so giant.

Ok, I washed my hair and :lovestruc it is shiny and soft and frizz-free. It was so easy to dry and it looks like I flat-ironed it but I didn't. It has body though. I think I'm in love!!

Hi guys! This waiting 3 days to wash method blows my mind, too - no need for that at all with the Brazilian Blowout! I kid you not - I went swimming 20 minutes after getting mine done, pulled it into a bun all night, and was at the beach the next day. Didn't mess it up at all. :thumbsup2

And Disneyland_Mama and I can vouch for each other's results at WDW - we were there together! Not an iota of frizz between us. Want one more validation? I LIVE in West-Central Florida - and I've been frizz-free aaaaall summer. Still have lots of bounce and body, as well as my natural waves, but no fuzz. I can't sing the praises of this stuff enough. I should really buy stock, lol!

I havent made it to my "wash" day but for the Coppola treatment my hairdresser said that I wont even have to blow dry it and it should dry straight with no frizz.

Coppola is the treatment I had done. I have very thick hair that has a frizz and wave to it like nobody's business. I wouldn't say that I could let it air dry without it getting some sort of body/wave. You will need to blow dry it. But I just run a brush through it as my blowdrying and it looks stick straight...and the dry time cut down so much for me, so I didn't mind! I was spending at LEAST 20 minutes blowdrying my hair...now it's less than 5!!!

And I can vouch for these 2 girls...all three of us got the BB done and it's great!! My hair was SUPER curly and hugely frizzy before I got the BB and then it was like fine silk and straight!! The curl's come back, first as a slight wave and then my regular natural corkscrew-ish curls, but no frizz...

I got it done Memorial Day weekend and my frizz started coming back in the last few weeks bit by bit...

It's pure heaven for your hair though!!:thumbsup2
