Brain Surgery UPDATE

Hi All,

I tried edited this to my OP, but DIS kept freezing up on me.

My Mom made it through surgery with flying colors. The doctor got 99% of the tumor out and she is now in recovery- the doctor told my Dad she's already talking! There is a lot of swelling, which is expected, but she is already on the road to recovery. Thank you God! Dad will call me later with an update, but thank you all SO MUCH for keeping my family in your thoughts and prayers. As long as there is no bleeding over the next 12 hours or so, she is pretty much home free.

That's great news! I hope that she continues to do well and has a speedy recovery.

My dad had a brain tumor removed and the surgery took about 9 hours, it may have been longer. It was so hard sitting around and waiting not knowing what the outcome would be.

Take a deep breath, let it out and try to relax. I'm guessing the tumor is benign?

Alice, that's good news. For my dad, it was malignant (very aggresive grade 4). He passed away 14 yrs. ago.

I totally understand your worrying and concerns though. I'm glad to hear that she'll be ok.
