Hi all, We are staying here for three nights before our Disney Magic cruise next month. I was wondering if anyone knows what time the main pool with the water slide opens and closes??

Thanks so much!
Kelli

Hi, Kelli. The normal pool hours for the Dig Site are 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 a.m.; lifeguard on duting from 10:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. Siesta's, the bar/food at the Dig Site, normally opens at 11:00 a.m.

What a wonderful thread! So much information, I can't wait to get there.

Can anyone tell me how big (or small) the safes are? From the picutres it looks just like a little hole in the wall?? Are they big enough to put a camera in? Or is it just big enough for passports and papers?

Thanks!

In a week will be there!!

Truthfully, I'm not sure what time the slide closes. My guess would be when the lifeguard goes off duty. I do remember being there last year in the pool around 10:00 at night (dark) and the slide was not running. I am sure this is a safety measure.

It is a hole in the wall, but I have put my small digital camera in it, as well as my wallet and my bag with jewelry.

I will need to take a cab from CSR to the Swan for our Port transfers. Should I have Guest Services call a cab for me or most likely one will be available for anyone that needs one?

99.9% of the time there are cabs waiting at El Centro. Whenever we needed one we could walk out to the portico and a Bell Services Cast Member would call one up.

So excited - we booked our first CSR trip for the first week of December! Thanks for everyone who's contributed to this thread, all the great comments and pictures made us so excited to book this trip! :cool1:

We love going during the holidays and the park and resort decorations (particularly CSR) are gorgeous! :cloud9:

We will be there the first week of December too! Can anyone tell me if the bike rentals will be available that week? My 2 sons want to know if they will be able to rent bikes to ride around the resort. Thanks!

are you sure about all rooms having queen beds since the booking engine on the disney website says all rooms have double beds and even the resort page for the resort list the hotels as having double beds, can anyone confirm

CSR NEWS AND UPDATES

1) NEWS!! - Here is a 2009 Dining Plan Brochure dated 12/18/2008 and it has all CSR restaurants listed for the dining plan: DDP Brochure

2) LATEST UPDATE!!! - The opening of the club level rooms in cabana 9b may be on hold. Some people are reporting that they have been offered free upgrades to other concierge resorts for their club level reservations at CSR. Turns out the soft opening of CSR concierge rooms didn't go as planned and they will be revamping a bit. For the foreseeable future, CSR will only use the rooms as Business Club Level for convention groups that book those rooms. Otherwise they will be used for leisure guests but the lounge will not be open to them. So I don't know if foreseeable future means forever or until they straighten out the kinks since the concierge rooms didn't go as planned and they are going back to the drawing board.

3) NEWS!! - All buildings in every village now have queen beds. The only rooms left with full size beds are the 100 rooms that will be converted to king size beds. These rooms are scattered throughout the resort. Cabana 9b (Club Level rooms) has reopened and pictures of the redone rooms are filtering in. The room rehab has also begun in the casita section. Casita 1, 2 & 3, 4th floor are done as are some rooms in Cabana 9a. Work is on hold until after the holidays.

4) RUMOR - WI-FI will eventually be offered throughout the resort.

5) RUMOR - The Pepper Market will undergo some changes in the future. A date has not been set but that will be the next big project at CSR. Spring Foods is looking to transform the Pepper Market into a Boma style buffet.

6) NEWS - The marina at CSR will only be open on a seasonal basis. Here are the dates through summer of 2009.

February 15-21, 2009
April 5-18, 2009
June 1 - Sept 7, 2009

7) UPDATE - The changeover to QUEEN BEDS is complete. All the buildings have already been updated to queen beds. There are 100 rooms around the resort that do not but all the others are complete. These 100 rooms are being converted to KING rooms so that is why they still have the double beds.

8) Coronado Springs will be replacing the double beds with queens and new furniture to suit modern tastes; but still in theme. Another 100 rooms will get upgraded to king beds. Cabana 9b will be transformed into a club level building with rooms described below. The décor is still being tweaked, so cast members still have not seen the prototypes; but construction will start next month. The aim is to provide a level of experience that is equal or better to most upper end resorts outside of Disney. For instance, all of the rooms now are getting modern flat screen TV’s. Tables are being replaced with desks so that floor space is preserved after putting in larger QUEEN beds. Most of these updates are done with great stealth, so visiting guests will not be aware that changes are happening. New rooms will just magically appear and some buildings simply won’t be available for a short period. Walt Disney World, as you would expect, is getting itself set to continue to be the best vacation destination in the world. Some accommodations are getting a little out of date, so Disney is moving up to the future.

Business Club Level services include personalized Front Desk and Guest Services, turndown service and a lounge with continental breakfast, midday snacks and evening wine (additional fee) and cheese. All Business Club Level Rooms have two queen-size beds or one king-size bed, desk and chair, vanity area with sink, a ceiling fan and a bathroom. All rooms are non-smoking. Amenities include DVD player, in-room wall safe, voice mail, data port, hairdryer, iron, ironing board, mini-fridge, robes and coffee maker. A crib is available upon request. Wheelchair-accessible rooms are available. These rooms offer views of the lake, courtyard or parking lot. No structural changes except for removing some walls to create the lounge. Some amenities will be upgraded on the club level. There will be an upscale décor and tiled lavatory, tub, and toilet areas. WI-FI will eventually be throughout the whole resort.

Among the hotel's green features: a towel and linen reuse program to conserve energy and water, an advanced computerized energy management system and a recycling program for visitors and staff.

As reward for the designation, Florida recommends Green Lodges to companies and trade organizations seeking environmentally conscious lodging and convention facilities.

IN THE MIDDLE

* The Pepper Market is either a love it or hate it place. We love it but some guests just don't care for the set up.
* Convention resort - some guests don't like seeing other guests at work. Doesn't bother us and helps keep the buses empty. GF, Cont, BW, Y & B Club are also convention resorts.

It still lists double beds because there are approximately 75-100 rooms that are getting new king beds and they have not been converted yet. Otherwise, all the rooms getting queen beds have them.

I stayed in the Ranchos last Sept and the room had queed beds-

I do have a question- the re fillable mugs- are they the same old ones from last year? And are they all the type that wont fit into the cup holder of the car?? (the mugs at CSR were still resort specific last Sept and the 'old style)

Yes, the CSR has the same mugs and same size.
