A few days? Woah, my lisp lasted for like two weeks and people still laugh about it lol.

I had braces for six years. I had to wear head gear, elastics, and retainers, but I never wore them...

Now my teeth are straight, but I have to wear my retainer now only at night though.

I have braces now and i have had them since June 05. I am getting them off in four weeks but i just recently got elastics like 5 days ago and they are annoying the heck out of me. They break like every 5 seconds and if you keep them off for more than an hour you will loose everything that they corrected during the day. Ahh...i can't wait to get the braces off but i don't want a retainer. If you get the invisiline retainer do you still have a lisp?

My friend has them. They've been telling her for MONTHS that she's going to get them taken off, but every time she goes in they make her keep them on.

Hmmm.
I'm not going to have a constant retainer. Just a mouth guard for night.
And I'll also have this little piece of metal glued behind my bottom teeth, which is apparently new. My dentist hates retainers and think they're a joke.

I spit when I talk without them xD
I'm used to people spitting when they talk, cos 9/10 it doesn't land on me, and it's most like OMG!!!! Yeah it's gross, but you don't need to have a hissie over it.

Braces are worse than the retainer in my opinion. And I have a small lisp anyway so it makes mine even worse

I had braces. I had fixed for 3 years and then a retainer for 2 years. Im glad its all over with now. But it was definatly worth it

I think my mouth was swelled or something because now they look a little more normal.

You will get used to them. They will adjust to your mouth anyways. Just takes time Good luck.
