Boys in girls bathroom

Really? How do you know? Again, was this "after hours", during class, or during a break between classes? I don't know that that's been specified. Were there girls in the bathroom at the time?

While I don't think it was a huge deal, given that the boys were able to get into the girls bathroom, I think it is safe to assume that girls would be able to get into the bathroom as well (be it "afterhours", during class, or whatever).

No more humiliating than having to do that in front of girls who are legitimately in there (in a doorless stall bathroom).

I am like FireDancer, apparently. I don't get what there is to be humiliated about. 50% of the population deals with "female" issues. And 100% of the population does "the other stuff" in the bathroom. I don't get what is to be embarrassed about??

I disagree. I know it has been a long time since I was a 13 year old girl, but I am positive I would have been humiliated beyond belief if a boy saw me dealing with female issues or other stuff in the bathroom.

And that is fine that you don't get what there is to be embarrassed about, you should feel lucky that you wouldn't be embarrassed to insert a tampon or relieve your bowels in front of other girls, but that doesn't change the fact that there are many girls who are. No need to diminish their feelings just because you don't get that.

Do you really think that teen boys/girls have never seen, at least in pictures, what the the opposite sex looks like naked???

What does that have to do with anything? Do you use the bathroom in front of others? Do you insist on having a dressing room with a door? After all, everyone has seen a naked person, so they know what one looks like.

because people here are making a huge issue about a boy seeing a girls' "parts" :confused3

Maybe because it would be a big deal or huge issue to some of those girls :confused3

(hypotheticaly speaking of course)

LOL! It's not about the boy seeing the girl. It's about the girl being seen by the boy. No, I am not the least bit concerned that his pure, untouched little mind will be shattered by the sight of a half naked girl. I'm concerned that SHE will be embarrassed. So the fact that he's probably seen such things before is completely irrelevant.

Oh please, you aren't fooling anyone. If a boy saw your 13 year old precious girl in any part of undress you'd be on here screaming bloody murder. You're lying if you say otherwise.

I think your nephew and his friends are lying. They didn't care to know if there were mirrors in the girl's bathroom. If that is the case all you have to do is open the door and peek in and you can see the mirrors. They were IN THE BATHROOM on a dare or trying to catch a peek or whatever reason they were in there. They were coming up with some excuse off the top of their heads to try to minimize their guilt for doing something they know they shouldn't do. I would rather have seen them have a 3 day at home suspension with zeros for the missed work. Punishment should be punishment. In school suspension where you get to do your work and get grades for it is no punishment.
I think the story is a little fishy, but have you been to every bathroom in the country? At my HS, you could open the door and stand there with it open for an hour and not see anything because there was a wall you had to walk around. It protected the innocents.

Anyway, I talked to my nephew who now thinks I'm strange. There were stall doors in the girl's room, but they dont have them on the boy's stalls. This happened during the day so there were girls in the bathroom. They were egging him on he said.

No, I really wouldn't whether you believe me or not. If a boy walked in on my DD changing a tampon, she probably would have thrown the used tampon at him. She has two brothers, they have all walked in on each other in some state of undress by mistake at some point and time in their lives and they all lived to tell the tale. The kids pretty much strip down to undies getting ready for band, in front of everyone pretty much every week, doesn't bother her in the slightest. I just isn't a big deal. DS16, however, would have been MORTIFIED if a girl walked into the boys bathroom while he was going whether she saw anything or not but I still wouldn't have been outraged over it happening, nor would I probably have even known about it unless DD told me...

another story about DD...in 9th grade Civics class, the kids were doing a unit on budgeting--each kid had to make up a budget, they talked about the budgets the next day in class. They came to the part about personal care items and all the boys were saying that $5/month was more than enough to cover that....DD, who was 14 at the time (so not much older than 13) stands up and says "$5, a box of TAMPONS costs $5"...the teacher excused the class for lunch right after that :lmao:---having a boy walk in on her in the bathroom would not phase her in the slightest.

Like I predicted earlier, someone did come along and say it wouldn't be an issue. And like I said earlier, that person is the exception, not the norm.

Geeze... times have changed. When I was in high school (graduated in 97) that prank probably wouldn't even get you detention.

I think it's just a silly little prank that boys do and people need to calm down.

No kidding. Growing up in NYC there were always guys in the ladies rest rooms in school, bars, clubs-everywhere-LOL. I graduated in 88.

Ok, DD and her friend just got home so I asked them if a boy walked into the girls bathroom what would they do--first response, "big deal, there are doors on the stalls"

So, I asked them what if there were no doors--they said "awkward because then all the girls would see them peeing--put doors on the stalls people"

Then I asked if a boy saw them changing a tampon and they both said "I'd throw the used tampon at them" :lmao::thumbsup2

That was kinda my thinking about the doors.

As for changing a tampon, I think that'd be a bit awkward to say the least, but (from my recollection of guys at that age), it'd probably be as much if not more awkward for the boy.

On the other hand, I've been known to (as well as some friends) use the boys room on a band trip. Have you seen how long the line is for the girls' room? :lmao: In our defense, we did have a guy make sure it was empty, then they would stand guard to let any entering guy know that there were girls in there. Only once did we come out of the stalls to a guy at the urinal. Everyone had a laugh and went on.

I was wondering if it was safe to assume there were NO girls in there however. When I was in MS, I was at the school for hours afterwards on various issues... theater, sports, etc. I think it's fairly safe to say if I wanted a peak at a girls bathroom, THAT would be the time I would do it.

Anyway, I talked to my nephew who now thinks I'm strange. There were stall doors in the girl's room, but they dont have them on the boy's stalls. This happened during the day so there were girls in the bathroom. They were egging him on he said.
Ah, thank you. I'm guessing he's telling the truth. I can't imagine a boy thinking he'd "get a peak" by simply walking in (that girls wouldn't say anything). I could be wrong.

This does bring up a memory of when I was in MS. I was part of the football team. We came back from an away game and we walked in the school to the locker room. I happened to be the first one through the door. I open the door... and there's a room full of MS girls! I quickly shut the door and started laughing.:lmao:

The girls were members of a basketball team. The visiting team used the boys locker room while the girls used theirs. Totally caught me by surprise. Fortunately (or unfortunately for my teenage mind :rotfl:), they weren't on the way to the showers.:rolleyes1

Don't think it's a huge deal. I can't imagine that it was some giant malicious attempt to see girls parts or anything like that... then again, it's been a long time since I've been around any thirteen year old boys.

I remember that at 13 I also went into a boys restroom with a bunch of girls... granted, it was a Saturday and the bathroom was dark. We just wanted to see the urinals! We had never seen one before. :rotfl: We were there to do community service hours as a part of the junior honor society (and I say that just to prove that we were usually good kids, not typically rebels) and thought it'd be the prime time to check out the guys restrooms since odds were nobody was inside and there weren't too many teachers around.

I would assume it was just typical 13 year old boys being curious to see what the girls restroom looked like...

I do remember another time in high school when a guy went into the girls restroom in some public setting (can't remember if it was on purpose or accident) but that they told me later "Why do you have a sofa in there?! We don't get a sofa!"

When I was in Jr high (eons ago) there was a urinal right outside the gym. Just right there, on the wall. The first time I saw it, not knowing what it was, I thought it was a drinking fountain. The water just kinda continuously flowed and I was thinking, it must be pretty hard to drink from that. Thank goodness I wasn't thirsty. :rotfl::rotfl:

I'll flat out state I'd be out for blood at that point. But might, just might, settle for a body part.
