BRAND NEW CORONADO SPRINGS FAQ THREAD w/ PHOTOS (PART IV)

Booked yesterday for free dining (Aug. 18-26) and we chose CSR and it will be our first time! I am very excited and I can't wait to read this whole thread. We are hoping for a renovated room and put that in our request. We also requested Cabanas because they seem to have the most renovated rooms.

I'm so excited. I just faxed my request in to CSR for Monday's arrival.

While I would like to stay in the Cabana area (have been in the other 2 areas already), I'll be happy with anything!

All of a sudden, the trip is just around the corner and I'm so excited!

And I remember someone saying it was so far away.... Have a great time and please write a report when you get back and post pictures.

We just returned from Coronado Springs yesterday. We took a quick trip after some family members received some unexpected time off (rather laid-off, but all is well as retirement was already planned for the summer)... This was our first time to Coronado Springs. Since we were there and had the Pepper Market as an option, we did the Quick Service plan and it worked out well. I talked to the cashier at Pepper Market to find out about the 10% charge that dining plan users do not pay. The staff receive nothing from Disney- of course then I actually sat down inside to eat one day and realized that the staff only brought silverware and a milk to me- not at all like a regular server...

We had a refurbished room in Casitas 1, 4th floor. I had placed this request on my reservation and then sent a crazy fax that basically begged for a refurbished room. It worked. Very nice-loved the bedding.

I checked in several days prior to arrival and was very pleased when I showed up and the whole packet was ready with no line! There was a long line at the regular check-in. I love this new option and I think frequent visitors like to get keys and get going.

I sent bottles of water from Costco that read "Leisure Guest, not business ctr." They were sent to the business center and I was charged $10 for handling. $17 for 24 bottles of water is still cheaper. The handling charge is based on weight.

Sending water

Depending on how the items are shipped depends on where it will go. UPS, DHL, FedEx all go to the business center regardless of who it is for.
About the only type of package we would recieve at the Front Desk is USPS.

Also keep in mind that if you arrive after the business center has closed, you will have to wait until tomorow to get the package. The business center is run by IKON now and they do not want us going in there. Their hours are from 7 am to 7 pm.

We faxed a room request 4 days prior to travel and got a refurbished room in the Cabanas (8A) The beds were very comfortable, the refrigerator had to be turned up, since it was actually too cold for some items, and being so close to the bus stop and the dig site was perfect for us with 2 teenagers along. I actually prefer this resort because it isn't as heavily themed as the others in Disney motife. This suits our teenage boys much better than the rest. After this stay, I wouldn't consider spending more for the other resorts.

Thanks for posting, Renita. Glad you enjoyed your stay at the CSR and got one of the new rooms! I'm so jealous that so many have seen them already. We, too, like that it is not so "themed". We really don't need Disney 24/7 after being in the parks all day. We like to come back and relax and the CSR offers us just that. Glad your teenage boys enjoyed it too--it was always our boys favorite (along with the Poly). Our oldest is going in July and he's not happy that he won't be at CSR.

By the time we get there, the rooms will not be new anymore. Guess that means I'd better find an excuse to go sooner!!

We feel we are immerse in the enchantment by staying in a Disney resort. The only resort I would stay again is SSR - that was just too much like a condo and I felt a million miles from Florida, never mind WDW!

Exactly how we feel. We've stayed at many of the other resorts and kept finding ourselves wishing we'd just stayed with CSR and saved a LOT of money!!! It's our very favorite.

Kathy and Buzz were such a fabulous help to me when I was planning our first trip as a family last year.
Today we were talking as a family about where we will try to get in for free dining on Monday when we call to book.
I loved CSR and had absolutely no complaints.. but I was thinking maybe we'd try to switch it up this time and try a new Mod.
You should have heard them!!
But Mom.. the pool slide rocked! But Mom.. the Pepper Market had those awesome nachos... and then my husband pipes in about the chicken wings and the landscaping and the wonderful buses (this is the guy who wasn't even a little excited for Disney last year)
They laid it on really thick.. "No bus sharing!" "We want the Pepper Market" "Remember the alligator we saw mom!!??!"
So I thought I would share this with you to let you know your help last year made some incredible memories for our family and it looks like we're going back
