Bras (unusual sizes)

Was recently fitted at Nordstroms, the fitter was very good. She was not at all a fan of the rule of thumb that I've heard for years that you could go up a band size and down a cup size for a similar fit. Said they really don't recommend that for most women because getting the correct band size is crucial to having the bra fit all over, including cup.

The website http://www.herroom.com/ has a fantastic selection of bras of ALL sizes - great place for those hard to find combination. Don't think their normal prices are much if any less than normal retail but if you need a particular size that's difficult to find, this is a good place to check.

I have pretty good luck with Playtex brand.
Also look at Glamorise.

The problem is that when you start getting into the bigger sizes (DD, DDD) you tend to spend more $$ on them no matter what.

I will second the bare necessities website.

I used to think I was a 36D but always had issues with fit. I got measured at a boutique last year and they called me a 32F. I have to say it makes quite the difference in fit and spillage. BTW I am not huge either... It isn't like the girls are the first thing you see.

I have bought 4 bras from Bare necessities and they all fit the first time right out of the box

having always been silly sizes (32 FF at 14!, now at 38, I'm about 36 J or I!), I would agree to get fitted well, then be sure to find a good company that makes a cup that fits. Every brand is different, so. Goddess may have a fuller, rounder cup, where another brand may have a less round cup size. This can make a huge difference.
One thing I have found, however, is thAT once I find a brand in a size that works for me, I can often get them much cheaper on amazon. Lots of companies seem to use them as a clearance. I have bought goddess bras for $20 or so. May not be the prettiest, or the color I like, but between spending $80 or $20, I can deal with it!:lmao:

They aren't that big at all. 32D is the same cup size as 34C or 36B (or 30DD), because cup size is in proportion to band size.

Sorry, I cannot help with where to find the 30DD (I'm a 32D, or sometimes a 34C if the brand has a tight band, so have never looked for a 30DD), but I wanted to point out that you aren't crazy in not thinking of them as being that big.

Thanks! They actually look bigger on me now than hen I was heavier because I am smaller overall.

I agree about VS not being all that accurate in sizing.
