We are going to Branson on a II trade in July. I had to change one already made that was in Gulf Shores, but this late, no beaches left. So, Branson it is. I have my choice of any of the places II trades into. Any suggestions as to where we should stay? It'll be me, DH and DS (7). We'll leave the baby at home! Thanks!

OH, and ideas on things to do would be great. I'm sure we'll do Silver Dollar City and the waterpark, but other ideas would be good, too. Thanks

Don't forget about the Titanic museum. My son thought it was very interesting. His 8th grade class took their end of the year trip to Branson. They stayed at Big Cedar Lodge and told us it was really nice.

thanks- I don't think Big Cedar is a II trade, but we'll see. Dh wanted to see Titanic, so that is on the possibility list.

Things to do in Branson:
  • Silver Dollar City (or as we used to call it, Steal Yer Dollar City)
  • WhiteWater (a water park)
  • The Showboat Branson Belle (a show/lake cruise)
  • Ride the Ducks (a tour on land/water vehicles)
  • Go to Shoji Tabuchi's theatre and see the show and admire the bathrooms
  • Go to Lambert's -- Home of the Throwed Rolls (it's in Ozark, about 30 miles north. Totally worth it)
  • Rent a boat and enjoy Table Rock Lake* (skiing, tubing, bluff jumping, fishing etc).
  • Branson Landing has great shopping
  • See one of the gazillion shows available morning noon and night
  • Shepherd of the Hills Homestead

*Note: The Branson idea of a beach and your idea of a beach are probably not the same. The beaches on Table Rock tend toward the gravelly/pebbley. I recommend Tevas. Also, while Table Rock Lake is warm and great for water sports, Lake Taneycomo is frigid. As kids we'd have contests to see who could stay in Taneycomo longest without wussing out/permanently losing feeling in major body parts. Good fishing though.

Be careful about riding the "ducks". There have been multiple incidents were people drowned on these boats.

Really? Wow! I rode as a kid and really want to ride again! I'll have to google that to find out the specifics. Thanks!!
