I am thrilled to see the new "sticky." I truly hope it will deter the type of posts this forum has recently been flooded with. If it doesn't, I hope the consequences mentioned are adhered to.

Thank you so much!

ITA!
Any questions regarding the use of the plan that are not answered specifically in the WDW Dining Brochure cannot be accurately answered on these boards and should be addressed to WDW Dining.
The rules are pretty explicit (now), and if folks want to ask questions about "creative" application of the rules, they should ask Disney directly.

I am so glad to see this! I did not like the way things wer heading and had stopped coming on the DIS as much as I used to.

I am glad to see that we will stop some of these offensive postings by a selective few. BUT, I think it is horrible that others can share their experiences regarding the plan even if it is stated differently in the brouchure! What is the purpose of the discussion board if you can't discuss. The purpose of these dicussion boards is for others to share their experiences. It too bad that the moderator did put a stop to those few individuals who were causing conflict and insult to others. Those selective few have ruin it for the rest of us! We should thank them!

You can't have it both ways, though. Either off-brochure discussions can happen, or they can't. You can't decide to have only one half of them, because you agree with one side and disagree with the other.

Brian is right. You can't ban one side of a discussion. Some posters found discussions on how to cheat offensive and others found the concept of posters suggesting that guests follow the rules to be rude and offensive.

I'd like to see more discussion on which restaurants have good food and less discussion on how to maneuver the plan. I also applaud the moderators.

same here. Between all the threads on sharing lately, and the threads complaining about the threads on sharing, and then the threads complaining about the complaining........... :faint: .....well, you get the idea.

Thank you Mods........ :worship: :worship:

Now we're back in business....:drive:

Just a thought. While I don't condone cheating or bending the rules in any case I am a little concerned with the new guideline.

For instance, I really like the thread which lists and CLARIFIES what is considered a snack option. This is going to be very useful when I go in September. But under the new guidelines shouldn't it be removed?

This is a privately owned board so they can do whatever they want, it's their right. Personally, I'll live with it because there is so much useful information on here.

However, once you start restricting discussion topics you may inadvertently bring helpful or useful discussions under the scrutiny of the guidelines as well. Now the moderators are put into a position of interpreting the new guidelines.

The way I handle a post I don't like is to stop reading it and go on to the next one hundred or so. :surfweb:

Speaking for the moderators of the Restaurant Board, we want to thank everyone for the kind words and honest opinions expressed here. We do appreciate any and all feedback.

While we certainly do not want to censor what is discussed here, we do want the boards to run smoothly with no arguments. We thought the best way to achieve that in regards to this issue would be a clear and concise look at Disney's rules for the Dining Plan.

At this time, the snack credit thread will remain posted. It mostly gives first hand reports of the "official" Disney policy...what items people have seen with the DDP logo. There doesn't seem to be any personal interpretation of the plan, but just what Disney displays as snacks.

We appreciate you all helping us to keep the Restaurant Board the fun, friendly, and helpful place that it is.

I totally see your point... but remember that there's a trip reports board, so there's still a place to share experiences!
