Thank you KatMark, I knew that was going to be the answer, but I just wanted someone to validate it for me. I guess it will be nice to get a new one and if it is bigger the kids will love that.
We actually bought the year of a million dream one in 2007 and on our last day, we gave them away to a couple that was checking in. When we went back in 2008 they were using the same ones just without the date on them. At that point I wished I had not given ours away. So this year I thought just maybe, but I figured I would have to buy again.

I remember someone posting a link a while back with a schedule of the conventions going on at CSR, does anyone have that link?

How much does a convention effect the overall resort? If a convention is starting the day we check-in will there be chaos?

and finally...does CSR do anything for Cinco de Mayo?

I just called CSR directly to discuss my reservation and had some questions. I am confused about the buses that are supposed to take you around the resort. They said that the buses only take you to the theme park. I asked if there was a shuttle or way to get on a bus outside your room and get off near the main bldg and they said no. :confused3

Hi Everyone!!

I am so excited, I am booking a trip from 7/25-8/1 with the 4/3 deal!!!:cool1: :cool1:

I have never stayed here before & I can't wait!!!

I have a couple of questions if you do not mind answering them:
-Do all rooms have refridgerators (I know I spelled that wrong)
-Do you think the room reno's will be completed by then?
-According to all of Buzz's wonderful info, the Cabana's section would be the best request?? If not please elaborate. I would like to be close to pool/PM.
-Is there a preferred section like in CBR or POP. Not quite sure how that works.

TIA!!! I really appreciate any & all responses!!

Andrea

Congratulations! 1) Yes, all rooms have refridgerators; 2) the rooms should be about 3/4 done by the time you are going (the rehab is scheduled to be done by 10/09); 3) the Cabanas are closest to the PM and the pool; we always stay in Casitas 4 or 5--a five minute walk to the main building and an eight minute walk to the main pool. There is no "preferred" section at CSR--only standard, waterview or king.

Here it is (we usually send it in about three days before we arrive, but always request a section when making our original reservation): Fax: (407) 939-1001

Hello we're here!! Arrived yesterday around 10am, check in was smooth, and of course our room was not ready yet, so we just sat outside in the warm sunshine which felt marvelous. We walked around abit and checked out the place. Buzz it is as beautiful as you said it was. Well our room was ready at noon, so we went up in the elevator to our room in 9B second floor :cool1: Anyway my husband got in the elevator, then I went in and all of a sudden I slipped on something and down I went on my bad knee, and I twisted my ankle!!! OH NO.....well that did not go over too well as I said my husband jinxed me!! He kept saying something was going to happen before we got here that I was going to hurt myself somehow!! FUNNY!! Anyway, we got our grocery delivery at 12:30 and then I called the front desk and told them what happened and asked if they had any ice packs? She said no but she could send housekeeping to get some ice in a bag, I said thats ok we could do that. She did ask if I wanted to see the inhouse doc, but I said no as I don't know if my insurance would pay for that. Anyway we looked around the resort and just took it easy I kept ice on my ankle and kept it up all evening. This am it was sore, but off to MK we went it was not busy at all and we just about walked on everything!! We had to take it easy as my foot was killing me.....finally I had to go to first aide and they gave me some ibuprofen, and an ice pack, so my husband and I went and sat on a bench near Tony's and I put the ice on my ankle and put my foot up on his knee!!! Cute site!! Welll after the parade we went back to the resort and rested, I kept the foot up again, and put more ice on it. We left for dinner at the Beach club, and then just came right back.....foot up again, and more ice......tomorrow is our actual 20th anniversary and are hoping to go to Epcot, we will just have to take it easy again thats all. But I have alot planned and some surprises too.....:lovestruc I will just try to push through the pain and keep going as much as I can!! Darn thing.
JamesLynn glad to see you back, hope to meet you. When do you work? And you work at the front desk?
Buzz if you see a lady with ice on her foot, in the hammock outside of the cabana's 9B don't tip her over, that would be me!!!!! :rotfl: And god knows I don't need anything else to happen!!

First, please understand that even if you call a resort "directly", you're still connected to a call center. You don't get someone at the front desk. So they may not know what they're talking about.

Now for the buses. To go to any of the parks, the buses come to the stops in this order: 2 near Casitas, 3 near Ranchos, 4 near Cabanas, and 1 near El Centro (the main building), then off to the park. So you can get on stop 2, 3 or 4 and get off at stop 1 - no problem.

There aren't any shuttles other than the buses, though. You'll still have to get to the bus stops.

So DH and I are booked for a king room. Do all buildings have these and are they renovated as well? I would really like to be in 9B, do you think it's possible and should I fax a request for that building?

Question about the soft drinks at the PM. Does anyone no if they have the coke slushes like they have at the POP? This is DS  favorite drink.

All areas have king beds and CSR is adding 100 more for a total of 224. Yes, the buildings that have been rehabbed included the king rooms too.

Hi! I'm new to this site and already am loving what I see!!! Thank you!!!!

My family is taking our 2nd trip to Disney World June 8-15, 2009. It's me, my hubby, and 2 boys aged 5 and 7. This time, my best friend is coming too with her daughter. The first time we went, we were at Pop. Loved it. This time, we want connecting rooms at CSR. We got a standard room (both rooms). Is there any special request I can make to where we don't have to walk a long time to the parking lot? We're renting a car. But, I also want a decent view with a standard room. What are your suggestions on special requests for room location?

:welcome: to the DIS! Nice to have you join us.

Here is a link (scroll down until you see Buzz's pic) where Buzz (our CSR authority) shows the parking at the CSR. You'll see that the parking goes all around the resort so that each section has parking behind it. We always rent a car and stay in Casitas 4 or 5 and it takes us less than 2 or 3 minutes to walk to our car to drive to the parks. I hope this helps a little.

KatMark, thank you sooooooooooooo much for your prompt response! You are awesome! I'll take your advice and stay at Casitas 4 or 5. I can just call them and tell them, right?

You can call and request it. But you must remember it is only a request. We've been very fortunate and have always gotten our request (except last September--but I didn't complain--we were in Casitas 3 and upgraded to a suite!).

Woo Hoo! We decided with the 4/7 promotion to upgrade to CSR!! So excied, our son was adopted from Guatemala and is Mayan. Our visit corresponds with our "Metcha Day" and we always celebrate our family day then. CSR was our first choice but a bit out of budget until the promotion was extended. Now we can celebrate his heritage and our family at the perfectly themed resort.

Can't wait to go, and can't wait to hear back from Buzz!

We have a water view. Do these tend to be closer to the pool or the food area?

Thanks, Dawn

We are booked for March 14-21st with the 4/3free. When we first booked it was either the CSR, FT Wilderness or a deluxe resort. I was kinda dissappointed. ( We really wanted to try the POP). But THANKS to you Buzz I am SOOOOOOOOO excited to stay at the CSR. This resort looks like more of a deluxe resort. Thanks for all your hard work in making & keeping up with the website. One quick question... you may have already answered ( sorry) What bldg should I request to stay? We have 2 rooms with 4 adults & 4 kids (9,8,6,3)
Have a GREAT Trip!!!

Up & Coming Trip...March 2009 CSR

Since Buzz is on vacation and may not be able to read all of the CSR threads while he is gone, here is recommendations depending on what you want to be close to:

For adult couples, especially honeymooners or those celebrating anniversaries Casitas 4 or 5 with a water view is exceptional. Casita 4 has the quiet pool, fitness center, spa, salon, and both are close to bus stop #2.

For “leisure guests with children” here are some great locations; Cabana 8a, Rancho 7b, Cabana 8b, 9a, Rancho 6b, and 6a...in that order. Nearness to El Centro is usually of no importance to many guests. It's much more important to be close to the park bus stops and the “Dig Site”. Leisure guests may come to El Centro once or twice; but they will be at the buses twice a day (at least) and the pool often when they are at the resort.

For adults or large families who wish to be close to a park bus stop and to a “quieter pool” but are not interested in the theme pool, building 7a is great and has close proximity to parking.

Building 2 also is close to parking and usually one of the quietest buildings, especially from the 4th floor. The fourth floor of building actually includes part of the upper floors of building 3 and has easy access to the convention center by way of the elevator courtyard of building 1 (especially in a rainstorm).

In other words, there is no “best location for everyone”. Each building has its own plusses and minuses. The cast members will be happy to guide you into the building that fits your needs best……..if you let them know what those needs and expectations may be.

Also, for a reality check…….when there is a large convention……not everyone is going to get a room next to the convention center. In fact, most of the rooming blocks are set up by the group having the convention long before any of the convention guests arrive…… Sometimes, there is little cast member latitude on changing those assignments.

As always, if there are special needs that must be addressed, fax the resort a week before arrival. Be sure you are faxing to the resort and not to Walt Disney Travel Company, their booking agency. The resort cast is best able to accommodate special needs. Often guests call the reservation desk with these requests and do not understand that this is not the resort; but a central reservation desk for ALL of Walt Disney World. The fax number is available by calling Walt Disney World information and asking for the front desk operations fax number.

Cabana 9b is close to bus stop 1 and the main building with a short walk to the Dig Site (main pool) over the wooden bridge.

Cabana 8a is close to the Dig Site (and playground) and bus stop 4 with a short walk to the main building (closest to the pool).

Cabana 8b and 9a are in between the 2 above (9a has a quiet pool).

Ranchos 7b has a quiet pool, is close to the Dig Site and bus stop 4 with a bit longer walk to the main building. 7b is behind cabana 8a.

Casita 1 is attached to the main building and is very close to the restaurants.

Casita 3 has great courtyard and fountain views.

Casita 5 has some nice fountain and lake views and is close to the Dig Site but farther from the main building. Close to bus stop #2.

Personally, we've always stayed in Castias 4 or 5. It is about a five minute walk to the main building (food, registration, gift shop) and an eight minute walk to the Dig Site Pool. Now, we are 56 and 51 and have no children with us anymore (they are both away at school), so it might take you a little longer with little ones from one of those buildings. It takes us less than 2 minutes to walk to our car in the parking lot (the bus stops are by the parking lot in each section except the last stop which is the main building).
