We bought one this year too. We also love it. It gets used at least a dozen times a day for oatmeal, tea, soup, to heat up travel mugs, you name it. I also love that I no longer have to wash off my teakettle that sat on my stove. All that grease spatter was a mess.
Mine goes to Disney with me, even if I have free dining! On a second one. The first plugged in, this one the base plugs in and kettle lifts off. Just love it.

Got one several years ago for travel to avoid the yucky hotel room pots that always reek of coffee anyway. Wound up getting more and more into using it at home. DD abducted it when she left for college.
My PSA: Heating water in the microwave is very dangerous. Many people have been seriously scalded by the water "exploding" when they open the door and break the surface tension of the boiling water. I'm sure many of them have done it daily w/ no incident & then for whatever reason that one day tragedy strikes and they are seriously burned. I'm sure even minimal googling will show this is true.

I have a hot pot that I use (just a cheap corded pot) for travel, as it's light and I don't care if it gets damaged.
But my one at home gets used several times a day. I researched before finally choosing this one, and the fact that the kettle lifts off of the corded base was the selling point for me. I've had it for over 5 years.
