Originally this post was a rant over the inconsistancy of Disney's communications when it come to dress. I have instead decided just to say....

GOOD MORNING!

Probably for the best... they do tend to give many different answers. That's why I always call back when I don't like the answer I get. :lmao:

If we are concerned about someone taking the photo I will have my Canon DSLR with me. I will also bring my tripod and unless the ship is really rocking I can set up the shot then use the timer. I also have a remote control but I haven't used that before but the timer works great. After the shot I can either give out the file or post it on my Photobucket account.

Sounds to me like a wonderful idea, even if just for a back up to DCL doing it!! :goodvibes

What I just don't get is WHY are they showing Christmas Carol still?? I mean it is almost April for goodness sakes. :confused3

I never got around to seeing this during the season so am actually happy it's still there!! But they could change in the next couple weeks...

... I have translucent eyelashes. When I foget to put it on everyone asks me if I'm sick and inform me that I don't look well:sick:...

I can sooo relate!! I just wear something all the time because I hate feeling like I'm scaring people!! :lmao: :rotfl2:

OK-- Totally OFF TOPIC... but...

I am the PTA Treasurer for my son's school also the Box Tops for Education Coordinator (plus I chair about a million different committees-- I'm sure all the other PTA Moms here understand what I mean!)

Anyway, I am asking all of you who are childless (or no longer have school age children) for your help. My son's class is in a neck & neck battle with another class in the Box Tops collection (winning class gets a pizza party in June)... If you wouldn't mind saving Box Tops for his class for the next 12 days or so & bring them to us on the ship, it would be greatly appreciated!!! :worship: Thanks! Tricia

What type of boxtops do you collect?? Sorry, really out of the loop here, but would be happy to bring whatever we may have.

Reminder to myself - take clothes to dry cleaners.

Kristi

I have a couple of items I need dry cleaned too, but I've decided to bring them as they are and have them dry cleaned on board, it will cost me about the same and they'll arrive back in my room without any wrinkles from being stuffed in my suitcase

To start this wonderful day I have an ultrasound of my kidneys and adrenals @ 2pm. :guilty:

My boys are being released from school now. My children DO NOT go to a school where they do this on a whim. We have gotten 12+ inches of rain this month so far and it is POURING now. :scared1:

I have waaaay tooo much to do to deal with all these cancelations, states of emergency and road closures (they are closing a short span of 95!!). :sad2:

:grouphug::grouphug: good luck with your ultrasound. Hope the weather improves soon, sounds scary :sad2:

Please help me understand how this FE thing goes. We are signed in on FE 3. We have ordered our FE. Just don't know how this works. What are the normal FE gifts? How often do you give the gifts? Do you gift everyone in the cabin? Do you wrap the gifts? Do you tag who they are from? How do you know the ages? Thanks so much. Just want to make sure that we are doing this right!

YES! He's a freshman at UCSC this year, & I wear the slug wear, but him... not so much. lol :cool2: We opted for the train "home" this week, but have always driven him back up in the past -- partly because it's soooo beautiful there!! GO SLUGS!

Welcome! I was late to the party too, but it's a great place to be for information & entertainment!! :goodvibes

I ALWAYS over pack. I even try the "cruise packing method" where you put out everything you think you will take, and then PUT BACK HALF of it! Still....too much stuff!!:confused3

I know most have a great experience with Shirley's gift baskets, and she seems to be a very nice person, but my input (for what it's worth lol), is to be sure you are really specific with what you want. We left it too vague I guess (?) and didn't get what we had wanted. Everyone else has had great results though, so I'm thinking that was maybe my mistake (when I ordered). :confused3

I'm still trying to decide whether to join the last "fish extender" group -- if it's still even open! It just sounds fun, & while it's too late to make anything as creative as what I've seen on this board, I do have some ideas for quick stuff, and also some fun little items from my business (everyone just ignore the print lol, not a sales pitch)!!!

bev

Welcome to Fish Extender Group #3 both of you!

We may be the last formed but we're still going to have lots of fun. This group is doing one gift per cabin to keep in managable.

You've figured out that they were trying to squeeze in the Cougar picture between the Group Lunch & the Secret Mickey Reveal (around dessert)? And it only involves about a dozen people?

I would love them to have a great picture and it sounds like you are a photographer - I'm just using a Panasonic Lumix (small version, not the SLR).

Now for the Group Photo at 11:45 (before our Noon Group Lunch), we might avail you of your services (depending on the reaction to Joi's discovery).

Do you think maybe they just don't want us to know there will be fireworks in Barcelona? :confused3 Maybe they want to surprise us...I was really hoping to see them as they looked really cool last time so I'll just hope they don't want you to know so they are saying no but there will be some. :wizard:

Well, that's what I was hoping for...they just wanted to keep it a surprise. But I have a feeling with the economy and the fact this is a repeat cruise that we really won't get that special fireworks show as we pull into Barcelona. :sad2:

Just spoke to the image group ...(shutters photo company) ....

This is where I :worship:

I will make the change on the ballot from Cougar Queen (already crowned!) to Cougar Princess.

Sounds like a Cougar Court - the Queen surrounded by the Princesses.

princess: princess: princess: princess:
princess: KRISTI princess:
princess: princess: princess: princess:

Are you planning on wearing makeup during the day or just at dinner? Just curious Kristi

Oddly enough, over the last year or so, I've quit wearing what little I used to use. I have switched to Bare Minerals and will put it on if I will be out in the sun for some time, as it is SPF 15. If there's any chance of spending hours on deck, I guess I'll need something a tad stronger than 15.

No, we're not having cosmetics police - they are staying at home with the hosiery police. :goodvibes

I have used Bare Minerals for about two years now and love them.

What kind of box tops do you need? :confused3

Packed about 98% of my "stuff" in one large suitcase. I weighed it today and it was 42 pounds. :worship: That is much less than I expected. :upsidedow

Now to put what little I have left in another suitcase which will have mostly empty space. :laundy: This will accomodate the large amount of DCL "stuff" I will bring back! :scared1:

I am still putting off doing my taxes (it is a personal conviction of mine to not file early) but I am thinking about it more. :rotfl2:

I did find out that TurboTax will let me do my federal taxes on their web site and eFile for free! :surfweb: I still have to do my partial year Maryland state taxes but I can do those manually without even breaking a sweat. :wizard:

What kind of box tops do you need? :confused3

They're not boxtops. They are on General Mills products and sort of look like a stamp. It says Box top$ for education and needs to be cut off the box top. They are worth 10 cents each but if you can get a lot of them it can be a worthwhile amount for the school. It's a good cause unfortunately I have only found about 60 cents worth but I'll keep looking.

I use Bare Minerals too and before I discovered them I didn't even bother wearing any kind of makeup. I love their stuff.

Well the past month I've been on a quest to help save the economy :rotfl2: so I don't really see what the problem is :rotfl:

Yeah your probably right but we can all hope for a nice surprise but it's not like the cruise won't be enjoyed if we don't get the extra fireworks. :woohoo:

Are you planning on wearing makeup during the day or just at dinner?

Kristi

Generally yes, but not in the early mornings when I'm running up for tea or coffee and not when swimming is planned.

Also a Bare Minerals user, I will ALWAYS have some of that on! :thumbsup2

...lunch break over (took the whole time to catch up on just this thread!)
back to work.

Like you, I've quit using makeup unless it is a "special occasion". I also use the Bare Minerals - when I use anything.

I guess I just like to make sure I'm not sticking out like a sore thumb.

Box Tops for Education are small little coupons worth 10 cents each for a school. They need to be clipped off the boxes. They are found on a variety of products including GM cereals, Ziploc, Avery, Betty Crocker, Cottonelle products to name a few. I have attached a link to the complete list of participating products. I totally appreciate ANY you may find... like someone else mentioned... you'd be surprised how quickly all of those dimes add up for a school!
Thank you!!

What are my chances of getting a hair styling appointment for the first formal night?

I can't style my hair to save my life. All I can do is ponytails. As my hair is real fine - curling doesn't do anything as it won't stay curled unless it is coated with varnish :rotfl:

I want my hair to look nice with my tiara that night. princess:

things I did today:
Called DCL and:
Put my min. tips on my account

Krisann

I didn't know you could pre-pay gratuities. This is great - we usually pre-pay b/c it makes it easier. Can you just call the regular DCL number for this? How does it work?

What I just don't get is WHY are they showing Christmas Carol still?? I mean it is almost April for goodness sakes. :confused3

Yeah, that does seem a little weird. I never saw it though so Merry Christmas!

Hi my name is Liz and I am a makeup-aholic. I will be wearing makeup at all times except in the gym.

I have switched to Bare Minerals and will put it on if I will be out in the sun for some time, as it is SPF 15. If there's any chance of spending hours on deck, I guess I'll need something a tad stronger than 15.

For Lynne & all other BareMinerals users, they make a lovely mineral sunscreen with an spf of 30. If you're not going to get your face wet, it's a nice sunscreen to use that is in mineral (i.e. powder) form.

check it out:

It has some color to it. If you don't want any color, Peter Thomas Roth also makes a mineral sunscreen that goes up to spf 45. I believe you can find it at Sephora and Ulta.

Thanks for the welcome!!! One per cabin is a good idea for a 14-nighter & definitely manageable! I need to do some reading on how it works. I know there is a link to an informative thread just a few pages back, so I will find that & check it out. Sounds fun! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

I love Christmas any time of the year. I watch Polor Express all year long. Christmas only in December is like saying Disney is only for Kids. Both is for dreaming.
