BRAND NEW CORONADO SPRINGS FAQ THREAD w/ PHOTOS (PART IV)

I hope it doesn't sound like I hated the place -- that is not the case at all. It was fine. But yes, I would have been much happier if we had a renovated room, and our frig worked (it was not a deal breaker, it was just aggravating), and if we had a view of a pool or of the lake. We didn't even actually have a view of the fountain, our room was in the area overlooking the fountain area. We had to walk out our door to see the fountain - if we looked out our window we saw a large patio area. They hold events out there for the conferences - so we got to watch a 'mixer' event one afternoon :)

I thought about trying to switch rooms, but when we checked in they told us the cabanas were all full. We were only there 4 nights so I just went with what they gave us. I may call and try to get the 'water view' extra cost refunded, for the Principle of the thing.

Oh, no, it didn't sound that way at all! You all clearly had a great time, but who wouldn't enjoy it more with a nicer room, working fridge and view you paid for!

As to calling for a refund - I would suggest emailing WDW Guest Communications: wdw.guest.communications@disneyworld.com . Once you leave it can be difficult to work with the resort directly. I would suggest beginning by complimenting the resort and CM's, then explain the view situation.

At POR we had a waterview room that really was a silver of water, seen between the full pine trees, IF the wind blew in the right direction. We had a lovely corner room with a view of pine trees and the parking lot - which was very nice, but not at a waterview price. I asked the manager to give us a call and when she did explained the view situation - she did say it was considered a waterview, but I asked if she could come have a look - that maybe it was when the resort was new, but no longer. She did come by and changed our room to a std view, refunding the difference. :)

Good luck and let us know what happens. :thumbsup2

It's nice to hear so many good reviews of CSR, and also that the bad ones are few and far between and not that bad.

We are off to CSR in 12 days!!:woohoo:

We are planning on sending a fax as we have requested connecting rooms and want to make sure we get them. However on our confirmation sheet from travel company we are listed as 4 extra persons!!:confused3 We are going with my parents, sister and her family they are all down by name. We just must not be loved as much:rotfl2: !!!!!!! Hope this doesn't cause problems.

Thanks to everyone who has supplied advice it has been much appreciated from me the only planner in our group. I just cannot go out each day without my index card detailing plans, park times and ADR's:sad2:

Not long now, I can't wait much longer (I am worse than the kids!):dumbo:

Pretty soon you'll be doing the single digit dance.

When do they start putting out the christmas decorations? :santa:

We have to go back to Florida for a baptism in the fall.. I was just wondering when they start decorating?

Thanks
Tim

I haven't been through the whole thread so forgive me if this has been answered already. Is there a date when all of the rooms will be renovated? I have a trip planned for the end of July and with two teenage daughters, myself and DH, I'm really counting on 2 Queen beds. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

The redecoration of the rooms is due to be completed about October but the resort has already been switch to queen beds in all but about 100 rooms which are going to become kings bed rooms.

Just keep an eye on this thread and then you can request a renovated area :thumbsup2

I don't post on these threads too much, but I definitely lurk! :goodvibes I've really enjoyed reading through this thread and am leaving in about twenty minutes to catch a plane to WDW for a surprise trip with our kids. I'm excited to stay at CSR for the first time! I chose this resort based on everything I read about throughout the posts about the resort, so thanks to all! My husband and I took our kids on the Disney Magic for Thanksgiving and were booked at CSR for two nights before our cruise but ended up getting a great deal to upgrade to WL. I can't wait to arrive at CSR! Thanks again!

Hooray. Nine weeks until another wonderful Renfroe Family Trip Report--I can't wait.

Awwww...thanks, Kathy! We are looking forward to doing another trip report....it provides great therapy for adjusting back into the "real world" after the anticipation of a WDW trip. :rotfl2: I promise to take LOTS of pictures of CSR to add to this thread! :cool1:

Susan, if I didn't miss you, hope you and the family have a magical vacation. And we hope that you end up liking CSR half as much as we do. It is our fav! :thumbsup2

Kathy - I thought you and your husband were going for a quick trip sometime this spring?

Or am I confusing you with someone else? Entirely possible! :rotfl2:

No, we thought youngest DS would want to go. Instead, he went on a cruise to the Bahamas. I was thinking of going with oldest DS in July (he is coaching his baseball team down there and I was going to keep the girlfriend company), but unfortunately, DH got a pay cut and we just can't swing an extra trip (I'm still hoping we can go in September if nothing else develops).

Here are some pictures we took during our stay in July of 2008.

We were upgraded to a junior suite. This was the 2nd room with 2 wicker chairs, a tv, armoire, desk, and murphy bed.

Sorry your plans fell through! Hope you can still make your annual Sept trip! We're going in May this time, staying at Shades of Green to get the extra daybed. After the Florida resident rates were announced a couple of weeks ago, I checked CSR and it would be almost exactly the same price as Shades of Green, but we wouldn't have that extra bed. Since my sister's family is going too, and my nephews really don't like sharing a bed any more (they're 18 and almost 13), we're sticking with Shades. I was really tempted, though!

Thanks for keeping up the FAQ - you're doing great!

Will be on the road again in 5 hours. Trip report coming soon and will try and post from the parks/resort using Blackberry.

Time to get some rest for the 7 hours on the road we have left.

Hope to check in at 3 and then straight to MK! :yay: :yay:
