UGH! okay first the stats....well, what I have of them

31 years old (crap almost 32)
5'9
probably 150lbs, give or take a few, that was a month ago at the docs..no scale in the house- so can't be REALLY sure
size 30x32 pants are fitting pretty loose, womens size 8, juniors size 7...HOWEVER the remnants from the 2 back to back pregnancies when my 28 inch waist became a 52 YES, 52 inches AROUND...are lingering.

My body is very athletic by nature. I'm built more like a 'man' with very narrow hips, and not much junk in the trunk. dont get me wrong, there is junk, just not a lincoln trunk. I'm hovering right around a 29 inch waist, 32 inch hip, and 38 inch bust (yeah, D cups with a 29 inch waist- looks as akward as it sounds lol )

So why am I doing this you ask? Ah the old stand by- I want to be healthy. No thats a lie, I want to wear a WICKED sexy 2 piece in Aruba in May! I graduate with my degree on DBF's birthday and we're leaving 2 days later for a week in Aruba. Yes, it's true, I really wanna be 'sexy'...

What am I doing? Slowly getting back into the lowcarb/atkins lifestyle. i did this before, after having DD10, and was able to drop some serious fat/weight. I also know that during the induction phase, I can't do much for exercise because I am such a carb junky by lifestyle. I am going to hit some serious detox, withdrawal, blood sugar jump/drops over the next 7-10 days. Once that's over, I can get my but to the Y and run/walk/swim etc.

I start my open water scuba class sunday, so I'm actually going to be in a bathing suit sooner than May, however, it's a guard suit, and I can wear a wetsuit LOL>

I start my clinicals in 3 weeks, and my hope is to get into a normal food/exercise routine before that. My clinicals are 3x a week, so if I can get going before that starts I have a much better chance at keeping it up.

Mainly I am going to stay under my 20 g of carbs, and consume 15-17 of them with veggies and roughage.. Once my initial phase is over, probably 4 weeks, I'll be able to work my way back up to approx 50 g a day, and be able to maintain where I am at that point. I have a feeling by May I will be tight and able to wear whatever bathing suit I may want.

My overall goal would be to lose a few pounds, maybe 10-15, tighten up my abs, and lift my bust. I will be doing some serious upperbody work with free weights once I get over induction, which should help put the girls back to where they started.

Day 1, january 2nd...

woke up and made my decaff coffee, with splenda.

DBF had made me bacon the night before in anticipation of this day, and I had my 3 egg bacon and swiss omelette.... man that was good!

Ended up grabbing some celery with cream cheese for a quick snack around 11

Met DBF for the day and spent it in his truck- not a good way to lose weight let me tell ya. This is why truckers are built like they are!

Had 3 16oz waters in the truck, and another decaff with splenda since it was 8 below zero where we were!

Had handful of baby carrots for lunch/snack and couple more glasses of water.

Ended up going out for dinner- rough on my first day I tell you! I'm such a baked potato type girl....carb junky I swear!

Ordered a sirloin and side salad. Because I didnt get the potato, I got pickled beets, and cottage cheese...ate it all and darn was it good.

Did have a michelob ultra with dinner, but I was pretty low on the carbs for the day so I'm okay. Diet coke with dinner too, but thats okay.

Ended up coming home and stopping at a truck stop- got another diet coke, came home grabbed a couple more carrots and went to bed!

No exercise, except walking the dog, which is more like standing while he sniffs than walking!

ARGH....day 2 starting to feel the carb kick....man I would love a potato! (January 3)

ANYWAY SLACKER.........no really I didnt have one!

Breakfast, again was bac swiss omelette. gotta love them! It's the only kinda egg I can eat without toast, so omeletee it is.

Decaff with splenda....of course!

Had to bring my truck to the dealers, so HAD to go to DnD for another cup of decaff, cream 1 splenda LOL

Came home, had some diet coke.

Not much for water today- crap...just realized that

lunch was a salad, lettuce, peppers, radish, carrots, celery....I dont 'do' tomato's....I also don't 'do' dressing...odd eh?

no snack this afternoon yet, but heck it's only 130.

Did an ab dvd for 1/2 hour- no cardio, but thats okay.

Dinner tonight I think is going to be chicken. If I get my truck back it will be a chicken stir fry type thing...if not chicken it is alone!

Finally got the Durango back and was able to get the groceries that I should have gotten 2 days ago!

Made it out of the store alive, and read a ton of labels.

Have a feeling my diet coke issue will become a Pepsi ONE issue since it's made with splenda instead of aspartane....not sure if I'm going to like it...but I bought 2 12 packs and 3 2 liters LOL

They had a wicked deal on boneless chicken breast, on sale for $1.29lb..stocked up on that. Picked up some more veggies, and cream cheese....10 boxes of sugar free jello.....and I even had the kids looking at labels. They did get junk food, but I made them get stuff that I didn't like :)

Cooked up 3 of the breasts, made a box of jello and cooked a pack of bacon for the next couple of days.

One thing I also did was clean and cut all the new veggies and have them ready to grab and eat or grab and throw in a salad or whatever...

So far so good..but I probably oughta buy a scale huh?

It sounds like you are off to a good start. You are so smart to be losing 10 pounds, instead of waiting until you have LOTS to use. If I was aiming for a "sexy bikini body", I would have to be talking about May of 2011!! :rotfl: For now I would be happy to fit into my size 12 and 14 shorts that are in my drawer.

I am so envious of the bacon/swiss omelettes! I am back on WW points and have been VERY hungry over the past three days! That was one difference I noticed between the two diets (I tried Atkins a few years ago when DH was on it.)..... I am MUCH LESS hungry on a low carb diet than I am on WW. But the nice thing about WW is the ability to save points for special treats.... like ice cream and cookies and POTATOES!

Anyhow, keep up the good work...................P
 
I have never done weight watchers, only know people who have. I'm not all that great at keeping track of what I'm eating and how much etc. that's where atkins comes in for me. I know what I can and can't eat, and I can tell by the amount of food if it's in my target area.

I really should have been back on atkins and exercising a long time ago, but I didn't...and now it begins!

yeah- go eat that potato...heck- eat two, one for me!

okay here we are...day 3, (january 4) and for some reason I haven't hit my wall yet... it's coming......I'm not sure when...but I'm hoping soon!

Breakfast was once again, a bacon and swiss omelette...god they are good! I actually was at the restaurant where I work for breakfast.....ordered my meal, sans potato and toast. Thankfully I brought my splenda packets, for my decaff coffee....I knew we didnt have it.

I didnt have a 'real' lunch...had some carrots and celery, and a pepsi one - which by the way has a weird after taste...not sure what it is...

Dinner was back at the restaurant, and I had a grilled chicken breast, and a huge 2 trip to the salad bar. :)

i stayed on task with everything today, but am still having a hard time drinking enough water. I mean, come on it was 6 below this morning....I'm really not in the mood to drink ice cold water!

I have no problem drinking water. But lots of people are posting on the DISappearring peeps thread that they like to add the crystal light to go packs to their water bottles.

They are sugar free and come in lots of flavors.

I use the fake ones for a change up or a evening snack.

Day 4 January 5th

Today wasn't bad as far as eating went- I stayed true to the induction, consumed my 14-20 G of carbs, and no junk.

Then, a couple girlfriends stopped and off to the bar we went. Yeah- BAR...= BEER == CARBS!

Now I'm a michelob Lager girl- full flavor, 14G of carbs in each bottle...yup thats me. My joke is I eat a loaf of bread in every 6 pack. Given that I'm an atkins girl I have to switch to Michelob Ultra.....I must say, it's not the same.... you pull those carbs out and you take out most of the flavor- but who drinks beer for the flavor? Yeah, nobody.

I ended up having 6 ultras- or 12 g of carbs :eek: :eek: yeah...

the only benefit was that after we got home (it was early)...I decided I probably should exercise. So I did. I ran.... er...jogged....er...walk/jog.... 1.5 miles, 3/4 of that jogging, and I felt then and feel now great!

Can't say that I've done it since but eh.

Day 5, January 6

Aight, up at the crack of dawn this morning. Had to be to work at 530, alarm went off at 400. YUCK...remember those 6 beers? Yeah, so did I. DBF was here too which made sleeping something that wasn't going to happen.... er... I still burned calories :goodvibes

Woke up and had my morning decaff with splenda and 1/2 and 1/2 coffee....and was off to the rodeo. No, I don't work at a rodeo, I waitressed today :)

Had my bac/chz omelette for breakfast and a grilled chicken with couple carrots for lunch. Brought my Pepsi One with me, and drank most of that. DBF stopped in around noon with a DnD great one, decaff 1 splenda cream big ol cup of joe for me :lovestruc

Left work at 3, and had to drive down to Manchester for my 1st Scuba Class. Yup, I put on a wet suit. those are not built for women. I dont care if they say "womens" on the tag...I do not enjoy a uni**** at all. Now, remember the "D" 's I spoke of earlier- yeah...smoosh them into a wet suit. Not so pretty. Anyway- I was amazed that when I was measured for my BCD, I actually was put into a Medium by the instructor. I Don't wear anything on my upper body that is a Medium. Well, now I do.... My scuba vest is a medium! My wet suit is still a Large...but thats okay...

Went to Ruby Tuesdays for dinner after (dbf is a master scuba so he was with me)...they have the BEST salad bar. I have never been to a Ruby Tuesdays before. The fancy salad bar, has a cold air blower, blowing on the food. The salad was the best 'salad bar' salad I have ever had. Everything was ice cold, just the way I like it. Ordered a chicken dish- had a parmessean cheese sauce, but not a thick one... it was good..with the steamed broccoli. The waiter looked at me funny when I said no potato... 5 times....no mashed potato....no garlic potato.....no baked potato....no rice.....no mashed cauliflower (god that just sounds nasty)... But he finally just brought me chicken and broccoli. Had a single Michelob Ultra for 1.5 carbs, and stayed within my limits!

Came home and my quads are a bit sore from the jogging on Saturday night. thats okay though cause not painful. I can do stairs, I can pick up the pace when I walk still. But they certainly let me know I did some running!

I did it.

for the first time in my adult life, I have a scale in my house. I never wanted a scale because I do not believe it tells you anything other than your total body weight. It doesnt take into account your muscle, water, etc... yeah- long story short I just dont like them :confused3

Back in the end of November I had a doctors appointment and weighed in at 156...........I knew I had to be somewhere around there, because my clothes dont fit much differently than they did then. I also know that because I am on Depo, I will stock 5-10lbs until I go off it. November I went back on depo. By now, January I should have gained my 5-10 stock of fat storage.

I also have been eating HORRIBLY until last week when I went back to Atkins. I would go out to eat with DBF, order an appetizer, like a bloomin onion, have a couple pieces of bread, order a steak and a baked potato, and wash it all down with 4-5 Michelob Lagers, THEN have some horrible chocolate desert.

Yup thats what I did for the past couple of months.

I guess I'm at a disadvantage because I did not weigh myself just prior to starting atkins...last week.

BUT right now I weigh in at 152.1

yup, 4 lbs less than I did at the doctors. My guess is, I gained that 5-10lbs of fat storage, probably gained another 5 lbs or so, and actually lost it during my first 7 days on Atkins. well, at least I hope thats what happened!

Okay- there you go, Brandy owns a scale and she actually stepped on it

Day 6 reporting January 7th

Breakfast once again- you guessed it bacon and this time provolone omelette. Went up to work to see a friend who waitresses opposite of me and had it at work- used Egg Beaters this time... was pretty good, I couldnt tell the difference.

Drank my coffee - decaff and no sugar or splenda because we dont have that at work and I forgot my splenda packets...yuck!

Left there and headed home. Started my water journey. ended up drinking 3 Dansani 20 oz bottles...not too bad. Also drank enough coffee to float a boat, and had 1 pepsi One.....

Lunch was some turkey and cheese

Dinner was a whopper of a Taco Salad...those are actually just as good without the taco shell. honestly I dont really like taco shells...this salad was wicked good....belly is still full couple hours later.

Spent awhile getting some food ready for the week. Sliced up some peperoni, cooked up a pack of bacon, and hardboiled a dozen eggs. Washed a head of lettuce, cut some cukes and peppers and got them ready.

tomorrow it's back to chicken, I got a new marinade, with 1 gram of carbs, a lemon pepper one. Going to cook up 3 breasts with that...DD11 will eat one of them, and the other "spare" will be for lunch on Wednesday.

Bought some 5 lb hand weights, and once I finish this post, and scan some others, I'll be going to shape's website to find some free weight exercises to do......cardio didnt happen today- my quads are pretty sore and I know better than to run/walk/jog again if they are.

Thats it for today

i might just jump on the scale again tomorrow morning and see what it says- I guess from here on out I can add it to my title...oh thats scary!

So Day 7 (january 8)

Did quite well today eating....but the big news

Jumped on the scale and saw 149...yup, below 150! I still wish I had weighed in last week when I officially started this trip but eh...I'll take the 3lbs

Had hardboiled eggs for breakfast

The typical decaff and splenda coffee

Lunch was lean sliced turkey, and cheese

Drank 3 Dansani 20 oz waters

Dinner was WICKED good...I found a marinade packet at the grocery store, garlic/lemon/pepper for chicken...ZERO carbs, mixed with water and oil, adn OMG was it good! I even made butter & herb rice and didnt have ANY of it...

So I ate my chicken, with cucumber slices and green peppers.

later for a snack I had some peperoni and a few carrots.

I still need to work on more water, but I'm getting there

Way to go Brandy!

Once you can scuba, where do you plan on going?

We have a trip planned for May, which originally was Aruba, but then DBF found out that a dive shop he dove with 15 years ago is still in Nassau, and still offers the shark dive that he didnt get to do then. Looks like now, we're staying at superclubs breezes because we dont want to do a dive vacation....he wants to dive with that company...

Day 8, January 9

Well, things went perfect right up until dinner time. DBF and I went to TGIFridays and I ordered a sirloin with brocollie- and my michelob ultra. DBF orderd his budweiser, and they brought him a bud light. He sent it back, and when they brought it it was in a can- well, an aluminum bottle. DBF wanted to send it back and just get a michelob light, but they wouldnt take it back. Being the 'good girlfriend' I am, and knowing that DBF just found out the Harley dealer installed the wrong exhaust on his bike, never called to tell him, then tried to get him to just accept the exhaust that was $200 less than the one he bought...and the fact that he was about ready to snap...I swapped beers with him. So there went 12 grams of carbs. I finished it and went onto water....the jerk!

Anyway- that was the only screw up I've had, so I guess its not that big of a deal, and I actually recovered well and did not continue on a down hill slide...woke up this morning and went right back to the correct breakfast at the restaurant with decalf and I brought in my splenda since I knew they didnt have any :) So minor set back.....but quick recover

Back on track, but smart enough not to weigh my self this morning!!!!

Day 9 January 10

Started back on the track this morning! Didnt bother on the scale, well I wasnt home anyway....

We went out for breakfast and I ordered just the bac/cheese omelette, no homefries or toast. The lady looked at me weird but I dont care. She delivered my food and said "wow that looks lonely" DBF quickly came back with...yeah, but her butt looks better and better every day so she'll never be as lonely as the omelette! :rotfl2: man I love that guy..

drank 4 waters again today, but had more pepsi one than I should have....lunch was turkey and cheese, and dinner was a hugo salad...snack tonight will probably be a few peanuts....

DBF is stuck on a layover again tonight, so I'll spend most of the night on the phone with him no chance to stuff my face!
