BRAND NEW CORONADO SPRINGS FAQ THREAD w/ PHOTOS (PART IV)

DH and I will arrive at the beautiful CSR in a little over a week. It is our first visit to this resort and we are more than excited about it!

It is just the two of us and we will be celebrating our anniversary on this trip.
We want a room that is quiet and secluded and romantic.
We are not concerned with the bus stops or with being close to the main buildings.
We do currently have a King Room with a note on our Resy that its our anniversary.

Should I still fax a room request to specify that we want a quiet and secluded room for our anny?
Should we request one close to the quiet pool? Or at least a room NOT overlooking a parking lot...
I also want to request a room that is renovated - but the Casitas 4 and 5 are not for the most part renovated yet.
Do you experts have any suggestions for us?
Or should I just not send a request at all and happily accept whatever room we get? :goodvibes (which is what we've always done!)

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this thread. I've followed it for a while and have taken lots of useful information from it!! You guys are great! :thumbsup2

First, congratulations on your anniversary. We celebrated our 25th anniversary at the CSR this past September. We normally stay in Casitas 4 or 5 as we like being close to the quiet pool and the fitness center/spa. For our anniversary, we were upgraded to a junior suite and were in Casitas 3. We've never had an issue with noise or feeling crowded in any of these buildings. Now, we've never stayed in the Ranchos, but I understand it is very quiet back there since everyone seems to think it is the "furthest" from everything so it is the least filled up if the resort is not filled and it just seems a little more "remote" to me. We're thinking of asking for it on this trip.

Casitas 4 was started about two weeks ago. JamesLynn indicated it takes about a month or so to finish each building. I'm hoping she'll be around in the next day or two to give us an update.

I think the aerial shot of the Dig Site pool is my favorite. It gives the best perspective of where everything is. I am getting so excited for my trip!

Thank you for the info! Decisions........decisions! At least I have a long while before I have to decide! :thumbsup2

Just found this board and the amount of info is amazing! We will be staying at CSR in June for the first time. I have a question about the bus service to the parks. Do the busses pick up in numerical ordering, starting at El Centro, or is that the last stop, meaning it may be too crowded to board in the morning? Also, I read there are golf carts to take you around the resort internally, do these run at all hours? Thanks very much!

The bus stops are picked up in this order: Bus Stop 2, then 3, then 4 and then 1 (which is El Centro).

The "golf carts" do not take you around the resort any longer. They will take you and your luggage to your room but they no longer take you from one spot of the resort to another.

Sort of a stupid question... maybe I'm just confused, but what do the non-renovated rooms look like?

I believe that all full/double beds have been replaced with queens, but not all the rooms have been renovated yet. But they had to at least replace the bedspreads or they wouldn't fit the new beds, right? We're considering Ranchos and wondering if new vs. old room will really make a difference to us.

JamesLynn,

Do you know when Casitas 3 will go down for renovations?

It seems that Casitas 4 will be completed by the end of April. Would Casitas 3 be the next in line? I'm arriving May 30th and my favorite locations are Casitas 1 and 3. Getting a renovated room would be nice but location is more important. Plus I can always request 4th floor and hope for the best :thumbsup2

I don't know when Casitas 3 will go down.
I believe that they are going to start on Casitas 5 next.

I think this is what they looked like but not sure.

All rooms are being rehabbed. Half of the Ranchos are done; all of the Cabanas are done; part of the Casitas are done. The entire rehab should be done by October 09. Thereh are rooms in the Casitas that still have the full beds as these are being switched to king beds (approximately 100 rooms).

Here are pictures of the new rooms and the old rooms:

Hi all I was wondering if someone could help me out.

I'm looking to book for September 2010 with free dining on the QSDP (I'm from the UK and for 2010 for moderates we get the QSDP) I'm now leaning towards CSR over POFQ

Am I right in thinking that the pepper market is part of the quick service plan?

Also if the rumours are true and the Pepper market is changed to a buffet which will no longer be on the QSDP will Disney let me change to a different resort?

Cheers

Am I right in thinking that the pepper market is part of the quick service plan? Yes it is!

Also if the rumours are true and the Pepper market is changed to a buffet which will no longer be on the QSDP will Disney let me change to a different resort? I would think as long as you change 30 + days out you should be able to change resorts. Just any additional cost you would have to pay.

Cheers

answers in red, the second question is just my guess, someone with more Disney experience may be able to confirm this.

We just got back from a lovely stay at CBR and are already planning our next If I request the Cabana's to be closer to the pool will I be screwed with an overly packed bus since that is stop 4 going to the theme parks?? From the furthest point of everything how long is the walk??

I have never been on a crowded bus leaving from CSR. And we've always stayed at CSR in August. The only time the buses have been crowded are the returns from the parks at closing.

wow- are you serious? Being in a differnt part of the world you get cheater eh?

We too are now planning for Sept 2010. My 500 days is coming---May 7th

I am curious to know abuout the PepperMarket "thinking" of becoming a buffet. For now it is a counter service. And one of the best counter service when you look at spending money for free-
In the begining of the year PepperMarket wasnt plced on the dining plan because it is not a disney owned property-- they soon signed their deal right after that.

I love Coronado. Heading back for my 3rd visit this August. I can't wait to see the new rooms!
