So the countdown is ON!! :)
1 month to go!!! yeah I'm a little excited.

Each trip we're trying to focus on each of our kids and their interests. Last trip was oldest DD and her obsession with the princesses...

This trip will be centered on my DD2.. who has a small, okay so maybe it's a MAJOR Minnie addiction. (as I type this she's on the floor with ears, minnie dress, a minnie doll watching Mickey mouse club house..)

Also it's her BDAY when we arrive! :)

We're there 5 nights with 6 day park hoppers, though I don't see using it much the day we arrive or the day we leave (driving from Sacto). We're at PPH concierge :)

This is what I have planned so far:
Sun-Day we arrive: Goofy's Kitchen for her Bday dinner.. and an in room celebration (in lieu of a big bday party with her friends here..)

Mon-Day2: I have an 8:10 BBB appointment (she asked me if they do minnie too not just princesses :laughing:) then a 10am brunch at Plaza Inn.. I was assured since we're the first appointments we will have no problem making our Ressie :)

Tues- WCT, WOC lunch (DH wants to eat there.. I figure might as well do WOC then)

wed/thurs are pretty open.. I think Wed is the day we'll do TTMM :)

Friday- One last Hurrah! at PCH grill before we leave :)

Does anyone have any other minnie-esque suggestions?

Well, while in Toon Town don't forget to visit Minnie's house - your DD can play around and you can get great pictures/video of her fun. And then meet Minnie herself of course!!

Also, the last time we went to Playhouse Disney Live on Stage (I think they changed the name to Disney Junior to match the TV change), they have a Mickey Mouse Club House segment, which she would probably love to dance to.

I'm sure others will come up with more, but this is all I can think of right now.

Sounds like a special trip. Have fun, take lots of pictures, and be sure to post a report. :thumbsup2

I'm sure Minnie will be in the new Soundsational Parade too, so you could watch that.

Also, some shops throughout the park have treats (cookies, caramel apples, etc.) decorated like Minnie.

Thank you! both for your suggestions!

I am very excited for the new parade and can't wait to see it, I am wondering where a good place would be to see it :)

I am beyond excited for her! They don't know we're going yet :)

Oh, also! Minnie and Goofy take turns standing near Soaring Over California in aviator outfits. So you can see her when you pop over to California Adventure too.

I am guessing that PPH knows it is DD birthday? If so, they should have an autographed pic of Mickey and Minnie waiting for her when you check in, along with balloons. That totally impressed me! :)

Not much of an idea for when you're in the Parks but Disney Shopping has Minnie Mouse travel duffel bags and toiletry bags on clearance. I just got them for myself, my daughter and my mom for our trip in Sept. You can get the bags personalized for an additional $3.95. They also have Minnie PJ's and some clothing in the Warehouse Clearance as well... the PJ's can be personalized which I'm still considering to do. My DD is also a HUGE Minnie Mouse fan. Have a fantastic trip.

Oh, just thought, and maybe you mentioned it & I missed it but can't you get a recorded call from Minnie (or Mickey) before you leave for your trip?

I was just looking at the toiletry bag, lunch box and swimsuit cover up for her gifts

yes when we booked I told them it was her bday, and they asked her fav character

Minnie is a favorite of my daughter & we saw her on Main Street, Minnie & Friends character breakfast, in ToonTown, Goofy's Kitchen character meals, Surf's Up with Mickey character breakfast, at the plane by Soarin', over by Hollywood Backlots & parades. Pretty much what was named previously.

As well as the in room celebrations, they also do a Minnie Mouse gift basket or you can have them do a special one with items you really want for her.

World of Disney in DTD has a lot of Minnie items (including dress, shoes, etc). The BBB will be a lot of fun & they also have a large selection of Minnie items there!!

When you check in at the Minnie & Friends, if you can locate the character manager (usually standing around watching all the characters)....you could mention your daughter's birthday & love for Minnie....they'll make sure Minnie knows before coming over. Also let them know when you check in & most places will do a special little dessert & will sing happy birthday (they'll grab a character or two to join them).

Make sure you daughter wears a birthday button (your whole trip)....she'll get lots of birthday wishes!!

At plaza inn they do that birthday cupcake decorating thing. I wonder if Minnie goes to that? Probably not though.

Mickey & Minnie make an appearance, do a short conga line & then you can line up to get a picture done (no autographs). My biggest complaint about this birthday party was the price you pay. You can get much better character interaction at a character meal for near the same price. We were very disappointed in the party & my kids (ages 3/8) hated it. The cakes were dry, the frosting dyed my daughters eyebrow red, they were upset when they didn't get to "spend" time with Mickey & Minnie & super upset when Mickey wouldn't sign their autograph book (they had not been able to see Mickey due to the super long lines at the parks). We added the party last minute, hoping to get Mickeys signature.

Our experience with the party is a big thumbs down.....but others have liked it. I'd rather spend my money on the character meals & get interaction from lots of characters!!

Also, some shops throughout the park have treats (cookies, caramel apples, etc.) decorated like Minnie.

Head on over to the candy store near the Winnie the Pooh ride, as they tend to have the best character-themed treats (imo), including Minnie Mouse caramel apples.

Be sure to check with Guest Services at City Hall as to when exactly Minnie will be at her house in Toon Town. They can give you a specific time (which is better, imo, than just waiting around her house all day in hopes of running into her at her house).

My children are VERY lucky because Minnie Mouse leaves them each a special (small) Disney themed gift at the hotel each night (they find it when they wake up) and it is wrapped in red paper with white polka dots--just like some of her clothing. ;)

Their Minnie gifts are a highlight of the trip and they LOVE them--really and truly LOVE them. We really don't buy much while we're at DL, so this way they feel as though they have Disney "stuff" just like everyone else--plus it was delivered to them by Minnie Mouse herself!!

You can also find Minnie on Main Street, around Town Square - perhaps starting from about an hour after park opening.

What a great idea. I may have to steal this one from you and use it myself. I was trying to figure out a way to cut down on money spent on toys while at the parks. I could head down to the Disney Store in our area and pick up a couple items to do what you suggest. I'll still let her get a couple things but this is a fantastic idea. Just wondering where I might be able to find red paper with white polka dots. :flower3:

If you can be waiting at Toontown right before it opens and go straight to Minnie's house you can be one of the first to see her. We saw her outside of her house and she visited with us for a good amount of time. She was adorable and very sweet.

I hope your daughter has a great trip!

I am also trying to figure out Toontown madness.. do we just be there at rope drop and get to TT as fast as possible?
