We leave in 37 days for our vacation at Disney World. I am getting very excited about staying at CSR. This thread is awesome, I've been reading it for months, and it has really helped with the planning.

We've been to Disneyland the last few years, so I'm excited about getting back to the World. This is a surprise trip for my boys, ages 8 & 7, so they won't know we're going until the morning we leave.

One question, that I don't remember seeing asked is that we are driving to Disney from Texas, so we'll have our car at the resort. Are there any parks/water parks/Downtown Disney that are better to drive to instead of using the bus? Are there any parks/etc that are better to use the bus because the parking is a hassle? We will have the AAA parking pass if that makes a difference. Just want to make the most of the transportation options.

Thanks,
Jess

Ok, here's my dumb question for this trip. I know what the fax number is, and I know what my requests are, but what do I send? Do I need to have a cover page? Does it need to be Attn: room assigners? I have no clue! :lmao:
Thanks guys! 4 more days!

For the parks, the bus is best because it drops you right off at the gate with no hassles of parking and taking the tram/boat/monorail to the front door. MK especially since you park at the TTC and the resort bus drops you off at the front door! I usually drive to DTD just because it seems the buses run too infrequently. Also, I usually take one good trip and buy a whole bunch of stuff, so I don't wanna lug it back on the bus! I can just put it all in my trunk until the end of our trip. As far as the water parks, I have no idea other than they usually share a bus with DTD or AK if I remember correctly. But I would take the bus cause I don't wanna get my car seats wet :rotfl:
Have a great trip!

also the beds were no way queen beds at least in the rooms we had. We have a queen at home and the beds at CSR seemed real small.

]

Reminds me of our experience a year or so back at the Hilton in Phoenix, we requested a newly rennovated suite with 2 queen beds. Well the room was newly rennovated but they were the smallest queen beds I've seen! My two teens were protesting having to share that size bed. I walked back to the front desk and the sympathetic clerk explained that they were "hotel queens slightly more compact than a regular queen" HUH??

Anyway "hotel queens" are now a family joke for us. :lmao: And the reason we will book two rooms at CSR rather than one!

My only experience with busses from CSR was on one night when we ate at Maya Grill, however here is my two cents...since you have your car you may be glad of it on the days that you are going to a water park especially if you plan to go to a theme park at night - you could save some time particularly if you have ADR's somewhere. Our experience with the water park busses, when we stayed twice in the past at POP was that there could be a circuitous route to get there and home as well as a wait at the water park for the bus afterwards. I'd be interested in your experience afterwards if you do elect to take the water park bus as we are staying at CSR without a car in September - we can't wait, we are just so excited!!!

Glad that you had a good trip.................can you tell me what view you had from your room in Ranchos 6B? Also, from there how long did it take to walk to the main pool, quiet pool and the Pepper Market?
Thanks in advance!
Debsx:woohoo:

I assume this question is for me?

We were on the second floor, facing grass and trees, if on the other side we would of had either a quite pool view on one side or rock landscaping on the other 2 sides. I thought I took some photo's, but I guess I didn't. The last photo I posted is Rancho 7A, but the rocks in the back ground is in front of 6B.

Main pool took just a few minutes to walk to it wasn't far at all.
Quiet pool was just down the elevator or steps and a very quick walk across the walk way.
Pepper Market was about a 10 min or so walk. I never actually timed it thou. A couple times we drove the car around, since we were picking up food from Cafe Rix and didn't want to carry it.

Rancho's really isn't a bad location, we actually enjoyed it. The walk to the bus stop just took a few minutes also.

We were located about where the 6 is located on the 6500 on the 6B building. Here is a link to the map. http://allears.net/acc/coronadomap.jpg

I can only speak about Blizzard Beach and the bus is shared with Animal Kingdom. They drop off at Blizzard Beach then Go to Animal Kingdom. On the way back they pick up at Animal Kingdom then go to Blizzard Beach. With sharing the bus there was always room on the bus, yes some had to stand, but it wasn't overly packed. This was even on 90 + days.

Sorry I haven't been around today, guys. Today would have been my dad's 83rd birthday, and I took the day off from work to do some things around the house that I could hear him in the back of my head telling me that I'd been neglecting. Well, I made it through the day with crying only once. Mark and I decided to clean the basement and I found my dad's high school yearbooks and that's when I started to cry. But other than that, I've held it together. One more major day to get through during this first year without dad and that is in August and the day my dad died. We've made it through all the holidays and his birthday. I still miss him a lot :sad1: but each day does seem to get a tad easier.

I think everyone's questions that I missed today have been answered. If not, post again and I'll try to get back to you.

:grouphug: I'm so sorry. I lost my dad several years ago, and I still miss him every day. It does get easier though, and I can see him in my children. :grouphug:

Kathy I hope your feeling comfort from your family being around you. The first year seems to last a lifetime. My thoughts are with you.

Kathy, you've been in my thoughts all day I'm glad you felt your dad near - I feel it is such a help.

I was wondering the same thing:confused3

I was wondering the same thing:confused3

We've always addressed ours to: CSR/Room Assigners. I then write something like:

Dear Friends at the CSR:

We are arriving for our much anticipated trip on _______, ______, __, 2009. We would be most appreciative if we could have a room in Casitas 4 or Casitas 5 as this is our favorite section.

Hope this helps! :)

:hug:Kathy. I lost my dad 10 years ago, and there are still days that I find myself reaching for the phone to talk to him. And I do hear his advice in my head when I'm facing a difficult problem. It does get easier, but he's still missed.
