Only 25 days until check-in! :cool1:

I checked availability online (thinking of changing to a package with the QSDP), and the only availability at CSR on May 15th is in a one bedroom suite. Yikes! I'm hoping to have a room in the cabanas or at least a renovated room so I can close the doors and get ready without waking the kids, but I think I should just feel lucky to have a room!

They were touching up paint when I walked by this morning.
It's going to be a few more days until they are finished.
I'm not sure when they are going to start the next building. Rainbird is coming starting this week and they pretty much fill up our resort.

Jamie, Do you think that Casita 4 will be finished by next week ?
Also, who is "Rainbird" and how long will they be staying? ;)

Only 6 more days for us. We are so excited!!!!:goodvibes

Hmm I didn't know you could request a microwave... is it free or is there a charge like the fridges at Values?

Anyone know where I can find out what the Grab 'n Go store has to offer?? I am particulary interested in whether they sell skim milk and half n half and what the prices are. I know that some of you Coronoado Springs experts must know!

Also, is there a way to find out which, if any, conventions might be there during our stay (Aug 27 through Sept 3rd)??

Many thanks for your help!

I can't answer that one as we've never gotten a microwave in the past.

Here is a picture of the menus--it is the best I have and I'm not sure you'll be able to see the prices. I know that I've bought the little cartons of milk in the past -- DH has to have milk every morning with his medications:

As for conventions, here is a link to the last list I have. Please note that it is NOT all conventions. It is what was found by a former DISer by doing a google search and from ones that were sent to us:

ok someone ease my worries, I keep seeing all these conventions that are going on while we're at CSR and now I'm worried (again) that we won't get our requested building because the resort will be full. Do convention guests get priority over reg. guests? I really would like a renovated room in the cabanas, we had it noted on our ressie and we plan to fax also. It's a centralized area and not too far from everything which will be easier on my back (herniated disc in my back, the less walking, the better). Ack! Make me stop worrying! lol

Okay...deep breath in and release. :thumbsup2

I can't guarantee you will get what you want. But with a herniated disc I would certainly tell them when you are registering that you have this issue and that it would be of great benefit to you if you could have a room in the Cabanas section. The convention guests can be all over the resort--we've known them to be in all three sections. I guess a lot will depend on if they are already there when you check in, etc. If the Cabanas don't work for you, decide if you want to be closest to the food or the pool and then ask them to put you as close as possible. For example, we always do Casitas 4 or 5--it takes us five minutes to walk to the main building and eight minutes to the main pool. In the meantime, here is some pixiedust:pixiedust: that you get the Cabanas.

thanks for the quick reply Kathy. I'm trying to take some deep breaths lol

We check in on May 3rd and according to what I've found online about the conventions that is in the middle of I believe 2 conventions and I saw jameslynn talk about another one that fills up CSR, it all has me a little worried. :(

We're renting a car so we've decided that we don't mind being far from the food court as if we want to use it we can drive up there and save me a long walk but we do want to be close to the main pool so I can walk my ds over there not be worried that I'll be in mucho pain when I get there, he loves swimming and will probably want to use the pool every afternoon if not 2 times each day! I will already be doing a lot of walking at the parks (albeit slow walking with lots of breaks) but I don't want our room so far away from everything that I end up sitting alone in my room twiddling my thumbs while DH takes the kids to the pool.

I also kind of sold DH on this resort by showing him the renovated rooms so now he's worried that we won't get one because they will all be gone, yep I've got to him too lol :rolleyes1

Thanks for the pixie dust, I'm also crossing my fingers and my toes (kinda)!

We arrive on Wed. :cool1: I'm so excited. It will be our 1st stay at CSR.
I am curious also who/what Rainbird is?? So.....it sounds like the resort will be full while we are there. We have requested to be in the Cabanas so we can get a renovated room. But I'm sure we will be happy wherever we end up.;)

Wish we were already there, we are having some nasty weather here today in Western NY.:sad2:

The only Rainbird I've heard of is a sprinkler company -- they make sprinkler systems and sprinkler heads.

To all of you with upcoming trips: enjoy your stay at CSR!

Hey guys!
Kind of off topic here.....but I was wondering if any of you CSR fans are on MySpace or FaceBook and would like to add eachother as friends?

If so, PM me your ID's and I'll send you mine in return ;-)

I know there is a general thread for facebook/MS names on the community board, but I would feel more comfortable adding some of you that I chat with here on the CSR thread with regularily, kwim?

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Nope, don't like the coffee. I actually no longer drink "coffee"...I have a cappucino or two every day from Starbucks so I'm really spoiled. And DH loves his Dunkin Donuts coffee. That Nescacrap is just BAD.

I have never really been a coffee drinker. But in the past couple of years I have been drinking Cappucino to. I haven't tried the Starbucks kind though,I just make instant-----probably no where as good as a real one :coffee:

We check in one week from today, 4/27.... how does it look for crowds at the resort? I dont see any conferences for that time.
Also, when should we fax our room request? We're driving and we leave Friday so I will definitely need to do it before then.
Thanks....this will be our 1st stay at CSR and we're very excited!!!

We check in on the same day.

There is a Cheerleading All Star Coach convention the 27th and 28th and I believe FTD Floral convention for a couple of the days we are there.
AACSB International 2009 International Conference and Annual Meeting is going on from the 26th to 28th.

I was going to send my fax in on Thursday!

We have a waterview reservation for our upcoming trip. I've requested 8A or if not available, by the bigger pool. I'm thinking of adjusting to a standard view and saving almost $200 because if we are at the resort we will be at the pool or eating in the main building. We have never spent much time in our room and we absolutely maximize our park time. My question is are there many waterview rooms by the pool areas...I'd hate to think I was spending money on something it was unlikely I'd get anyway!

TIA for your advice and opinions!

It should be finished.

Rainbird is the sprinkler people. They'll have 2 convention over a course of 2 weeks. They are one of our bigger conventions and are amazingly super nice. Infact, most of the people who attend bring their families with them.

My family just spent 9 days at CSR. This is our new favorite resort! I think I enjoyed the pool slide as much as my kids! We were in Cabanas 8b room 8660. We were close to the quiet pool and directly across from the laundry, which came in handy. I enjoyed the warm walks to El Centro and it was only a few steps from the dig site and bus stop #4. My younger daughter came down with a stomach bug and the CSR staff couldn't be more accommodating. We were celebrating our 15th anniversary. We were given extra desserts and one day the bus driver had the whole bus sing "Happy Anniversary" to us. We loved Pepper Market and Rix. I don't have one bad comment about the place and I am quite picky. The updated rooms were beautiful. I liked the actual doors to the sink area instead of curtains. We had plenty of room near the window for our twin aero bed. You could easily fit another bed in front of the TV/dresser if needed. I only saw two or three parties walk by my room all week. It was very quiet. I have stayed at Beach Club and All Star Music Family Suites in the past and both were busy and noisy. We have always gone the week of Easter each visit.

Thanks for all of your advice KatMark and Buzz! I requested 8A or 8b and it turned out fantastic. I am very sad to be back home. We are saving to visit again in a year or two.

Do convention guests get priority over reg. guests? I

Not always. There are certain instances were a group is guaranteed to be in a certain area. Those areas however are usually Casitas 1 & 3. These are small groups that usually get the guarantee and it is placed into their group contract.
Larger groups don't get the guarantee and are placed everywhere. However, we tend to keep the VIPs and staff members close to the Convention Center.
