Brawl at Test Track-Epcot

If fighting in a crowded theme park attraction doesn't qualify as a worst offense, I'm curious what you think does. Selling drugs in the park? Brass knuckling someone?

What do I feel merits being banned from a theme park for several years or life? Within the realm of fighting, I would say these types of things:

A history of repeatedly being involved in fights in the parks (twice in the same few months, or three times in the course of several years, etc)

Physically attacking someone when unprovoked, punching/hitting someone who is trying to get away from you or block those punches while calling for help/ entering the parks with the intent of seeking someone specific out to fight

Bringing in a weapon (item whose primary purpose is as a weapon) and using it against others

Using a level of force that causes, or is likely to cause, serious bodily harm or death

etc.

I agree that someone being verbally abusive is not an excuse for throwing a punch. In his case though, after hair pulling started, rather than trying to remove the person from herself and move away, the person used an umbrella as a weapon and became physical as well--in my opinion that means BOTH were fighting and pretty well equally at fault, from what I can see in this instance both parties bear more or less equal responsibility here. As far as how we treat our children, heck many schools have policies that ALL involved in a fight, even if the child is hit and never hits back and only covers their face and calls for help, are punished equally. I often feel the standards children are held to are wrong, so no, I don't want to apply those even more broadly.

This reminds me of the incident I had years ago at while in line at Soarin at Disney California.

I was in line with family member when the guy in front of me told us "just to let you know" he had a bunch of friends coming in a few minutes and that I would need to let them by. I said no way, you can behind me then. He was like no, you need to let them through. I said no way. Finally he stepped behind me cursing at us. When one of his friends showed up he started telling him how I made him move back and wouldnt let anyone cut. For the next several minutes he continued to throw insults and curse and threats at us. Everyone in line was just looking at disbelief. I tried to tune it out but it was getting to me. This guy was hurling insults and cursing over and over. I finally reached a point where I was going to tell him to shut up which might have led to an escalation or I got out of line. We got out of line and I went to the CM and told her what was going on. She had security there in minutes.
He told us that he was going to go talk to him and said that he was going to tell him the same thing that he was also going to tell him. That was if we saw each other in the park later we were to walk away in a different direction. At that point the CM at the front of the line seeing how upset we were with the situation, told us that she take us inside to the front. I said that was not necessary I didnt want to cut in front of others but she and the security insisted and we went. Later in the park we did see this same guy. When he saw us, he bolted in a different direction in a hurry.

In 2008 Disney was sued because a women was attacked in line and she said no one helped, they can't have it both ways. If the CM stood by and this trash beat someone to the point of injury they would be sued for not stopping it. It does not matter who hit first, self defense no longer applies when you can safely back away, someone getting in your face or touching them does not give you a free ticket to beat them senseless.. A the umbrella is considered a weapon.

I haven't been on DisBoards in awhile, and remembered this thread...
What ever happened to the CM??? Did he get to keep his job?
