We are total WDW newbies and have no idea what we are in for but I went ahead and made a reservation for dinner at the T-Rex for Friday evening. We are staying at the All Star resort. Hope I made a good choice! :thumbsup2

Eleasa

Order their Tomato & Cheese soup....it is YUMMY!

Cougar photo: - when do we want to do this? Has all the single women signed up on the google spreadsheet as a cougar? You can be under the age for a cougar and still enter your name. We have one "cougar in training" already.

Okie Dokie I made the big plunge, last minute of course, and signed the master sheet for FE group 3... and although my name is at number "11," I'm pretty sure it's really number 10?? :woohoo:

If it's indeed closed, no worries, just let me know...if anyone knows. lol
Sorry, I'm directionally challenged & am not sure who to ask, even though I know I've seen the lay of the land many times... :3dglasses

My heart is so heavy tonight. Just found out that a friend of my son's (not a close friend but someone he played with on and off and went to school with when in public school) died. He was 11 or 12 and his older sister is also friends with my daughter. Everyone is in shock. He had some type of accident while racing motorcross yesterday - details are sketchy. Give your children an extra hug tonight - you never know what each day brings. My prayers go out to Luke's entire family.

Krisann

How terrible! My heart goes out to that family. Losing a child is one of the worst possible things to go through.

Krisann -- I am so sorry to hear this news. I am wishing your family and Luke's peace and comfort.

Dee, RE: Group Photo: I thought the last thing that was said was we would do a group photo either before or after the lunch on the 22nd. Lynne also brought up doing a photo on the first formal night. There were concerns that with such a large group, the logistics of formal night would be difficult. Personally, I vote for an after lunch photo at a specific time on the 22nd.

Gina RE: Dinner at WL - Maybe we will run into each other...not that we would know it. :lmao:

Welcome Spinks and all other newbies! We are going to have a great trip!

Well if we are at WL around the same time, it will be easy to spot me. The men aren't flying to FL until after work on Friday, so my mom and I will have all four kids with us. I think my reservation is around 6 pm, but I'd have to look on my itinerary at home to be sure.

TRex gets kind of mixed reviews over on the dining board, but we were there in January and enjoyed it a lot. The portions were HUGE. I had a chicken sandwich that was served inside of a pita-like pizza dough with cheese and bacon and avocado. It was incredible. We didn't have room for dessert, but the ones we saw on other tables looked really good. We were just too stuffed to even share a dessert.

I'm proud to say that we accomplished most of our packing this weekend. Now I just have to figure out how I'm going to handle all of our carryon bags! I actually need a lot of items in the carryons since I'll need our pool gear, outfits for Saturday, cameras, laptop, passports, etc. I'm getting tired just thinking about lugging that stuff around!

Also, I called one of our local AAA branches, and they'll be able to convert cash to Euros/Pounds without any fees, so I'll be making a trip over there sometime this week.

Now if I could just arrange for our taxi/minibus service in London. UNBELIEVABLY, I've contacted several places via email and NONE of them have bothered to email me back. You think someone would be interested in our business!

I just copied this from the may 5th med cruise.
I think that this would help some of us....

Hi everyone! I was wondering if there would be a set limit for currency exchange onboard and I emailed to find out. Here's the reply:

Dear Tammy,

Thank you for your e-mail.

I would be happy to assist with currency exchange onboard the ship.

Although, Guests are able to cash personal checks drawn from U.S. banks
only up to $100.00 per checking account, per voyage onboard at the Guest
Services desk, there are no limits set for currency exchange.

Currency exchange is available at Guest Services. During the
Mediterranean sailings, the currencies listed below can be exchanged to
Euros.

The following types of currency can be exchanged onboard:

Dollar (Australia, Canada, Cayman, Hong Kong, United States)
Franc (Switzerland)
Kroner (Denmark, Norway, Sweden)
Peso (Mexico)
Pound (United Kingdom: England, Scotland)
Yen (Japan)
Euro (European Union)

I hope this information has been helpful. If you require further
assistance in planning your visit, please feel free to contact us.

We look forward to sailing with you!

Have a Magical Day!

Is it still true that the baskets delivered on board cannot have food (even packaged) anymore? I remember hearing this awhile ago and haven't ordered once since.
Anyone know?

The first row (row 1) is the header row. So the number of parties starts with row 2, which makes you person (or party) # 10. You're fine :thumbsup2

I don't have any help on when we should do the photo but I've got my shirt and am ready when you are :scared1:

should we do it after the award/secret mickey reveal luncheon...that way everyone would be around? Or right after the big group photo?

I think it depends on if the big group photo is before or after the lunch. Because if we're going out to the basketball courts like Kristi suggested then we wouldn't want to do the group photo and then make everyone wait why we ran up to do another photo before the award/secret mickey reveal. If both photos are done after lunch then after the group photo sounds good to me.

That's my 2 cents :rolleyes1

Why don't we do the group photo before lunch and the Cougars after?

The food there is so so and a little pricy. We took our three year old grandson and 4 year old granddaughter and it was so loud in there that they were scared. When the dinos roar and the lights blink it is a little scary.

As for the group picture it would be nice if we could have one with our crowns on. We could meet about a half hour before the cocktail party- if there is one then.

Lynne were you able to contact Shutters and see what they had to say.
Another on the group lunch would be great too. Whatever is easier- I am agreeable to anything.

I think it would be fun to have one in our tiara's if we can pull it off...maybe we can do a smaller group for that as someone said it would be hard to do a big group photo on formal night. princess:

I think someone else was interested in this...about 100 pages ago:goodvibes

Has anyone found out any information on tours? We are going to use one of the van/taxi's and do the Rock Tour & Europa Point etc, but I would love to do the tour of these tunnels. The official site had very little information. Disney does seem to offer a tour, but I'm not sure how the timing will work with our independant touring ...plus I'm sure their cost is much higher than doing it on our own. I saw some reference to a spelunking (sp?) type adventure ( not quite what I was thinking- what a sight that would be :rotfl: ). However I also heard of a walking tour similar to Disney's...Any one know anything about it?????:confused3

TIA

TIA

We are planning to do the WWII tunnels as well. We have a private tour scheduled with Gibraltar Tours and have arranged with them to drop us off at the WWII tunnels and return later to pick us up. The cost of the WWII tunnels is 6 pounds per person if I recall. This is a self-guided tour but I understand there are many things to read along the way. I've heard you can spend as little as 30 mins to hours in the tunnels, but I'm not sure if that is true.

Hope this helps.

I will keep my eyes peeled for you. Our ADR is for 7:05 pm. :woohoo:
