We are ordering flowers for DD's wedding. Her fiance will be wearing his AF dress uniform in the wedding. What's the etiquette here? Does he wear a flower or not?
My husband who is a BIG stickler for protocol did wear a single rose boutenierre(sp) as did his groomsmen in their dress uniform. He wore it on the left side above all his awards and not touching any of his official stuff. If it was an official military function then no but because its a wedding I would say yes.
You will get a lot of different answers on this one. I am retired and have attended military weddings and have not seen a groom or groomsmen wearing a boutinere.
I have not attended a military wedding for several years so I do not know wnat some are doing now.
I never knew flowers were such a big wedding issue! Not just because of the military thing, but we have other flower issues going too with the women wnting this and that special thing!
Hey Tina! Going against you on this one. DH says NO and he did not wear them on his dress blues at our wedding. DH never did as a groomsman or saber bearer (?) either.

I also agree with this to a point depending on what type of "military wedding" If you are having the all out big military wedding with the processional and the swords and whatever then I guess you wouldn't want to do a boutinere but we did a simple church wedding with out the big processional and swords and stuff.
