Boycotting companies (aka I hate CVS)

No matter what I eventually have problems with EVERY CVS I encounter. I'm on a CVS boycott!

When I was living in Maryland, I didn't have a car for the first two years (college student) and I was "forced" to use the only pharmacy within walking distance- CVS. I swear, they messed up more prescriptions, always had a loooong line and required me to wait for 30 + minutes even when it was empty. Finally they really screwed up and I refused to walk into a CVS for two years-

Well, now I live in PA and there is a CVS that is most convenient- I walk past it nearly every day. My sister has used it for over a year and says they are great (know her by name and all).

Of course I run into a huge problem with them today (using them since Sept) and they have wasted so much of my time in the past three days that I'm going back to boycotting CVS. I spend $100-150 monthly in perscriptions that get refilled at different times during the month but I will be driving the 20 minutes to another pharmacy now! grrrrrr

Anyone else boycott a company that you have had multiple issues with?

i don't mind cvs but i get my scripts filled elsewhere because they were the first to have a drive up window. ;) what i don't like is walgreens. it seems every one that i have been in is messy and dirty.

Steak N Shake - Although their shakes are top notch, their drive through is extemely slow. Live a mile from one, and haven't been there in about 10 years. I'll drive a little farther to UDF or Wendys for a shake.

Oak Express. I went in to buy a small library step stool/chair that was on sale. I am also in the market for a large dining room table which I thought I'd look for when I was in the store. I had so many problems with the stupid chair that there was no way I was going to give them my money for a large purchase. I'll go somewhere with better customer service.

I second that, every time i've eaten in there it seems as if it's taken an hour just to get our drinks! :furious: Never again.

I'm boycotting the Shell station around the corner. I saw thatthey were charging $2.09 for regular yesterday so I went there instead of the place I usually go since I was on E and it was closer.

When I am at the pump, I notice it says $2.19. I asked the guy what the deal was and he said it was $2.09 for cash. Of course I have only $1 on me. I just find that pretty shady. I told him to tell his manager I found it shady and I wasn't coming back again. He told me to tell the manager himself. But the manager just sat there on his cell phone yacking and the attendant was too afraid to get him for me. I told him to stop pumping. I was done there.

When I was leaving, I did see where it said cash, but it was small and at the bottom of the sign. Still not going back there.

any chrysler car---

we've 2 and had nothing but problems with both--

customer service is a joke.

the last straw is when we bought our voyger minivan

we put in 2 starters, 2 batteries in 3years (when I complained about the batteries lasting only 18 months each I was told they dont put strong batteries in at the factory the second one the dealer put in!!!)

new altintenor this was the cause of the starters and batteries but the dealer couldnt figure it out :confused3

and 2 transmissions!!!! the first one was under warranity yet the second one lasted us only 3 years!!! :confused3

I fought everything along the way chrysler wouldnt do anything so I got teh BBB involved then we got the money back

the second tranmission I couldnt get anywhere with anyone somehow I missed the deadline for the BBB

we ended up selling that heap and keeping a car that was older but ran better

my DH said if Chrysler was the only car around we'd be taking the bus!!!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

hes right!!!!!

I haven't been inside a Walmart or a McDonalds in probably 10 years and I'm proud of it!

You know, everyone cries, "Its just capitalism!", but there's a great Garrison Keiller Lake Wobegon that talks about what shopping used to be like. Yes, there was capitalism, but you shopped in your town, from your neighbors.

You sold everyone the groceries you in your store and bought your tv and your glasses and your tools from the tv store and the eye doctor and they hardware that were locally owned down the street. It was kind of a "socialism", (Keiller's word not mine, but it's good) and everyone had their own businesses and controlled their own destinies.

That's how my town was like and I go out of my way to shop at local places around here, unless they just suck, which sometimes they do. I'm willing to pay a little more but I won't put up with bad service.

Subway! I had an awful experience with things I felt were less than sanitary and I now refuse to go back.

Exxon-due to the profit/gouging issues.

Wendy's-too many cases of food poisoning here.

Best Buy!!! they don't care about customer service! When you call them, you don't even get the store. I tried to find out a store managers name and they wouldn't tell me!

I remember back when every gas station advertised the cash price, but it was more for credit card purchase. Actually.....it was a "discount" if you bought with cash becaues it's illegal to charge more to use a cc.

There's a gas station near me that's always 5 cents cheaper than other stations, but they are cash only.

Wild Oats ..... I don't like that they claim to only sell natural and organic, but on the shelves you see stuff like campbell's soup (full of preservatives). I go to Whole Foods where I don't have to worry about them trying to slip one over on me.

We have a little Mexican restaurant in my small town that I won't eat at because they won't let you split a ticket. So if a friend and I meet for lunch, we can't pay with our cards or if two families go out to lunch after church on a Sunday, they have to get their calculators out to figure out who owes what. I don't get why they are going out of their way to have bad customer service. It can't cost them anything to split the checks????? Well, maybe a penny for the extra piece of paper.

Wal-Mart. And I thought it was illegal to "charge more" for credit card purchases, which is essentially what they're doing at that gas station, right?

actually I won't go into CVS either.
When my middle son was about 7 years old we went in their to get an antibiotic prescription filled for an ear infection. About 20 minutes later it wasn't ready and the kid had to pee - VERY BAD.

They wouldn't let him use the restroom and the wouldn't get our prescription done and I seriously thought they were going to get a puddle right on their floor.

We walked out, I wrote a nasty letter to their Regional office, and we've never been back.

I won't go into Macy's either, they stole Marshall Fields.

No, they get around it by saying that the "credit card price" is the regular price and the cash price is a discounted price for paying with cash. Unfortunately, that's perfectly legal. Sneaky, but legal.

I have pretty much boycotted Microsoft products. I got so sick of all the problems I had with our PC that I just said no more . I have to still use them at work and stuff but I won't spend any of my money on them (I won't even by a Xbox). I bought an Apple iBook and have been happy ever since.

I boycotted Home Depot for a while after they installed our hardwood floors. We had so many issues and it took 9 months to resolve them. Lately, I have been going there again, but not to the same store where we had the problems.

Sorry to hear about the problems people had with CVS. I work there, but I know service really differs depending on the staff in each store. I bend over backwards to try to satisfy the customers, but when I was on maternity leave and getting my rxs filled at another CVS, I got really bad service.

Toby's Friend..what a horrible situation with the restroom! I can assure you, that is not CVS policy. We are supposed to let ANYONE use the restroom. Even if that wasn't policy, what about some compassion for a child who needs to use the restroom? Maybe a puddle on the floor would have taught them a lesson!

Several years ago some people suggested boycotting Disney. However, someone (NOT ME) made up the following list of everything that you would have to boycott:
