Please...my baby will be 21 in two months and I'll be 51-1/2! 46 is still young! :rotfl:
Got you beat, Kathy - my d turns 20 soon, and I'll be 54. You guys are babies!

Kathy and Buzz were such a fabulous help to me when I was planning our first trip as a family last year.
Today we were talking as a family about where we will try to get in for free dining on Monday when we call to book.
I loved CSR and had absolutely no complaints.. but I was thinking maybe we'd try to switch it up this time and try a new Mod.
You should have heard them!!
But Mom.. the pool slide rocked! But Mom.. the Pepper Market had those awesome nachos... and then my husband pipes in about the chicken wings and the landscaping and the wonderful buses (this is the guy who wasn't even a little excited for Disney last year:rolleyes:)
They laid it on really thick.. "No bus sharing!" "We want the Pepper Market" "Remember the alligator we saw mom!!??!"
So I thought I would share this with you to let you know your help last year made some incredible memories for our family and it looks like we're going back
Thank you!
We loved CSR as well, but I'm sorry to report that the nachos are gone at Pepper Market. I hope they bring them back for your kids!

Now I'm just wondering if I should keep my Sept. reservation - the free dining offer scares me crowd-wise - or my Dec. reservation - my birthday; I'm Jewish so Christmas isn't an issue or a particular draw for me. Oh, well - whichever I choose, I'll be at CSR!

My oldest is 23 though!

We've done free dining the last three years and we love that time of year. It is hot and you may get rained on. But we have never waited more than 10 minutes for any attraction with the exception of the mountains--Space, Splash, Thunder, EE and 20 to 30 minutes for Soarin'. The restaurants are crowded but that's why you make ADR's. With the exception of Whispering Canyon Cafe this past September (30 minutes past) and Boatwright's the year before (45 minutes past), we were seated within 5 minutes of all our ADR's. That being said, I would love to go at Christmas one time and see the decorations. Perhaps when "my baby" is done wrestling in college we'll finally get a chance.

We had two reservations at POP for May (7 nights with the 4/3 deal and then room-only for 4 nights), but just decided to see what was available with the spring code. I just switched our last 4 nights to CSR and am so excited. The difference in price... 50cents per night!

I've been looking through all the websites, pictures, and info I can find since yesterday. I think we may spend a good portion of our time just walking around the resort and enjoying the pool.

One question I was not clear on-- Are there elevators in all of the buildings? I asked when switching our reservation and the was told "all of the resorts have elevators". I know that's not true of certain sections of POR and CBR. We can walk up stairs, but we have two pre-schoolers so we'd rather not have to carry them and their strollers if they fall asleep on the way back to the room.

There are elevators at the CSR (there are no elevators at the CBR).

Can someone tell me how the PM works?
I have been there a few years ago, but I can
not recall, I know there was something about a
card I give to the place I order, were do I get the card?
Does someone seat us? or do we find our own tables?
What about the drinks, do they bring the food to our
tables or do we wait at the counters for it?

Thank you

You will be greeted and seated at a table and given a card (or a card per person). A CM will take your drink order and bring you your drinks. You will then take your card up to the counter where you want to order. You will place your order and they will stamp your card with the food you ordered. You will wait at the counter for your food. When you are all done eating, you can then go get your dessert and that too will be stamped on your card (you can get the dessert at the same time you get your meal if you want). Once you are done eating, you will take your card(s) and pay on the way out of the restaurant. If on the dining plan, there is mixed feelings on whether you are charged the 10% gratuity. We have never been charged it on the dining plan, but others have. To prevent this, you can ask for a "to go" ticket and get your food, pay for it and sit at one of the great tables by the lake (we do this 90% of the time because we enjoy eating outside in the Florida sunshine and people watching).

God I love that sunset! :)

When we were at CSR in February, it looked like the hibiscus plants had just been planted in front of 9B. Does anyone know if they're blooming yet? I'd love to see a picture of all of those colors in bloom.

I'll try to check on the hibscus plants - I'll be there next week.:goodvibes

I actually prefer this resort because it isn't as heavily themed as the others in Disney motife. This suits our teenage boys much better than the rest. After this stay, I wouldn't consider spending more for the other resorts.

We are in the same boat DS 18 yrs old and DD 14 years old.
No Mickey everywhere - but we do hang some Disney themed Easter clings in the window when we go during Easter weeks (will do again in 2010).
WL, CR and the Dolphin have also suited our tastes with little or no Disney theming.

CSR was our teens moderate choice for the PM food slections, the queen beds, flat screenTV and the Dig Site Pool (the slide is 123' long).

Not yet. They got rather beat up when we had a few days of freezing temperatures and are being replanted.
