BRAND NEW CORONADO SPRINGS FAQ THREAD w/ PHOTOS (PART IV)

It's a rainy morning here in Minneapolis and I enjoyed scrolling through everyone's recent photos. It seemed like a good time to sift through the ones I took on my May 8 - 11 stay at this lovely resort. I stayed in Cabanas 8A, which was a perfect location for me.

I am heading to CSR for the 2nd time on June 10th paid for a standard view ......I want to make a request and stayed in Ranchos last time right near the dig site. But I want to see if I can get a renovated room ( does it matter if I only paid for a room only rate? ) What should I request and where and does anyone have the fax number for CSR ..ANY HELP IDEAS OR SUGGESTIONS ARE APPRECIATED.... I will even keep your hammock warmed on my vacay to CSR :thumbsup2

I asked this over on the dining board, but since it is an issue rather unique to CSR, maybe someone here knows the answer. I love that CSR has its own mugs, but I collect mugs from our trips so I'd really like to have both the resort mug and the red Celebrate! mug.

We're on the deluxe dining plan for our upcoming trip, so our mugs are paid for already. Would it be possible to use 3 of our mug credits at CSR for those mugs, and the remaining two when visiting another resort to have the Celebrate mugs as souvenirs, or are the mug credits assigned to the resort where you're staying? IIRC from our first deluxe trip, they printed on the receipt just like meal/snack credits, so I'm thinking you could use them at any Disney dining location, but I was hoping someone had first-hand experience with this.

Anyone? :confused3

Awesome pictures. Can I copy and paste and put them in the CSR Photo Thread? :)

Getting a renovated room has nothing to do with what you paid for (the difference in price is if you paid for water view or king room). I would decide what section you want to be in and then kindly request a renovated room. All of the rooms are done in the Cabanas, Casitas 4 and 5 and Ranchos 6A and 6B (Ranchos 7B is almost complete...not sure if it will be done when you get there). Good luck and have a magical trip.

Colleen, I'm not ignoring you, but I don't know the answer to your question. I'm hoping JamesLynn will show up and be able to answer that for you.

Just back from a quick trip to CSR with DH. We had a great time and CSR is my new favorite resort. We were in Casita 5 with a view of the lake. Although I requested the cabanas I fell in love with the casitas. Next time I will request a room in the casitas section with a fountain view as the courtyards with the fountains were so peaceful. I wasn't crazy about the food at the resort but the beauty of the place more than made up for it. The pool was awesome and we had a blast on the slide. Thanks to all of the pros here that gave me the info I needed to plan a great trip! I'm already starting to plan a family trip for August, 2010 at CSR. I'm in the process of posting a full review over on the trip reports if anyone is interested in reading.

Thanks for posting. I'm so glad that CSR has become your favorite resort! Look guys...we have a new member of the family! :woohoo::woohoo:
I'm enjoying your report and just so you know...DH and I (both over 50) LOVE the slide too!

We certainly aren't spring chickens ourselves but we love the slide. It's always a must do at least three times!

Hmmm. I've been avoiding this thread because every time I read it, I want to go back to CSR! We were there in November. And now I'm thinking I need a birthday trip in September. :)

Can't think of a better birthday present! party:

This is my first post. Not sure of this is the right place to post this.

This will be my 5th trip to Disney World.
First trip, Disney Cruise/Honneymoon --Carribean Beach Hotel--tropical storms
Second trip (with kids) --unexpectedly 20 weeks pg at time of trip- stayed off site.
Third trip- stayed at Port Orleans Riverside- Hurricane Wilma hit while we were there. DH and DS x 2 were ill during the trip
Fourth trip- stayed at Port Orleans Riverside-had emergency neck surgery 2 days b4 we left.

I am trying one more time, I am taking kids by myself 8/26/09-9/3-09 by myself. My dh does not want to go. My 16 yr old son picked this resort because of pool. I also have 13 yr old dd and a 8 yr ds that will be celebrating his 9th bd while we are there. Want to make this a trip to remember for the good things, not the bad!!

What would be the best area to request for us. We plan on doing lots of swimming, but I also want to be near bus stops and food court.
Any help would be much appreciated!!!!

First of all.. better luck this time!

With what you described, I'd suggest Cabanas 8B.

I can tell by the strain in your typing :rolleyes1.....yeah plus you need a base tan for the November trip so you don't get burnt :rolleyes1....plus you need to check out the reconstruction progress to make sure it will be done by the time November comes around :rolleyes1....plus Mickey is missing you and you don't want to make your friends sad :rolleyes1....It's your birthday why not :rolleyes1.........I could go on all day

I hope this trip turns out better than all the others. Your kids are going to love the CSR pool and they also have a sand volleyball court right by the pool that the kids (all three of them) can play at. And maybe the 16 year old can watch the younger ones while you get a massage? :goodvibes

I agree with the pp -- Cabanas 8B would be an ideal location or we always stay in Casitas 4 or 5 which are about an eight minute walk from the main pool, but located by the quiet pool and the fitness center/spa.

Happy planning.

:welcome:

WELCOME to the DIS and the Coronado Springs Resort thread! You will love both!!! :goodvibes

Your DS has good taste & you will ALL love this resort, was there just last week & already can't wait to go back!

I would also recommend the Cabanas, but as you look through this thread, take a good look at each area: Cabanas, Casitas & Ranchos b/c they are so unique, you may find one area appeals to you more than others. I loved Cabanas b/c it was a bit like CBR in that they are colorful, two story buildings w/ "beachy" theming...but .... wait til you see the rooms, they are so nice!
Closest to deluxe rooms by far.

The more you read ahead & know, the more you will get out of your resort experience and Disney trip, so you are in the right place for sure. :thumbsup2

Some of my best trips ever were when I took my kids on my own.
You're going to make magical memories!!! :wizard:

:goodvibes We are leaving Tuesday for our favorite resort!!! :goodvibes If anyone has any picture requests at the resort (or the parks) or anything I can check on, I'd be happy to help. Just let me know!!! :)
