I so don't want to be in work today. It's a picture perfect day here in Boston, DH has the day off and the guy I fired on Wednesday keeps calling me. I need a big hug.

I'm so sorry . . .

Kathy, can you call your security officers and get them to stop Mr. Ex-employee from HARRASSING you?

I already checked that out , Deb. Since he is no longer an employee they can do nothing. But to make matters worse, he's calling me at home as well and Joe's ready to go looking for him. He intercepted a call last night night and gave him what for.

I just want to thank everyone so much for their support. NOT

Well, things are different here, aren't they?

Did you call the police, Kath?

I'm really hesitant to do that. He's hurting not only over the firing, but over the girl as well and I don't want to make things worse than they already are, but Joe's pretty mad about the call to our home.

By the way, we have to be careful here, we're doing a one on one.

no you're not.

Take care and stay safe.

But it does stink to be ignored, doesn't it?

Yikes! That sounds scary. I'm sorry your employer can't do anything to help you. :(

I think you need to do what feels best to you, but I hope you do consider calling the police. No telling what someone might do when they lose their job. :(

Sounds very scary, Kath. It stinks that your employer can't help. I know with us, we do have security here to help in situations like that (thank goodness) I would be calling the police or something if it were me. Sorry you are going through this and sorry you felt ignored... I know for me I can't read the DIS much until I get home from work, so nothing personal here. Good luck!!!

{{{HUGS}}} sweetie. Just a few more hours before the weekend.

Yikes! That is scary. If the phone calls keep up, can you look into a caller id/call blocking program.

We had to do that a couple of years ago for a semi-delusional acquaintance of DHs.

I would at least let the police know that this is going on, so that if anything escalates, they at least have a record.

{{{{HUGS}}}}

You becareful.

That is scary to know that he is calling you at home. Maybe you should consider getting your number changed and have it unlisted.

I am surprised to hear your work can not help you with this. If you are in the position of firing someone they should be able to protect you from things like this.

Just count the hours, the weekend is almost here.

I'm sorry this is happening to you. It must be really scary. I think you need to be very careful here though. I know you said you don't want to cause this guy any further trouble but it's pretty dangerous when he's calling you at home. Please be careful.

I think you would get more responses to your thread if it had a more detailed subject line. I know for myself anyway, that when I'm in a hurry I skip any thread whose subject line doesn't really let me know what it's about. Then when I have more time I go back and look at them. I think during the day there are a lot of quick 'peepers' on the DIS board and during the evening hours you are more likely to get views and responses.

Kathy I'm so sorry that this is happening. I would call the police and at least ask them what can be done about you keeping yourself safe. Also call the phone company and see what they can do to help.

I know what its like to be ignored around here. I've had that happen a few times myself.

I just got home from chaperoning a band trip and read your post. It's bad enough to have to fire someone, but to have them keep calling you.......I can only imagine how that makes you feel. It really stinks that your company can't do more to make sure you are safe. Do you have security guards? If so, it looks like they could make them aware of the situation, so they could stop him if he shows up. Hopefully, the guy will think twice before calling your home again. I think your DH did the right thing by telling him off.

Stay safe and hopefully have a good weekend and a better week next week.
